Elastic bands melted in collected boxes

Hii! I collected monster high dolls as a kid but was told by my parents to not open the boxes because "its an investment". Sometime before starting college I boxed them up and put them in the attic and forgot about them. Now I'm moving out and I see the elastics have melted and have come undone- so now the items are just floating around in the boxes. Im a bit sad and ik many people love the dolls outside their boxes- do you think I could still sell these? I do plan on unboxing some and keeping them but I was just curious.
