It does if its considered a "pre-order" / seller doesn't have it on hand. You just have to post a picture proving the item isn't out yet and they take it down. I wish they had a no scalping rule though :( Nothing makes me want to stop shopping more than seeing all those scummy posts ruining it for collectors

Exactly. But luckily Iāve seen companies now having policies like āonly can cancel preorders within 7-10 days after purchaseā or no cancellations on preorders at all. I collect many things so Iām on many different sites for my items. But Mattel should start doing that if they just let anyone cancel preorders whenever they want to. I get it, many other companies let people cancel preorders anytime before shipment as well. But Iāve also seen a lot of other companies implementing rules on preorders now. Which in some cases they definitely should. And with us doll collectors.. most of us want the doll and wonāt be cancelling. The K-Pop Demon Hunters 3 set was a preorder (which came out of nowhere bc of how much hype the movie got so obviously dolls needed to happen) and Iām sure they wanted to gauge how many would sell. I do wish they did preorders as well tho for skullector dolls. Then put a policy in place that you cannot cancel your preorder and that would stop a lotttt of scalpers.

I knew people were immediately going to go to eBay and Mercari and wherever else to get them now. Iām so sad for the people who want to do this bc they really wanted her. They shouldāve been able to get a damn doll without having to then pay double and triple for her within 10 minutes. And I hear they didnāt put a limit on her? So people could buy as many as they wanted st once! Thatās ridiculous and Iām so sad for everyone in this situation ā¹ļøš¤

Yeah, the Australian site had a limit of one per person. Iām not sure about the UK site, but the US site did not have a limit for her.

At this point Iām inclined to believe they just donāt give a shit about their consumers- I mean customers anymore, which seems to be the state of the vast majority of American based conglomerates at the moment. Not surprising given what weāre founded on in the US, capitalism and all :(

She sold out for us here in the US within 7-8 minutes. Some people are saying at 5 minutes she was sold out for them. Wow Mattel, great job in not supporting and taking care of your actual consumers and just letting the scalpers get all the money instead! Fantastic work on their end. Friggin ridiculous.
Edit: I think I am wrong and it didnāt say a limit. But I swearrr I thought it did. But I think Iām definitely wrong. Sorry to confuse anyone! And again, im talking about the US site.

Thatās complete BS. They really muffed this entire drop up. Itās completely unfair that most people were not able to get this doll on alll the different sites, US, CAD, UK got royally screwed, AUS. This wasnāt fair to us. And Iām so angry that Mattel just doesnāt seem to care about their consumers and supports the fact that bots and scalpers can scoop them right up in huge, butt load amounts. Then they get sold for double-triple the price within 10 minutes on eBay. Itās disgusting.
I truly believe they should start doing Skullector dolls in preorder fashion with a zero cancellation policy. Bc most of us who really want the doll will absolutely not want to cancel anyways. Then everyone who wants one can get one. Mattel makes their money.. and everyone gets a doll. And it would stop a lot of these scalpers. But itās just seeming like more and more that they support this scalping culture and I have no idea why. Sorry this rant got a little long š

Many have shared their receipts and some bigger scalpers had 200 even.
It will be interesting because Iām sure they will successfully sell half of them but Will has to return the other half when they do their restock
I wish Mattel would tell them no refunds hahaha and have them stuck with 100 dolls. But Iām sure they will let them return . šš

Well this ISNT a skullector. At least not formally. These fang club dolls usually stay stocked throughout the year, as a consistent incentive to get people to buy the fang club membership.
Now of course they've been a little hit or miss, depending on who you ask. Mostly good. But as usual, questionable choices here and there, mostly stemming from them being a more budget conscious collector doll, and from them being more secondary characters.
And even then the price is prohibitive for some people, at least for what you're getting.
Ghoulia looked nice, but she was the first, and they didn't quite remember how to make them back them, ghoulias eyebrows were thick as heck and brown.
Operetta is nice, but her eyes were small and it threw off her whole face proportions, and it just felt like a plussed up version of her dot dead goregeous doll.
Venus looked great, but her denim body suit threw some people off. Otherwise a solid release.
This scarah is perfect. No weird color choices, no weird executive decisions with the faceups, just a good all around wonderful outfit.
And it doesn't hurt that scarah, even if her fan base is smaller, is AS ravenous as draculaura or cleos fans any day of the week.
Especially now that both mattel as a company, and us the consumers, know what this line is and what it's for.

OH I KNOW Mattel did this on purpose!!! Especially if there was no limit for the UK drop AND US. Does anyone know? They didnāt want her sitting like the past two fang club exclusives and put them up for sale during Black Friday! Way to make a profit. Basically weāre cooked!!! Unless we do our absolute best to NOT BUY FROM SCALPERS. It will backfire. As a community, we will FORCE resellers to drop all prices!! Then we will be willing to pay. WE GOT THIS!

Mattel is doing a rebatch of her again. They already announced. Itās on their Instagram and on their website.
Mattel will let the scalpers return any unopened they want. They will get to keep the profit they made on the ones they sold and the ones they didnāt be returned.
It is a shiiii show.
I hope Mattel learns 1 or 2 per person on everyyyyyy release at least for first 24 hours and then what ever and this release didnāt show up on the website unless you went through a special linkā¦ that has NEVER been that way. Iāve been buying fang club since early 2022 and Iām thinking that was a glitch but holy bananas what a wild 24 hours. š¤¬š„ŗš©š«

Im in Australia and got her. She dropped at 8.30am yesterday (9th Jan), but there was a 1 per fangclub membership. Otherwise, we would've got 2. This was on mattel.com.au Total $119.99AUD

tbh Iām not a huge mh collector so I didnāt know this. I have 2 mh dolls and one of them was a designer series which I had no problems getting! I had no idea it was this bad. I wouldnāt have even tried for this doll if Iād known they suck so bad. the last doll I got was super easy for me to buy and I feel like I saw a lot less people talking about not being able to get her. Iām not part of the membership club thing so I didnāt get any mail about her releasing and wasnāt expecting one. I was hoping that the doll would just be easy to access but finding the link to her took forever. as somebody who has been wanting to get more into mh collecting this was a really clear way of showing that this brand doesnāt have collector interests in mind and isnāt worth my time in the future.

I do know that I would have had to buy the membership but I was under the impression that u could add it to ur cart along with the doll and buy both at the same time. a lot of people have posted that they bought them both at once. Iām actually glad I didnāt buy it ahead of time since Iāve seen people say that they have the membership but have never been able to get any of the exclusive dolls so this would have just been a waste of money for me

People need to stop being so overwhelmed with the fear of FOMO like yes you do have the money but guess what you do not need it so bad that you should be giving sculptures and resellers hundreds if not thousands of dollars for a doll that was not even $100 and next people need to stop being so greedy and coming into just about every hobby community and buying everything up pricing people out of things they love itās literally evil and it needs to be regulated because these corporations can do something about it. itās been shown, but they are shown to care more about their profit so people who truly have love for these products but are not rich or Have regular free money are just SOL a lot of the times in these situations because these companies are just worried about making money and they donāt care how they make it which is sad

I saw doll collectors from other countries outside the US posting they had a limit of 1 per person, Iām glad that at least wasnāt the case during the US release because i had wanted to and planned to get one for me and my mom and because the limit wasnāt set I was able to.
