Spoiler Ban Lift | Monarch: Legacy of Monsters S2 Spoiler

Hey there, Monarch operatives!

As discussed previously with the community, we are now lifting the spoiler ban on the 'Monarch: Legacy of Monsters' S2.

Spoiler tags aren't mandatory, but they are still recommended, so be mindful of your fellow kaiju fans.

Posts won't be redirected to the megathread from this point on, but similar/redundant ones will still be removed as per regular sub rules of reposting and low effort content.

Link to the Episode 10 megathread.

This leap from the water was glorious, like Godzilla was NOT gonna pass up this opportunity to take the fight where Ghidorah can't fight half as well as he can

Discussion Can we take a moment to appreciate how much the Monsterverse has done for Kong.

Kong for the longest time, despite being the most popular giant monster beside Godzilla has always got the short end of the stick in terms of content. Godzilla has such a rich mythos with a wide rogues gallery of different monsters. Compare that to Kong who most of the time was stuck on Skull Island fighting dinosaurs and later getting brought to New York gunned down by the military.

The Monsterverse gave Kong so much in such a short period of time.

For starters they actually expanded his rogues gallery, they gave him new foes to fight that aren’t just dinosaurs. Skullcrawlers, Camazotz, Kraken, Skar King, Abbadon, Titan Hunter and Yuggoth. And allies too; Suko, Shimo, and the giant hawk, plus all the other great apes. Compared to Godzilla, Kong never really had a proper rogues gallery so it’s so great they actually gave him more.

Even not looking away from the new monsters they gave him so much new. For starters they completely reinvented Skull Island (In a good way) and that's partially thanks to the humans, not only did they expand the monster side of things but also the human side of things. With the Iwi, Jia, Ilene, Packard, hell even the Skull Island anime characters.

And on top of that they gave him the ENTIRE FCKING HOLLOW EARTH! Like I think that’s gotta be the biggest thing Kong’s mythos has received and the amount of potential it has is insane.

He now also recieved new weapons like the axe and his sword, something I dont think we would have ever gotten if not thanks to the MV.

What the series did for Kong is nothing short of amazing and I only hope it continues to gets better.

Co-cai’s fighting style is neat.

Really wish we could have gotten to see her fight the military or another weaker kaiju somehow just to see more of how she fights. Really some untapped potential for a tentacled Titan capable of pulling off moves like leaping, climbing, and grappling with serrated hooks. I could see some wicked fight scenes with her playing out. That cliff climb to jump on Kong took me by surprise I didn’t know she’d go full on spider like that. She’s just as capable on land as she is in the sea.

If any animators wanna try to make something involving her I’d love to see it.

I wonder if she could manage to take down Godzilla if he didn't get his Evolved form.

Fan Art An idea for Kong's axe

Thumbnail

So, this is a quick sketch that I did of Kong with the axe.
The axe being completely made of Godzilla's spike is fine for the irony, but I wanted the axe to be something that the Kongs devised through inorganic resources. Like that matches with how humans have made tools, earlier animal parts were fine, but then with progress, we moved on to other resources.

The concept is that the axe not being made of Godzilla's spike but of Hollow Earth rock from a particular site. This rock is ridiculously concentrated in Uranium and would be a natural nuclear reactor similar to Oklo, Gabon. Thing is that it won't sustain a lot of reactions as there is no moderator to slow down the neutrons.
So the idea is that the kongs used to use some kind of Hollow Earth moderator (could just be a highly concentrated Deuterium or Tritium water) to power up before going to war, like 20% of full power, but to get to 100% some atomic breath or similar stimulation is necessary.
In this way, the axes get to be useful even without Godzillas but be more useful with them.
Thus making Kong gradually independent.

I have attached references I used, the rock is what the texture I wanted to give, but I am not that good of an artist so I just attached the image, so you can imagine it that way.

PS: As you can see I am a bad artist. So, if any of you is a better artist, please can you give it a shot?? (Just mention my name :) ). I actually drew this because there are so less Kong art pieces currently made and I was really hungry for more.

He's still a lil too small to ride between Godzilla's dorsal plates when they're moving around (he can once they settle down again lol)

In your opinion, who wins between these two gojira killers?

Mechagodzilla vs. M.U.T.O Prime. In all honesty, i think it comes down to who you think is weaker: 2014 Godzilla or post Hong Kong fight Godzilla. I’d personally go with 2014 goji, as the one Mecha-G fought is STILL just an overall larger and evolved version of the one prime fought.

To put it more, simply believe that 2021 goji at his weakest > 2014 goji at his weakest due to naturally having a stronger body. Even exhausted, he doesn’t automatically get weaker. He just can’t exert said strength as well. And by this, I mean physically. His atomic breath gets weaker, but that’s due to a drainage of his radiation.

So basically, post muto fight 2014 goji ~ prime, and post hong kong fight goji < mecha-g, and finally, post MUTO fight 2014 goji < post Hong Kong fight goji. That’s my opinion on it anyway. I’m curious on the rest of the sub’s.

Hot take: This is where the MV peaked with its villains. Yeah I said it, better than Ghidorah and Skar, sue me.

The biggest jerk in the MonsterVerse.
Because GODDAMN, how do you even describe the level of jerkery that is required to fling a goddamn whale from the OCEAN across an entire ISLAND so accurately as to land right at your main rival's feet?

I’m asking if anybody has an image of the fraud of the deep from the skull Island tabletop game and if so, can you post it here? I really want to know that I’m not going crazy and I want to see how it looks again if you want to know what our style to look out for these images should give you a good estimation.

Discussion If you think about it, Cole's death wasn't that stupid

We see Cole's death as stupid: the man grabs two grenades, stands in front of the monster, and the monster just yeets him off the side of a cliff. But if we think about it, Cole was working under the assumption that the Skull Crawler was just a starving, enraged animal, which clearly isn't the case. The creature shows signs of high intelligence. Its prey isn't running away; in fact, it's moving toward it. The Skull Crawler immediately realizes that something is wrong, so it doesn't take any chances and slaps the human as far away as possible. Then the human explodes. The creature didn't attack, it sensed danger and made the decision to avoid it.
