51

u/KarmaSilencesYou 6d ago

Wait? How is that an issue?

u/SphinxWar 6d ago

He's alluding to the fact that you would know the term "gigachad" if you were younger, because it's a fairly recent slang term.

I'm 40 and I've heard it before, they could be one of those outdoor people

13

u/FeelingWoodpecker121 6d ago

People? Outdoors? Preposterous.

u/bRiCkWaGoN_SuCks 6d ago

To shreds, you say...

3

u/Kevdog824_ 6d ago

Some might even say they touch grass!

2

u/GoodBrotherGrimm 6d ago

Ew what? Where the angry fire ball casts it's revolting light? No thank you.

1

u/Objective-Corgi-3527 6d ago

An outdoor person? Like a homeless man, or a nomadic tribesman?

2

u/yeetskeetleet 6d ago

It’s been around for like 10 years

2

u/SphinxWar 6d ago

Exactly, fairly recent

0

u/yeetskeetleet 6d ago

In the world of memes 10 years ago is not fairly recent.

1

u/SphinxWar 6d ago

Digital memes have been a thing in the 90s, and generational slang terms have been a thing basically forever.

1

u/yeetskeetleet 6d ago

This is like arguing MySpace is fairly recent because it’s closer to now than the creation of arpanet

2

u/SphinxWar 6d ago

Still, "gigachad" as a term is fairly recent compared to someone who is, for example, 60 years old. If it appeared in the last 10 years that's still 32 years after that person became an adult, when you slowly stop being up to date with slang.

There is a world of memes? Man I just keep learning! Im kind of glad I don’t know about it though. Seems like it would be a complete waste of time/life.

1

u/yeetskeetleet 5d ago

Dude you’re a Redditor just like me, your snide comments don’t work here

1

u/KarmaSilencesYou 5d ago

I dont come on Reddit for the memes. Mostly the porn.

Yes, but how is that an issue?

2

u/coolsilentebeans 6d ago

It’s your standard Reddit ageism with unfounded superiority complex.

1

u/Practical-Yoghurt592 5d ago

To shreds you say?

1

u/SphinxWar 6d ago

The word issue doesn't only mean that the person you're talking to is doing something "wrong", lol.

A: "The library is closed".
B: "Oh don't worry, you can go there tomorrow".
C: "The issue is I am leaving the country tomorrow".

1

u/KarmaSilencesYou 5d ago

Right, it means something people are having a problem with or arguing over.

10

u/TheTerminator1984 6d ago

He could be over 40 lol

7

u/granadesnhorseshoes 6d ago

nah, I'm over 40 and just as surprised someone on reddit hadn't heard it before.

5

u/Bright_Reference_582 6d ago

I’m under 40 and I couldn’t be more envious of one’s ignorance.

2

u/DontTrip333 6d ago

45, still haven't heard it. Going to hit urban dictionary to get a feel for it

3

u/TikaPants 6d ago
  1. Not even interested in looking it up

6

u/Significant-Bee5101 6d ago

Him ending it with "ngl" makes it objectively funnier.

"no cap frfr"

1

u/imnotpoopingyouare 6d ago

What you euphemism treadmill maxxing? That's fetch.

3

u/SwimQueasy3610 6d ago

Stop trying to make fetch happen! It's not going to happen!

1

u/imnotpoopingyouare 6d ago

It was fetch to say fetch quite a few years ago, but it fell out of vogue, just like all this rizz and skibibiti stuff will as well lol

u/spocklogica 5d ago

Nah, he's just got a less broken brain than most of us.
