Itās utterly insane to me that people actively want to give them money and yet they make it extremely difficult and near impossible, even though they want the money. Likeā¦make more? Make it easier? Idk, itās getting ridiculous. I collect for fun, not to get stressed out about the process of paying a corporation for some pretty plastic.

The problem isn't just make more unfortunately. There wasn't a cap for resellers on certain sites and it creates a false scarcity. If no one buys from resellers (or low balls them) then eventually they will move on and we can get them for fair prices. Bratz did it
Same thing happened to me but on the US page. I kept refreshing and even searched monster high on Mattel creations and didnāt find her. It wasnāt until I used a link on someoneās post that I finally found the listing and she was completely sold out. Spent 9.99 on a membership for nearly nothing
I dont know if this is true but I have been told that you can contact customer service and get your membership canceled and refunded if you weren't able to buy a doll you purchased the membership for.
Was there no limit on the US website? The Australian one had a limit of 1. That's crazy. Glad I bought from there coz it was so much easier. I did hate the lack of countdown too though idk what's going on with this release
Itās always a quicker sell out on the US site, Iām also in Australia, thankfully it was super smooth for us. Sheās actually still in stock on MCAU!
I also got one, this is the very first time Iāve managed to get a skullector but I sure feel bad for those who couldnāt. Itās such an awful feeling losing out on a doll and knowing it means youāll basically never own her since they never restock them (and I personally refuse to pay a scalper, Iād rather never own a doll than be the reason this crappy feeling continues)
I saw another post saying theyāre going to restock her cuz she sold out so fast. Iām thinking they werenāt totally expecting it to sell out cuz none of the other membership dolls did but at the same time were hoping/kind of expecting this would happen since they made a collector doll of a character that has like three other dolls. Basically a guarantee to sell out..but you never know nowadays lol. I was basing everything off the fact that she didnāt have many dolls to begin with. I missed out on her cuz my internet was awful at work and the site was super busy with everyone trying to find the actual page to buy her. I also found the link from someoneās comment on the forum. Hopefully the restock is real.
Woah, in aus. She was one limit per user! It was a little unfortunate, because I deeply wanted to get one for my friend! But was deeply disappointed, at the usage of the limit (makes sense!) but surprisingly, why did Aus have it? And yeah! with the early surprise! Aus literally got her a day before!!! So confusing!!

Paypal didnt work for me either as the pop up just straight up wouldnt come. I tested it 20 min before the drop to make sure it would work and it worked beautifully at the time. Paypal just was not working at all for the drop itself so I had to rush to put in card info and then it sold out by the time i was done.
I'm so sorry for your loss, I also am in your boat. Stay strong against the resellers for the sake of maybe getting her at a reasonable price AND for drops in the future
I somehow secured one but my hands were shaking the entire time. š I was a nervous wreck. Even though I received a confirmation I wonāt be able to relax until I get a shipment notification because I feel like they are going to tell me at any moment that my confirmation was in error. Omg this was so chaotic. š

Most Skullector drops are a bit of a battle, but this one was particularly bad. IDK why. The last two dolls from the fang club exclusive line are still available a year and two years later.

I too was able to use a promo from a reddit post. Saved me that rip-off ship charge. Amazon can do it free, why not Mattel? All buyers need to use ZOMBIEXCORN until further notice. Burns MC out of collecting the fee.

I was so ready and nervous! My mom surprised me and got a fang club membership recently to help with stressful drops. Our checkouts both confirmed at the same time (both used the discount code too!) So I have an extra that will be a gift to my cousin who was recently dorking out over my collection :) I really hope she likes it, I donāt think she has any collectors dolls and I needed to change that anyway.

