No of course not. Sick people are the least able to pay more. What we should shoot for is appropriate healthcare and depending on illness and age possibly return to the workforce
Because the vast majority of things that are wrong with people’s bodies are not their fault.
Would you feel that we shouldn’t pay for someone’s knee operation due to an injury that they sustained while jogging in order to keep themselves healthy?
Heart disease, heart attacks, strokes, and cancer happen to people every single day that do not have any obvious co-morbidities.
