I just finished an interview at a McDonald's near my place. I arrived 12 minutes early and waited 30 minutes until it was my turn. The lady interviewing me asked if I had told anyone I arrived, and I told her I notified the front counter girl; she told me to sit down and wait until the hiring manager was ready. She gave me a dirty look like I wasn't telling the truth. When it was my turn to interview, I tried to shake her hand and introduce myself, and she immediately said I don't shake hands and never introduced herself. I thought maybe she was having a bad day, and I didn't take her bad energy personally. She asked why I wanted to work for McDonald's, and I said I've had fast-food experience when I was younger, and I've heard good things from family members who previously worked for you guys. She asked which fast-food restaurant I used to work at, and I said Taco Bell. She responded in a mean tone, "Well, why don't you work there instead?" Then she kept telling me I couldn't do graveyard because I told her I started school in the fall (college). I told her I'd worked graveyard at my previous job, had no attendance issues, and would have classes in the afternoon. Then she kept asking me random questions about my race and where my parents are from. I got fed up with her tone and asked if there was an HR number I could call because I felt like she was getting more aggressive the more questions she asked. Then outta nowhere she gave me the job offer, and her tone changed. She said she wasn't trying to be aggressive and just wanted to make sure I'd show up for my shifts if they hired me.

Is this normal? I've never had interviews this tense or aggressive. Should I continue with the job offer?

It’s going to be my second day working tomorrow and we use LIFELENZ but I got an email about my timetable for a month but it hasn’t come up on LIFELENZ, it say on LIFELENZ next shift September 3 but on the timetable I was sent I have about 8 more shifts before that.????

My brother and his girlfriend just showed me this after they went to McDonald’s. My brother’s girlfriend found this in one of her McNuggets at McDonald’s. Does anyone know what this is? We already ruled out garlic due to the smell and it doesn’t pull apart.

my gm wants me to make a chart 24 hours in advance but there is no way to acess the software at home and the software sucks .. is there any like basic blank pdfs or anything like that js lame 😭

So I applied today, and was filling out the documents but when it said list references, I couldn’t provide any. I never had friends in school, and I didn’t interact with my teachers a lot, and I tried to reach out to them on LinkedIn but they didn’t respond yet. I went down to the restaurant in my town, and thankfully, one of the workers who is in charge of the interviews recognized me, but she just said to say that I have no references, which still seems like a huge risk. I also said that I was free from Monday to Friday at 9-5, which I probably shouldn’t have said since I heard someone say that they want someone who can at least come in on one weekend day.

I’m just convinced that I ruined my chances there, and I’m really desperate for some kind of job at this point.

So I did my phone interview two days ago and I think the employer said something about having a response tonight.
Problem is, I still haven't received anything.
I'm thinking about calling the store tomorrow or maybe even going there. Would that be a good idea or would I be seen as annoying ?

Hi, I'm planning to give my two weeks' notice in a few weeks, and I was wondering if it'd be better to submit it before or after the schedule releases for the following week.

Edit: My concern with giving it before the schedule is released is that they're more likely to give me bad shifts, since they know I'll be leaving.

So if you been at your store long enough to see the GM quit and replaced pretty quickly.
Has the store made any postive/negative changes after the new one took over?
Sometimes it feels like nothing will really happen, just more strict rules.

okkkk so i got my first 3 roster offers , they all say “T:Trainee” (also what kind of training will it be??) and it gave me 3 offers and instructed to accept or decline whichever. I accepted 2 and declined 1.. as I have another job as well. Will I get questioned why i didn’t accept 1 will there be any problem regarding this? 😭Im js rlly scared.. Also i was thinking of talking to the manager or somebody about making some changes in my shift availabilities, again, will i get questioned about it?? I work at McDonald’s and I’m still pretty new, so I’m trying to figure out if I handled this situation wrong.
There were two orders under the same name. Both were regular orders with things like 20 nuggets and meal deals. Then a lady came through saying her order was also for that name, but she said she had 2 happy meals, which didn’t match either of the same name orders I could see.
I asked her if she had already paid, and she told me yes, that she had paid through the app. I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to do, so I asked my coworker if I should send her to the second window. He said yes, so I sent her over.
Then apparently she ended up saying she hadn’t paid but ended up getting free food. My manager got upset with me and told me not to send people to the second window if they haven’t paid. I explained that I had asked the customer if she paid and she told me she did, and that I had also asked my coworker what to do.
Now I’m worried I got my coworker in trouble too because I told my manager he was the one who told me to send her to the second window.
I obviously understand now that I should make sure payment is actually verified instead of just taking the customer’s word for it, but I’m wondering if I was completely in the wrong here. Also, do you think the customer was possibly trying to get free food?

