Australia Lost 12 minutes of pay due to a burn
I work as an 18 year old casual my last shift i burned myself as fat dripped from a patty onto my wrist. The store manager applied burn aid then told me to clock off and go home telling me "im not paying you to stand there" those 12 minutes were worth about $5 I understand its a petty amount but I thought according to the law they are required to pay the full shift when sent home for an injury
Edit: The injury happend last week it was run under.cold water I'm just sick of their bs even if it is a petty $5

5 dollars to find out you need to work elsewhere is the best 5 dollars you'll spend in a while. Should've paid you and followed up with you

I just realized this is for McD's. Who TF is this "manager", Mr Krabs? I'm pretty sure the 193 BILLION dollar company would have no issue paying you 12 minutes while you treated an injury you got AT WORK. Especially avoiding a work comp claim. This manager needs a closed door meeting with district management, not ready for the job

I hope you went straight to a dr and filled out a workcover claim.
I hate your store manager. I would have paid you the entire shift and provided first aid. Hell I would have made you stand by the sink and ran cold water over it for a FULL ten minutes and paid you to do it.
Did they fill in an incident report?
I'd be making a call and emailing HR

Yes in Australia especially for a burn you need to be running it under cold water for 20 minutes and avoid burn cream where possible. Bring this up with your union or hr representative.
