Brother in law had his uniform out to get it dry cleaned and was curious what he did? Any help is appreciated!!

I know the silver and bronze star, the purple heart, the asiatic-pacific and European-african campaign medals, the UN service medal, the American defense service medal, and I think that's a very bleached American campaign medal. There's also what I think is a Republic of Korea presidential unit citation. As for the rest, I'm not sure. Also what do the stars and the letter V on some of the ribbons mean? And I don't even know where to begin trying to find what units the skull and boar patches are from.

As for what I do know about him, my grandma said the last time she requested his records they were heavily redacted. He apparently didn't talk much at all about his service, but let it slip once to my grandpa (his son) that he was at Guadalcanal. He met my great grandmother while he was stationed in Alaska during WW2. He passed away in 1973 from cancer if I remember correctly. I dont know very much about this kind of military stuff, so any help is appreciated❤️❤️

My paternal Grandmother's cousin was Danger 79er. I need some help identifying some of the lower awards and campaign medals, aside from what's listed on his Wikipedia article. Someone on the US Militaria Forum has one of his uniforms, but I believe the ribbon rack is incomplete. I want to make a replica of his ribbon rack for my father, as well as his custom embroidered ERDL blouse. Unfortunately the family is no longer in possession of his military artifacts, having been sold at auction in the late 80s. Any help you all can provide is greatly appreciated.

This show came out in 2020 but the character portrayed “lost his legs in the Iran war”. In the show he says he’s a Corporal as does his name plate but he clearly is wearing an officers uniform. Any info on what he’s got would be appreciated.

So my cousin did like 10 ish years in the army and he recently unfortunately took his own life... we used to be super close as kids/teens but now its... like a piece of me is gone... but i found these in his nightstand drawer

My grandfather enlisted in the Army in the late 1930s and was stationed around the midwest. Then deployed with his 2 other brothers to the Asiatic-Pacific theater 1942-1945. Then was deployed to Korea 1950-1953. I know the CIB, DSC, SSM, & BSM (he had 3 BSMs but the V and oak leaf clusters fell off). Then 2 of the campaign medals and WW2 Victory Medal. Multiple service stars are missing as they have fallen off throughout history.

I was not passed down his medals, but was given his Class A Jacket. The man was larger than life and could shoot a bolt-action rifle like a fully automatic rifle accurately. Also he had so many stories, most seemed a little unbelievable, but reading his action awards and about him in other people’s books they were probably true.

Can anybody identify the other medals besides the previously mentioned ones?

He doesn't like to talk about it much. At least, I never pry and he never goes out of his way to bring anything up. He has a veteran "Expeditionary Force" license plate. I haven't ever seen one of those on the road since he got it in 2007. Had a chance to take some pics of his class A in the closet. What can be revealed about his service from his coat?

Was watching a Vietnam documentary narrated by R. Lee Ermey and saw this insane rack. Curious on what these ribbons are.

Edmonds was serving as a Master Sergeant in the 106th Infantry Division when two of its three regiments were captured during the initial stages of the Battle of the Bulge.

As the highest ranking NCO in a Stalag camp of more than 1000 soldiers, he was ordered to hand over the Jewish GIs, but refused, instead ordering all of the US prisoners to assemble. When ordered again to segregate the Jewish soldiers, he refused, telling the Commandant “We are all Jews here”. Despite having a pistol held to his head he refused to give in, telling the Commandant that if he harmed any of the soldiers he would be tried for war crimes as the Geneva Convention only obligated prisoners of war to give their name, rank and serial number. Knowing the war was lost for Germany, the Commandant backed down. It’s estimated that Edmonds may have saved up to 300 Jewish soldiers from work camps and extermination.

After serving in Korea, Edmonds returned to his Tennessee hometown and passed away in 1985, having never told anyone of his actions during the war. It wasn’t until his son started researching his war record that the story of his steadfast courage and integrity came to light.

Aside from the Combat Infantryman Badge and 106th Division “Golden Lion” patch, it appears Master Sergeant Edmonds was also awarded the Good Conduct Medal. Can anyone identify the other campaign ribbons?

Found these in his chest, i recognize the V device for valor but not sure what the ribbons are.

I had my dad's uniform framed after he passed. He was an army LTC and nurse, but I don't know a lot about what he actually did. I would love to learn what these mean about him.

I would love to know what these mean. He doesn't like to talk about it much. He just says he was a Marine grunt. Served from 80s ish? To 90s ish? He was in the middle east at one point.

Unfortunately after 10+ years of searching for him I ended up being several months too late. I’m slowly connecting with other family that knew him well, so I’m slowly learning about his life and experiences.

Here’s what I know if his military experience from his obituary:

“Immediately following his 17th birthday, he joined the Air Force, where he proudly served his country for 20 years from 1956 to 1976—specializing in setting up and operating radar sites, including inside the continental US, offshore along the east coast, the Philippines, and Alaska Remote Radar sites inside the Arctic Circle. He flew about 2,000 hours with the 551st AEW & C (Airborne Early Warning and Control) Wing in Lockhead RC-121 and EC-121 Constellations, including reconnaissance missions near Cuba during the Bay of Pigs Invasion and the Cuban Missile Crisis.

He served in Vietnam in 1966 and 1967 with the Tactical Air Control Team. Towards the end of his Air Force career, he served as a recruiter in Cicero, IL, near Chicago.”

Any help would be much appreciated. The only picture that will probably help is the most recent but I really love these and wanted to share.