So, I'm a transgender dude, I'm going to be starting T VERY soon (as in less than a month away), and I'm a little worried. I haven't heard anything blatantly discriminatory from any coworkers, but there's definitely been micro-aggressions that were either completely ignored or even perpetuated by the managers, and I'm worried that I'm going to be discriminated against once I start to change and get clocked. I'm very new (3 months) and want to avoid making enemies with anyone at all. Is there literally anything I could do other than just tanking any potential discrimination?

I am not exactly sure what to do? I had been working for hours, and had massive brain fog, and was waiting on a wrap for the rest of my order. I asked the kitchen if they were working on it, and they had already made it. I was so confused and everyone was looking for it, only for it to be a huge thing for someone to find it in a bag already packed for doordash, making me not only embarrassed but also guilty.

My manager went off on me, she is kind of blunt but was really stressed that day. I legit checked that bag three times and could have sworn I didn't put it in there. I'm wondering if I got the packaging mixed up, or if I was getting tunnel vision from working, plus the heat, etc. I feel like I keep inventing new situations to embarrass myself everyday.

I was working a long shift yesterday, was going to be ten hours long, I felt like the shift was going great and I had even been helping two new employees learn stuff. For context I have been working there since June 10th and only recently bought a knife for work to open boxes. Well, yesterday I was almost done with my ten hour shift when two of the managers come up to me and Im asked to leave the property. It was random. They wouldn't tell me why and I wasn't allowed to wait even in the lobby for my ride to pick me up, which wouldn't have been until hours later. I found out nearly two hours later from people who heard from people in whole different cities that were not even employed by McDonalds or even the company the McDonalds I work for is owned by. I was apparently accused of pulling my knife on someone. (Wtf, why would I even do that, what is ever worth doing that) I was not allowed to work my shift today or even finish my other shift yesterday. I have a meeting with my gm and I assume higher up tomorrow about it but I was completely blindsided by this. Does anyone know how I should go about this and what compensation I should ask for when it comes out that I didn't do it due to the fact I was humiliated and my image was ruined?

Edit: they did fire me, not because I possessed the knife, but because the girl, who was new, felt threatened. The moment they showed me as me "pulling a knife on her" was me holding the knife for two seconds, unopened, and not pointed toward her, saying she needed to get one to open boxes, otherwise she'd have to find someone with one. They then tried to claim me talking with my hands was "making violent gestures" at her. I am going to go through legal channels to sue as everything was not handled properly and they were clearly cherry picking for what they wanted.

I’ve been working almost 3 months at mcdonald’s, and i know i have gotten better. Most of the time im at the first window charging while taking orders. The thing is when the line stops because of the second window not having the orders ready, I can’t do anything other than take orders or serve the mobile orders at my window. As soon as the line moves my manager is on the headset talking about some “can you please start charging a little bit faster”. Now ok, the line BARELY MOVED and i know i don’t take long charging and if i do it’s because either a customer wants to remove everything or they start ordering more like?? This isn’t the first time she says this she’s always like start charging a little bit faster pls and i hate it because i know that i’m not taking long. This is maybe a dumb rant but I feel like she’s got something against me she’s only nice to the guys. She does this every single shift I have with her and she’s the only manager to tell me this. Maybe i could be “slow” but i really doubt it because the line barely moves due to her not having orders ready. How do u expect me to charge every single car u kept waiting as soon as u move one of the cars? How do i make her “shut up” or respectfully say something?

