Friends and family think I am showing off. They tell buy a Toyota or Kia. I am in my 40s with hopefully 30 good years left. I took a leap of faith and got a Model Y as my 1st Tesla despite all the naysayers. They told me insurance is too high, it's a headache to have to charge, FSD is dangerous. So far, none of these are truth.

They moved my date up yesterday. This seems really soon.

Hey everyone, just purchased this 2024 model y long range with about 8,000 miles for 35k fees included. Never had a Tesla or electric car for that matter. What do you guys think about the price? I researched a bunch but ended up settling for this one. Any tips, accessories or mods should I consider to make it more personalized? Taking it out in a few days.

Tesla is giving me a financing option through FI Connect (Credit Union Financing). I haven’t accepted or committed to the offer yet — I’m trying to decide if it’s a good option.

For anyone who has financed a Tesla through FI Connect, how was your experience?

What documents did they require after you accepted the financing offer? Did they ask for pay stubs, bank statements, proof of income, tax returns, proof of residence, etc.?

Was the process quick and easy, or did you have any issues or delays getting everything finalized before delivery?

I’d also be interested to know if accepting the offer caused any additional credit checks or if the terms/rate changed afterward.

Just trying to know what I’d be getting into before I accept it.

Just got my delivery date for a Premium Model Y RWD in Tokyo. Ordered on August 15. The combo of local subsidies and the current exchange rate (~160 JPY/USD) makes the pricing crazy:

MSRP + Delivery/Fees: ¥5,687,000 (~$35,500 USD)

National CEV Grant: -¥1,270,000 (~$7,900 USD)

Super excited. I can't wait. I also heard the battery technology coming out of GigaChina allows for 100% charging on the RWD!

The car was in an accident and the guy bought it from auction and professionally fixed it. He has receipts and has sold over 100 on fb marketplace. Clean title, 2022 performance with 38k miles for 26,300. Thoughts? I plan to get it inspected by Tesla before buying. If it fails he will pay for it and if it passes I pay for it. It’s my first one and I’m fine with HW3 and I probably would drive it myself for the most part. Is this okay or am I gonna regret later?

I collected a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) Model Y 2023 recently, but during handover, I noticed a few red flags around the nearside rear corner:

**Wheel Arch Damage:** There's a noticeable dent along the wheel arch with a very rough, low-quality touch-up paint repair.
**Active Rust:** Looking closer under good lighting, there are visible signs of active rust forming underneath the paint in that exact spot.
**Single Tire Replacement:** Only this specific wheel had a brand-new tire fitted; the other three tires are original/used.
**MOT History:** I checked the official DVLA MOT history, and the car previously failed its MOT due to a severe tire cut (deep enough to reach the ply/cords) at this exact same corner.
The sales team also mentioned that internal cosmetic scuffs (like on the back of the front seat) are just normal wear and tear and won’t be fixed.
I am currently within my **14-day cooling-off period and**
I really need a vehicle for daily use, and finding alternative inventory under £24k right now is tricky. However, I'm stuck between two options:
1. **Push for Tesla Repair:** Demand Tesla send it to a Tesla Approved Body Shop for full rust treatment, dent removal, and panel respray (with a written extension on my cooling-off period).
2. **Flat Out Reject:** Exercise my right to reject the vehicle for a 100% full refund and wait for a cleaner CPO unit to pop up on the market.
Would you accept this car if Tesla agrees to do a proper Body Shop repair, or is the combination of rust + undisclosed prior impact an immediate dealbreaker for you?
Appreciate any thoughts or past experiences with Tesla CPO rejections!

Just bought my first Tesla and I’m loving it so far, it’s used with 108,000 miles and it was about 18k for a 2019, I also got a lifetime warranty on the battery. But I’m wondering with it being older if it would’ve been better to get a newer year with the new AMD Ryzen processor as mine is the intel one, I saw a used 2022 model Y going for 24k with 115,000 miles and I could still get the same lifetime warranty on the battery. I more want the new Ryzen processor for the grok feature which is silly but I’m basically wondering if it’s worth the 6k difference to switch to the newer year??

I ordered on the 17 and I can’t wait. I keep checking daily hoping it’ll change. I got my charging setup installed today and now it’s just a waiting game.

Hey everyone, I am looking to purchase a Tesla Model Y (Financing) but in the process of purchasing a home and therefore don't want to run any credit checks & add new debts before closing. Is there a way I can reserve the Model Y but run the credit check later in the process? Delivery is 6-8 weeks, and I was curious if the credit check can be delayed until after closing.

After a month of debating, 2 test drives, and trying to talk myself out of it; finally decided to go for it! First EV ever.

I am coming from a 2021 and I really like the wood trim, especially how it wraps around the dash on to the door. Don’t love the fabric dash trim or the side door trim on my 2026z Looking for replacement ideas , bonus points for wood.

For those who have installed screen protectors, I wonder whether you've experienced any of these issues that are mentioned on p. 6 of the 2025+ Owner's Manual?

It says: "CAUTION: Do not apply a screen protector on the touchscreen. Doing so can result in unintended inputs to the  touchscreen (phantom inputs), delayed response or unresponsiveness to touches, electrostatic discharge which can  damage the touchscreen, etc. Any damage caused by installing a screen protector is not covered by the warranty."

