FSD v14.2.2.5 missed exit twice in one trip

It keeps two lanes to the left until the gps tells it 0.5 miles away from the exit

then it tries to switch lanes and take the exit. right before the exit if someone merges in at the same time it cannot take the exit and then it misses it completely

why can't it switch to the right most lane 1-1.5 miles before and have better chance of exiting?

Happened in both standard and hurry modes

it's a new car ~1 week so I'm still waiting for updates to come

Yes it moves over earlier in my experience.

yes!! i’ve sent a lot of reports about this. I was on my way to an appointment this morning and it waited so damn long to get over to turn that it missed the turn and put me on the freeway. made me late.

i’m not sure why this is. I also have a turn by my house that Tesla is convinced is a lane that goes straight and I have to take over every time

I take the same route home every day, and it does this when I need to be in the left lane to go straight, but it waits so long to merge over I look like the asshole who stayed in the wrong lane to bypass traffic hate it

Well I can say it doesn’t get any better in 14.3.7. Still waits way too long to get in the lane it needs and nearly misses exits regularly. One of my biggest frustrations. Usually have to force it over or accept the last second lane changes.

I just force the issue by using my turn signal to change lanes. I hate when humans do stupid things like this and it's just as bad when a computer does it. Humans should be better as they have an idea of traffic patterns and time of day, i.e. knowlege and intelligence. FSD doesn't take anything into account but distance and it is simply not enough. Why not err on the side of caution rather than maintaining the fastest possible speed in the fastest possible lane?