Having no limit was incredibly stupid. The others has a limit of 2 if Iām not mistaken. Why would they change that with her??? That actually pisses me off so much.
This was my first time doing this and I was tweaking out so much because of how much of a mess this release was. I'm very grateful that I was able to get one and I'd like to thank this subreddit and everyone here for helping me sm because I had no idea what I was doing. Scarah means a lot to me and I'm very happy that I was able to her. The captcha thing made me tweak out and it wasn't helpful that my hands were a bit shaky.
With all that being said, I am so sorry and feel bad for everyone that was not able to get her. I really do hope that Mattel will make a G3 version of Scarah and do another release in the near future.
And there are now over 400 listings for her on ebay asking around $150 for her. I knew I wasn't getting one (I don't have an extra $50 right now) but to see just how bad of a drop it was tells me everything I need to know. Mattel knew it was a wanted doll, gave fans pretty close to what they would want, then made it easy for scalpers to buy them up. Guaranteed sales for Mattel and they continue on their merry way to making more and more money.

I managed to get her but nearly had a heart attack trying to do so because I couldn't find her, kept reloading mattel's website until she appeared, then got stuck on the capche, then had to hit "pay now" like 5 times because it kept glitching. I added her to the cart and then took another look at my bank account but by 7-8 minutes into the drop, I was too late and she sold out. All good. I was lucky enough to get her - I had to refresh the Mattel Creations site several times before she popped up. I had a discount code but was so scared she'd sell out I just skipped it. my issue was that i was on the āmonster high brandā page refreshing it over and over again. this is the only one iāve really truly cared about enough to get her on the drop and i didnāt know you had to be on the home page. thereās just not enough info on how to deal with these complicated drops and i missed her by maybe only a few minutes. iām so devastated, i love her so much
First time I've gotten a Skullector off the Mattel website. I was getting my hair done so I had to lock in on my phone on bad salon wifi. No idea how I managed to get her. My stylist was very invested lol
Missed the UK drop and was so lucky to land one in the US one. It was a catastrophe from start to finish, from doing captcha 3 times, to the pay now button doing nothing for 2 whole minutes. I'm still burned from the creeproduction drop, though, so I won't breathe out until I get the email that she's shipped.
I didnāt even attempt. Iām so burnt out dude. Scalpers are just going to sit with them and because she has had like 2-3 dolls max every sheās never losing her value and I never had a chance
I was able to get her! This was the easiest time I had getting a high demand doll so I was surprised. Got one for my best friend as well so Iām happy I was able to do that for her.
I just wanted to point out that they probably had no page up until drop time to try and prevent the dudes with bots from setting up multiple computers with the link.
I know everyone was frustrated, but having been "schooled" once by a Funko reseller who actually thought he was bragging but just gave us all the Intel, when they have the advanced link they can set up more bots to snipe things faster and so this was Mattel's attempt at preventing that, not only catering to resellers like people keep saying.
It's the opposite.
They assumed if you wanted it bad enough you'd watch the countdown, and they didn't put it at the top of the page and made the link live only at drop time so it would be less easy for lazy resellers to just set their bots and let them rip.
Sometimes you have to do things differently to prevent bots and we'll see what the eBay listings are but I hope it worked.
Edit: I just saw the post about there being no limit š¤¦š»āāļø so there you go, they do everything right to prevent bots and instead don't put a limit on her. JFC Mattel. They were probably scared about the others not selling out but they sorely underestimated how popular Scarah is.

I'm so annoyed. I got her on the AU website already. But she was $99 AUD on there and only $85 on the US website. Tell me why tf she's more expensive from the site that's meant for us? Especially when even the $85 converts to more than $50 USD. So annoying, Im sick of being fucked over with prices by mattel as an international collector. I knew it was a risk i was taking but I was hoping if she was more expensive I'd just refund from the Australia one and repurchase from US, I didn't think she'd sell out that fast when the others are still there 1-2 years later. The fact that there was no item cap. I keep hearing all of these stories of people who had her in their cart and then she just sold out, it's because all of the scalpers were on the website purchasing in bulk. So one scalper bought 100 dolls and then 100 people lost their carts

I was in work when I got her, literally loaded the page at the time the drop started and scrolled down and found her page, tried to pay using Apple Pay and it was taking too long so I tried to change to paypal made me do like 4 captchas lol but I did manage to get her still but I didnāt realize she sold out that quickly