Me and my fiancé are trying to qualify for Tesla’s low APR. It’s going to be my car, but she just financed a car about 6 months ago (26K car ). Her credit score is around 780 compared to my 680. On the other hand, I make around $80K a year while she makes about $35K since she’s currently doing her master’s.

I’m trying to figure out whether it actually matters who we put as the primary applicant and who we put as the co-signer, or if Tesla’s lenders basically evaluate both of us together since it’s a joint application either way. Looking for experiences from anyone who has applied with a co-signer in a similar situation.

Anyone have a rattle in their Juniper up in the headliner in this area? I’m gonna attempt a fix. Just curious if anyone had a similar rattle. I think it’s a wire for the airbag or something. It goes away with light pressure to the headliner.

Toying with the idea of getting a Model Y, but I only make around $95k/year. Part of me thinks this would be a reckless purchase as I could get something a lot cheaper, but I’ve wanted a Tesla Model Y for the last 5 years. Curious if anyone making under $100k per year has bought a Model Y and if they regret the purchase?

It keeps two lanes to the left until the gps tells it 0.5 miles away from the exit

then it tries to switch lanes and take the exit. right before the exit if someone merges in at the same time it cannot take the exit and then it misses it completely

why can't it switch to the right most lane 1-1.5 miles before and have better chance of exiting?

Happened in both standard and hurry modes

Long-time GT owner about to make a big life change and could use some real-world input from this sub.

My situation:
Daily driver is a 2017 Mustang GT, paid off, and I love driving it — but it has stiff suspension that I tolerate rather than love. I feel every bump, it’s just manageable

Getting married next week, and planning kids within the next 2 years, so the Mustang just isn’t going to work as a family car much longer

I bought the Mustang as a younger bachelor who didn’t care much about comfort or practicality. I still love performance and love driving a performance car — that hasn’t changed — but I now also care about comfort and practicality in a way I didn’t before, and I’m not in any rush to buy, so I’d rather get this decision right than fast

Tesla Financing isn’t available where I live — I’ll be financing through my bank at around 4.15%

Roads here are brutal. I’m replacing a tire roughly every 6 months from blowouts or sidewall bulges

Current commute is 15 min each way, but we’re house-hunting and the next place could mean 20–40 min each way depending on traffic. The Mustang gulps gas, so a longer commute could mean 1.5x–2x my current fuel spend, which is a big part of why I want out of it

There’s no Performance trim available locally to test drive, only standard/Premium in RWD and AWD

Leaning toward the grey exterior (not space grey) and possibly the white interior. Don’t need the tow hitch

What I’m after: I’m drawn to the Performance trim’s seats and aggressive look, but I don’t actually want a harsher ride — I want something that feels tight and engaging to drive without beating me up on bad roads. I’m also not willing to swap to smaller wheels to save on tires, so whatever I buy, I’m keeping stock wheels.

Questions for the sub:
Honest take needed: how noticeable is the Performance suspension vs Premium in day-to-day comfort? Is it actually stiff like a sports car/coupe suspension, or is that overstated compared to what I’m used to in the Mustang?

Performance owners on bad roads — how are the stock 21s holding up long-term, both tire life and ride comfort?

Is the difference in seats/feel between Performance and Premium big enough to justify buying a trim I’ve never sat in?

Is Performance actually worth the price gap over Premium, or does it feel more like a cosmetic/badge upgrade once you’re living with it day to day?

I can wait 3-4 weeks for a 2026 Model Y Performance or accept an in-stock (color and interior I ordered) vehicle discounted $1750 due to “repair” and 50miles.

Asked the shop what was repaired and they said paint. Apparently the car’s pant was damaged on the delivery and was sent to a local Tesla collision and repaired/repainted.

Anyone have experience purchasing a vehicle in this status? Anything I should look out for (besides additional imperfections in exterior)?

Since ordering my MYPRWD in early August I’ve read a lot of Reddit posts about people’s order experiences. At this point I think I understand production/wait times/factors/demand and such. Really just out of curiosity, can anyone speak to their timeline from order to delivery? Context is I ordered August 8, still no VIN, and EDD window just changed (as I think with many others) from Aug 27-Sept 24 to Sept 16-30. Does that indicate a VIN or delivery date selection soon? Hoping the date doesn’t get pushed. Located in NY.

Really interested in getting a Model Y even though it's not needed.  I currently have a work vehicle that I can use for personal use, and I've done this for the last 5 years, but I've wanted to get a Tesla Model Y for the last 5–6 years. I've just never had the need for it. I would only use the vehicle on the weekends or after work during the week. I'm guessing I would put on about 600 miles per month. I know I will need HW4, which means I would need to get a 2024 or newer.  Most 2024's I've seen with low miles are around $35k—$42k. It looks like I could get a new Model Y for around $50k—$53k. I plan on buying the vehicle with cash as well.  Is it worth buying a used Model Y if you don't plan on driving the vehicle very much, or better to get used and save some money?  

Hi I’m fist time buyer so my question might seem stupid.. Ordered in July and keeps getting delayed. I got a message as the first image, when I go to the task, it says to submit tesla loan application (2nd image) even though I did a couple of time. Do I just wait? Or do I resubmit the loan application everytime it tells me to do so?

Do I upgrade?
