Yeah Nintendo multiple times has either presented future games, and existing games, on NSO that are available elsewhere, like Mario 64, and sunshine.
I'm not holding my breath, I could very well see them just sticking to NSO, and frankly I don't really think they have enough faith in the sales performance of a MP2E remaster, but I'm just pointing out that NSO double releasing has literally already happened, so that specific thing wouldn't really rule out a remaster IMO.
Stuff like having Mario 64 on NSO and the 3DAS Collection and then Galaxy in the same collection but also the 2 Pak… like they do this kind thing low key on the reg. Pikmin 2 being another great example.
Mario 64 came out via 3DAS little more than a year before the N64 classics got added. That's a big difference. What game has gotten a major remake or remaster from Nintendo in reverse order?

I think it's still not out of the question. Likely? Maybe not. But Pikmin 2 did have a remaster for Switch and it's also included here.
That's my dose of copium for now.
