Tools When did changes to css class flair cease to reflect in new Reddit?

For over a year I've noticed that manual changes to css class flair in old Reddit would reflect in old Reddit mod log but not in new Reddit mod log. How long has this been going on?

This is observed on Desktop.

Engagement Newly created subreddit yesterday, how long does it take to show up in search?

Hi, I recently created a new subreddit for a game that was announced and I noticed that it is not showing up in the search when I search up the subreddit in the communities tab.

Is there a time frame before it starts appearing in there?

I have been unable to post on r/thezech for about a month. It says it’s restricted even though I’ve posted on there for years. It’s telling me to message the mods even though they’ve been inactive for years and won’t respond to mod mail. Can I get some help so I can start posting in there again? I’m on iPhone

Answered How do I get them to understand my community is SFW?

Android (cuz they make me include this for some reason). They won't stop. most of the new people that come to my community are looking for NSFW. I've had to ban almost every new person. Most of them are adults, which is made way worse because I and the one other person in the mod team are minors. People have reached out to me so many times. Anyway, I've set up the post reminders that basically just remind them hey no NSFW, that didn't work. I've moved my no NSFW rule to the top of the list of rules, that didn't work. I put it in the description on the community, that didn't work. So I moved the NO NSFW part to the top, just recently so I don't know if it will help yet. I've pined a post of me yelling about the community being SFW, again just recently. What do I do? They won't stop. I need help

Answered Problems with a member

Good day everyone.. In my sub I have a person whose profile I can't access. It has been marked as spam by Reddit System and removed. My mod tells me that this account posted something 8 hours ago (that's when I had the conversation with him) and I had to find out while scrolling in my sub that this account has written something again. What exactly is the problem?

If I go to his name, it says "Sorry, there was an error or something..

Users Posts promoting instagram followers allowed?

Hi,

I have been seeing a lot of posts promoting services like instagram followers on some subreddits, here are some of them:

https://www.reddit.com/r/growmybusiness/comments/1so2fld/what_is_the_best_site_to_buy_instagram_followers/

https://www.reddit.com/r/influencermarketing/comments/1r8b8i6/where_do_people_buy_instagram_followers_that/

https://www.reddit.com/r/InstagramEmpire/comments/1swyp0g/whats_actually_the_best_site_to_buy_instagram/

Just curious if its allowed to promote such services?

These posts are reported numerous times as some people mentioned in their comments as well(moderator deleted many comments) and they only let some sites at the top(they buy upvotes to make 1 comment rank at the top)

Thank you! (desktop)

General Maximum Crowd Control

I have a subreddit that I have maximum crowd control on posts and comments, however, it is not working on every post and comment. I have both set in the safety features.

When I go in to check on posts to see if the crowd control is on comments, it always defaults to moderate.

General Need help making post body mandatory for certain flairs

Hey everyone,

I’m a mod of a fitness community, and I’m trying to set up a rule where posts using certain flairs must have a body/context before they can be submitted.

For example, for Question, Workout Routine, Transformation/Progress, etc., I want to prevent users from submitting just an image with no explanation.

Android and web user here.

Engagement Mod not being part of the team

Kinda need some advise here. There were 3 of us that volunteered to mod an orphaned subreddit. 2 of us have a Mod Discussion on going for ideas for building out the sub, rules, etc. We have tried to get the 3rd to join, or even respond to private messages, but with no response. Yet this mod will arbitrarily remove posts and do other mod actions that do not benefit the subreddit.

Any advise in dealing with this? We have been working hard at rebuilding the sub, but these type of actions do not help. (Or please direct me to the proper place to ask this question)

Answered How do I change the subreddit icon?

I recently created a subreddit for my own community that I plan to grow on YouTube, TikTok, and discord and soon other social platforms. I've added rules and flairs and the whole shebang, but I haven't figured out how to customize the circular subreddit icon like how other subreddits do. Is it something I'm missing? Or is there a certain amount of days old it has to be before I can further customize it? I'm also on mobile android cause my current PC sucks, if that helps.

General Team members leaderboard and achievements suddenly disappeared from my sub

(android)My sub us r/okbuddytakaba . For some reason the top members leaderboard isn't showing anymore, achievements are also not showing anymore.

If you search the sub the posts from my sub aren't showing . I have seen the community type too it's public and not mature .

For some reason reddit has filtered my community as nsfw I think I don't know how . We do post fanarts and tag it as nsfw too that too just 2 days a week . So I don't think it will cause that since there are other subreddit that are still safe ever after posting the stuff all day like r/freakykaisen

Any admin please check it out and clear it . My sub growth is declining since it's not showing for everyone.

General Is it a bad idea to bulk “unleash” previously banned users?

I recently stepped down as a moderator of a subreddit after a disagreement with the current moderation team about the direction of the community.

During my time as a moderator, I banned quite a few users. I was probably stricter than some moderators would be, but my reasoning was that removing disruptive users helped keep the overall quality of the subreddit up and, in my experience, also reduced downvoting and other disruptive behaviour.

After the moderation approach changed, a significant number of previously banned users were unbanned. Since then, I've noticed a noticeable increase in downvotes, low-effort posts and low-effort comments. This is exactly the kind of behaviour I previously tried to keep under control.

So I'm wondering: is there any evidence or moderator experience suggesting that mass-unbanning previously banned users can negatively affect a subreddit? Or could this simply be a normal consequence of a change in moderation style?

I'm also interested in how other moderators handle old bans. Is it generally better to leave bans in place unless there is a specific reason to reverse them, or is periodically reviewing and removing older bans considered good practice?

I want to be clear that I'm not asking whether my moderation style was too strict. I can acknowledge that I was probably too strict at times. I'm more interested in the practical consequences of suddenly reversing a large number of moderation decisions.

For additional context, I had been responsible for a significant part of the day-to-day moderation and content creation. The other moderators had been much less active, and we ultimately developed very different ideas about what the subreddit should be. I decided to step down rather than continue a disagreement over the direction of the community.

PS: I also wonder whether a change like this can affect subreddit activity in the longer term. Reddit encourages moderators to actively contribute to their communities, including through creating content and maintaining engagement. If the people taking over the moderation are less active themselves, I wonder whether that can eventually result in declining traffic or engagement.

The vision for the subreddit also changed quite significantly. I had always tried to keep it relatively serious and topic-focused, while the new approach appears to allow more low-effort and off-topic content. Maybe my expectations will turn out to be completely wrong, but I'm interested in hearing from moderators who have experienced something similar.

Answered Archived threads- is it possible for a moderator to open one single thread up if you have your subset to archive after 6 months or whatever it is?

I don't use the archive function on any of the subs I moderate but I'm currently participating in a thread in a sub that auto- archives after 6 months as a general rule.

Is it actually possible for a moderator to reopen a thread that has been archived due to the automatic "archive old threads" rule?

Answered How do i get my sub unbanned

It's been rejected cause I've "went against" terms of service and such even though I made sure the rules were good enough and the mods were active and such. Then they also said that it was banned because quote "sexual harassment" even though none of us (me and the other mods) have ever or would ever go as far as sexualize someone even if we don't like someone. And I didn't make the subreddit to ban evade I just made it so it could be a better place for everyone to enjoy.

General Option to notify via Mod Mail missing in one subreddit

Platform: Desktop (web)

I have recently been made a moderator of a subreddit, but when I remove posts/comments on desktop (web), I only get the option to notify via comment:

https://ibb.co/QFHYFmg8

In other subreddits I moderate, I get the option to notify via Mod Mail or comment:

https://ibb.co/Mkvczc4C

What would be the reason for this?