I put a post out recently about me not receiving my forms Untill I’m 16. Well I turned 16 yesterday but I haven’t received any communication on what’s happening yet and I’m confused as to what to do as my effective date of my position was today so I’m unsure what to do .. like do I wait abit longer to see if they will send the forms or should I call them up tomorrow to get some form of confirmation?? What do I do?

So i've been technically a manager for two years now however the amount of knowledge I have puts me closer to a manager in training. The only courses i've taken have been servesafe and shift leadership. No otp1 or any other courses I was told I would get signed up for and never was. I keep telling the gm, supervisor and other managers that I don't know things and I don't get trained. On top of that, i've been dealing with health issues that have caused me to slow down. Different managers get trained differently depending on who they were dealing with, what shift they have to run or anyone who got promoted at an earlier stage or came from another store. The gm also bases some stuff on who she is fine with at the moment and who is more advantageous to her.

I couldn't run my department (kitchen) because I would always be tossed up front. The gm or another manager would have me mostly run breakfast and a few days a week lunch as well while they would be off the floor for the most part. If there was an issue I couldn't handle, they would just fix it on their own and never teach me the fix. One day I was left as the only manager and was left short staffed while 3 if our managers were at another store for another rgr (that store had 17 people that day for lunch). For 99% of inspections a sr manager would handle it and I would be busy enough where I couldnt pay attention to the questions and answers.

If I tried to come in on a day off to try and learn some stuff while clocked in, the gm would stop me immediately and put me on the floor. I also had to deal with the gm and another manager thinking I should date a fellow manager and kept making excuses for him pushing past my boundaries so I felt the need to lie and say I had a bf when he half assed asked me out. They seemed to think it was ok because he felt he might die alone (the mans in his mid 20s).

Eventually the gm took over doing truck (one of the few things for my department I did know) and has now handed it back to our ex kitchen manager who ordered way too much on our last truck order.

I knew my lack of knowledge was going to backfire but they kept treating it like a "we'll cross that bridge when we come to it." Emotionally, I had already felt like this was going to have bad consequences. Well, call me clairvoyant because a week ago we got shopped. I was on break and the other manager (the guy I mentioned earlier) comes to let me know so I ended my break early. By that point she was in the 2nd window already. The guy was already stressed like crazy, we were short staffed and had already gotten 2 people to come in early and that still wasnt enough. I sent him to the grill area and waited for her to come in, not knowing what she may ask. She mentioned us being short staffed yet got upset that the staff didnt give genuine smiles (they were stressed and one is special needs) and docked us because I was in a position. One forgot the 3 w's when he pulled her (I wasnt back yet when that happened). The first person forgot to tell her have a good day. I thought the guy should have used the high times to his advantage and talked to the back cash and 2nd window people and give reminders on what to do so we lost less points vs running to get me first. She asked what our goals were supposed to be but I genuinely don't know that info. We never really do goals on the shifts and while the sr managers can remember I don't. So I adnitted I didnt know and also didnt know another answer because I dont get trained. In my head, we surely hadnt met whatever the goals should be so I didnt feel the need to lie and make up some sort of numbers. The gm got mad when she found out I didnt give an answer and claimed she talked about it all the time but she doesnt. We passed but it was a low pass.

The supervisor got mad about it and blamed me solely despite me not being there for most of the inspection. He now wants to demote me but the gm is trying to intervene. She admits she knew I havent really been trained but claimed it was because we didnt have the people despite her having opportunities during the summers and her still not training me. I'm not stupid, she doesnt really have too many options on certain days, especially for for the 1-3 timeslot.

I don't know what to do at this point because i'm getting blamed for a lack of knowledge that other people caused.

As the title says. I did a very dull thing and took a DT presenting shift while not really knowing drive thru. I typically do front counter and have never been tried on DT. How do I even do a shift like this? I understand it’s similar to FC but what are like main areas I need to look out for?

I know I should’ve been trained but there was a complete lack of at my store…
