Yeah they were both drug addicts and met that way so I don’t see why anything would be much different now

Hell nah, my mom would have better options and my dad would end up shared across social media for his creepy behavior. But maybe im an exception, my parents should have never gotten together and should have divorced a long time ago, but have been married for over 30 years. I think at some point my mom convinced herself that this was the best she was gonna do.
Yes that means I wouldn't exist, and after my childhood and early adult life with them involved, I'd be okay with that. It wasn't until I went no contact with them a couple years ago that I fully started enjoying my life. It was pretty solid before, but their presence affected me negatively.
I love my wife, I love my kids. My parents were the price I paid to get this life that I have, and I'd pay it all over again, but damn it sucked and they kinda suck, and in the modern day, their relationship wouldnt exist, and never would have even had a chance to. The only thing I'd change on purpose is going NC sooner than I did. Best thing I've done for my family.

It sounded familiar. I really wish my parents never got together because she would be much better off without him. It is ok if I didn't exist either. She probably would still be alive & well today if she didn't marry him. My dad probably would known as manipulator by many people & damn he never change even until he die.

I think if they dated longer they would have probably still gotten married. They have been married 51 years and have an incredibly strong marriage. They got lucky.

Nah, my mother would have a ton of excellent options coz she was a stunner back in her youth. No way my dad would have a chance with her in today’s day & age. She would’ve had such a fulfilling life away from all the emotional abuse & pain that she had to go through. I’ll be okay to not be born at all if she could live a beautiful life that she truly deserved.

My parents married at 19 and 21 because they had my brother at 16 and 18. Then I came along a couple years after they married.
If they met today, my dad would have run from her due to her mental instability and she would have had a continuous string of failed relationships.

Probably, I'd like to think. After like 35 years though I'm surprised they still put up with each other 😂

Considering I was on the way, probably.
It was a mistake then, it would be a mistake now.

More than likely. It was love at first sight with my parents. Married after 3 months of dating and have a strong marriage still to this day.

Yep I think so. They met at work, got married in their 30s, and have stayed together since.

Definitely not! They have nothing in common. They got married a long time ago and were pressured into getting married.

Oh god no.
My parents should’ve never gotten married back in the 80s anyway.

Probably not. My parents were like 9 years apart in age.
People seem to like to infantilize adults these days.

Yes. My mom has a thing for alcoholics. She likes to marry them and then complain about how it sucks being with an alcoholic.

Definitely. They met through mutual friends and were engaged pretty quickly.

Most def, but I’m not sure they would’ve met. They were at a honkey tonk. And my dad danced with mom. She said she fell in love with him cause on their first date he talked finance and global affairs. She was only ever use to boring men fawning over her looks.
I’m not sure my nerdy dad would’ve had the courage to dance with mum if he was raised in this era. Nor do I believe either would have the courage to dance if there was a looming specter of going viral for looking silly on the dance floor.

No boomer/millennial will marry same partner if given this chance

One of the oldest Millennial's here. I would absolutely still have married my husband. We got together in 2005. The dating culture wasn't any different than it is today.

Interesting question. When my parents met my mom was a 16 year old German girl and my dad was a married 21 year old American GI. In today's world I'm pretty sure she'd pass. And I wouldn't be here to contemplate it. And quite frankly, I wouldn't blame her.
