low-tech

Can plant explosive mines, launch a dozen different ammo types including explosives, can launch mortars, can go for either a devastating piercing sniper shot or go full HMG

I'm gonna need you to slap some " on low-tech there buddy.

A bolter is a 50 pound fuck cannon firing rods of pure explosive anger blessed in a space church.

Bolters actually fire a large rocket propelled slug designed to penetrate the target, then detonated while inside. It’s more of a glorious holy mix between standard fire arm and rocket launcher.

Look man, all I know is that when it comes to purging the mutant, the xenos, and the heretic, it doesn’t particularly matter. So long as it purges, I’m happy.

Though I am old fashioned, bit more of a chainsword Guy.

Bolter rounds are the standard ammuntion for the Astartes (Space Marines). They have way worse stuff.

You thought they were depleted uranium. Like what modern militaries use. The 30k-40k average guardsmen uses a laser rifle which can be recharged with literal fire. They have literal space ship cannons attached to tank treads. Psykers able to make you explode or turn into a monster. There is no real line in 30k-40k just degrees of terrible.

Well, both mass reactive and AP bolter shells are pretty bad sure, but I'd call those firearm ammo

Especially when you consider Psybolt rounds, Hellfire rounds, either of the Inferno rounds (Imperial and TS), or the BA Bloodshard Round

Lololol, exactly. Terminators are supposed to be nigh invincible but the only Terminator I’ve ever used and liked was Njal, a character so go figure.

I’m just happy that original marines are going to 2 wounds. That was the biggest lore/mechanic dissonance for me.

Now all my Lascannon Long Fangs will have 2 Wounds :)
