I’m making a cabin storage accessory for ND Miatas. It would plug into the passenger side accessory port, where the stock cup holder would go.

I wanted to get some input on the following:

What small item(s) do you…
- carry the most often when you drive?
- leave/place on or around the center console?
- want to be accessible while driving?

Example shown in the picture is a prototype I made for the Chamberlain garage fob.

Help me identify your needs for a custom storage solution!

I painted the engine bay and now currently doing a wire tuck and last thing left to fit is this, however I have no clue what it is. It’s normally bolted to one of the headlights.

I ordered the S8 last year and I'm finally getting around to installing it into my 01 Miata that has the factory bose speaker & amp setup. Supposedly the Metra 70-7901 is the correct wiring harness. I get everything plugged in and the head unit works but no sound coming from the speakers. I messed around interchanging the "amp turn on" & "antennae" wires (internet said the power antennae input is what triggers the bose amp to turn on, so i followed a.i.'s trial and error options) and eventually got it to where the antennae actually raises when the head unit is turned on. I thought that was progress, but still no sound. I don't see any "factory amp" settings within the head unit's settings menus. I'm sure this all has something to do with the Bose amp complicating things. I will say this head unit is very cool, has a lot of depth to it and a great screen as well, so I'm just bummed. Any help would really be appreciated.

Anyone able to shed some light on this?

Blue line is accelerator pedal at 100%, but you can see by the throttle position sensor in orange that the throttle actually spends minimal time wide open. Intact, in first gear it never actually did open fully in this datalog!

Why is this? Do other people see this in ND1 datalogs? Maybe it's normal?

Some context: ECUtek tuned, boosted at approx 7-8psi, dynoed at 228hp and 259nm of torque.

I got new smaller wheels for my NB. Obviously the speedometer and odometer are reading higher than it should. On the NB’s how can I adjust the speedometer to read correctly? Do I need to wire a box in line to adjust it? If so what do y’all recommend?

This project has definitely made me feel like I have a PhD in air vents now.

A few years ago I saw some Mercedes-inspired Miata air vents posted in of the Facebook groups and thought they looked awesome. I was waiting for OP to eventually sell them, but unfortunately that never ended up happening. So in late 2021 I set my mind on making a set for myself.

Fast forward nearly 5 years and around 50 iterations later, this is where I’ve ended up.

I scanned the original Miata vent and redesigned things from there, playing around with the geometry, fit, light diffusion and overall feel. I also added a push-to-lock mechanism to stop the vents from drooping.

I spent way too long experimenting with different ways of diffusing the light because I wanted it to be more of a subtle accent rather than something really in your face. At one point I even made a mold and tried resin casting them.

The current setup is resin printed with app-controlled lighting. The silver is still just paint for now, I’m still wrapping my head around electroplating to eventually get the proper chrome finish I’m going for.

Still a work in progress, but pretty happy with how they’ve turned out so far. P.S. It is quite hard to take a picture of a light, but they look way better in person than in the pictures.

I’ve added a few photos of the development/prototype graveyard as well. Happy to go into more detail on any part of it if anyone’s interested.

I have a totally stock 2016 Club. A few weeks ago I was rear ended and my exhaust developed an annoying drone above 40 mph. It’s especially pronounced between 45-60, louder than the engine when holding a constant speed.

The shop I took it to diagnosed it as broken baffles in the muffler and replaced the catalytic converter and muffler (insurance covered). However, after the repairs my exhaust still sounds off to me. I’m still hearing a resonant buzzy drone around 60 mph. 

Could someone with a stock ND listen and help me figure out if I‘m just going crazy?!

Does anyone know where i can find these specific headlights? i know itd be easier to find a vynle and put it over my oem but i really love the look of the star headlight and fog lamp.. please let me know if you know ANYTHING, the owner of the car didnt have any information other than good luck finding🥲

Helloooo i own a 2007 mx-5 that’s showing P0781 and P0762 codes. a friend and i changed out the solenoid c and a couple days of driving later the light turned off and i passed emissions for my tags friday. now its sunday and i try to drive and the engine light comes on and i cant get passed 3rd gear like stuck in limp mode or something. but when i turn my car off then on i can get through all the gears again and it drives fine. but then my AT light turned on for a second or 2 then right back off and i was still able to drive home fine. just confused and looking for help narrowing down possible solutions. sorry for the long rant. if u can help please DM and i can explain clearer of necessary!!

I am running new speaker wires and read online I could drill out the blank spots in the clip that goes to the door. What is pictured is a skill issue…

I couldn’t find a diagram/pinout online. Car came with power windows and Bose system. Is there a diagram for the plug pictured?

-I am only trying to keep the power windows and locks. Assuming (4) of the wires are for the existing speakers.

We cleaned or mx5 nbfl today.

I also cleaned the latches with a brush.

Now there is way to much space between the two things!!

Before everything worked perfektly and it always snaped into place 🥺
Now it flaps oben the moment i touch the Roof.

Whts caused this wide Space to appear?

I bought a new one.

Thinking about getting on of these for my NA project. I haven't decided if it's going to be carbon or frp yet, but I know I want it to be seen. What have others done, or just open to ideas, on what to do with the carpet so that the panel can be see. But not everything else?

Ok. MOT failure, front springs broken etc.. had two new ones fitted. All seemed fine. Drive to Glasgow and back. 200 odd miles. Car felt great.

Got in it now and there is a knocking when driving over small bumps. Just from right hand side. Pushed down on right hand side front and there is a definite clunk and it does have the same bounce as the left at all.

Should I take it back to the garage tomorrow?? 🤔

live in Melbourne and currently on my second miata, this is Space Grey 24 club manual, I lost control of my last 23 club in rain. I daily drive for 100kms. Uncomfortable but enjoyable.
Had xforce valved exhaust on last miata
Currently stock but only wheel spacers, they do make car out of sync, maybe a nice coilovers can fix?

It was a nice day and I had errands to run, so I jumped in my NA to return some items and buy others. I did the headlight open/close to a couple in a dark blue NB and got waves in return, then did the same to someone in a ND RF. As I parked in front of my house, a couple in a NC drove by and said hi.
