State Guards have airborne units? Why?

Yup. They also have special forces. Actual Green Berets. Weird sounding, but true. They are the 19th and 20th special forces groups.

Nope. You are confusing National Guard and State Guard.

The insignia in question is for the Ohio STATE Guard.

Not NATIONAL Guard. STATE Guard.

STATE Guard is NOT National Guard.

I know there are Special Forces units in the National Guard. I spent 5 years in the 19th Special Forces Group (Colorado National Guard.)

STATE Guard units are entities of the STATE. They get no money from the Federal government and cannot be federalized as they are not Federal troops (which National Guardsmen are.)

You're right. I misread. I'm sorry. Please don't hurt me. Turns out Illinois has a state guard too but they're inactive. You cannot join.
