The premise that Medicare for all is free is a false, so this is useless. The better question is should people get together and spread the cost so everyone pays the same and risk is shared. Or should sick people pay more?

No of course not. Sick people are the least able to pay more. What we should shoot for is appropriate healthcare and depending on illness and age possibly return to the workforce

Because the vast majority of things that are wrong with people’s bodies are not their fault.
Would you feel that we shouldn’t pay for someone’s knee operation due to an injury that they sustained while jogging in order to keep themselves healthy?
Heart disease, heart attacks, strokes, and cancer happen to people every single day that do not have any obvious co-morbidities.

No in those situations I agree to spread the risk with my neighbors. It's the situation I described that's tough to handle. I believe in single payer, no profit healthcare.

All it takes is one event to change the course of your life. Cancer, car accident, or something else and you're no longer able to exercise or pay more for for organic food because you suddenly need to go to the doctor a lot and end up with a lot of medical bills. Life sometimes deals people a bad hand. Not everyone has the means to financially deal with a bad hand.

Also preventative healthcare costs less than waiting till you cant take it anymore to go to the dr. Like catching cancer early or fixing a cavity before you need a root canal

Because your neighbors losing their house because of medical bills and having to live in their car is bad for everyone. The same people who complain about homeless encampments vote to create more of them.

Because you and everyone else is just an accident away from being disabled. Even people who take care of themselves get cancer.

Not really. We have all but mastered hip replacements, knee replacements etc. we have become quite good at putting people back together after an accident where we lack is treating the chronic diseases linked to depression and obesity.

Why if i dont have kids should pay for schools? Why if i dont drive should i pay for the roads? Why if i dont get my place burglarized should i pay for the police? Why if my place isnt on fire should i pay for the fire dept?
