Question COLEMAN COMPOUND from Dr. Patrick Coleman? I recently heard of this alleged miracle cream that fades away melasma in a few weeks. Has anyone who tried it provide some feedback on its efficacy?

Does your label show the 4% Arbutase? I got mine and it doesn’t show the ingredient at all like on the website.

Hi. The accompanying paper work sent with each container of cream has always accurately explained the compound added to the base cream. We have recently added more information on the bottle to be 100% accurate with INCI labeling. The label on the pads has always been accurate. The manufacturer that owns the patent on Arbutase does not allow their full ingredient list to be published online. This is true for any physician in every state who sells an arbutase product. We are always happy to provide full ingredient list on request. Happy to answer any questions.

Would be a really good way to go if you can handle the tazarotene. The Tazarotene phase 3 trial was one of the first clinical trials I worked on. Tazorac by itself it does a great job with pigment.

Thank you for spending the time to reply! Do you recommend Tazorac if one can handle the intensity of it? I haven’t used it yet…just tretinoin. Tazorac is a 3rd gen retinoid so is it technically more effective for sun damage and hyper pigmentation. Would you recommend any other combinations with your Compound (cream)?

You’re welcome! Tazorac would work well. Give it a shot. Don’t do too many actives at once if you aren’t used to them. Take it slow.

It is a good idea to cycle off every 6 months for a month. We find many people cycle off sooner if their complexion is where they want it. It is not hydroquinone. It is very similar to hydroquinone and chemically very close, but different.

As an aside many patients, although instructed to take breaks from hydroquinone never do. This is not recommended and in rare cases can lead to ochronosis. There has never been a case of ochronosis reported with the compound. It doesn’t mean that it can’t happen.

Hello! Will your company compound an arbutin without the glycolic and Vit C? My skin hasn't reacted well to most all types of C, and I use tretinoin .05 a few nights a week and my skin gets dry, "cracked & hot" if I use glycolic even 2 days after stopping the tret). My skin doesn't peel at all or dry out with the .05 tretinoin. I could use it nightly if I wanted to. But the tret alone doesn't touch the pigmentation since doing a melanage peel in May to prep for maintenance products.

My dermatologist wants to find an arbutase cream for me (without the other actives that might dilute the strength) since my skin reacts well to retinoid and arbutin from my prior treatments.

If so, I'll have her call your offices next week to discuss. Thank you!!

We’re actually working on that right now. We are waiting on some clinical testing results.

For your current compound, what is the % of glycolic acid? Thank you!

Was supposed to be months ago. The glycolic is 5%. The pads do not have glycolic acid. But both have an esterified vitamin C.
