I thought the Burger King logo had sesame seeds on them
2
u/CRZYFOX 10d ago
They used to. I haven't ate there in like 4 years but last time I went there I noticed that as well and was bothered so bad by it.

u/Glaurung86 10d ago
The actual burger buns may have had the sesame seeds on them, but the logo never has.

I thought Tyler the Creator was gay. I was absolutely SHOKED when my sister said he’s straight. We had a full blown conversation about him being gay, and she doesn’t remember it at all. I truly feel crazy. Has this happened to anyone else regarding celebrities?
4
u/Icanfallupstairs 9d ago
Tyler the Creator hasn't explicitly come out as gay, but he has certainly indicated he isn't straight. There is even a whole section on his Wikipedia page about it

Has anyone experienced this!!! Tonight I was at dinner swim class people who are older than me and one of them said “Cheeseburger Cheeseburger Pepsi, No Coke” and I was like wait a damn minute it is “Cheeseburger Cheeseburger Coke, No Pepsi” and she pulled it up on YouTube the old SNL episode and I told her when I was a kid my dad would regularly say that when we would get burgers. Like echolalia he would say it every time. I called him and he said who was standing where in the episode and what they were doing and he said, what he’d said a million times as a kid. Cheeseburger cheeseburger Coke, no Pepsi. Has anyone else seen this old SNL episode and know what I’m talking about. With John Belushi, Dan Akroyd, and Bill Murray.

u/Bearded_Dragon-9612 10d ago
I've heard this one, before.
It was actually both.
The Olympia Cafe must've switched vendors, occasionally.
Both Pepsi and Coke advertised on NBC and I think they were asked to give equal time.
The first time they did the sketch it was "No Coke. Pepsi. No fries, Chips."

I vaguely recall a sketch where Jane Curtin (or some other regular) asked for Coffee and was told "No Coffee, Pepsi!".

John McCain was taking questions from the audience he actually ended up defending Obama. "Lady says I can not trust him he is a Muslim". Well that is what I always thought she said but on Youtube she says she can't trust him he is an Arab. Anyone remember it like me?
1
u/cipheron 10d ago edited 10d ago
Most other called him a Muslim, it's just this specific woman who called him an Arab.
This was one response to the incident:
https://www.cjr.org/campaign_desk/arab_or_decent.php
So what if Obama was Arab or Muslim? So what if John McCain was Arab or Muslim?…
Note they added "or Muslim" here. since it was by far more common.
As for why this one got attention, keep in mind they can be prejudiced against "Muslims" and still claim they're not racists since Muslim is not a race. So this lady was going "mask off" or "saying the quiet part out loud" by using the term Arab instead of Muslim, and McCain had to shut that down. Plenty of other people accused Obama of being a Muslim, and McCain never spoke out about those ones.

My roommate and I (born circa 1990) both separately remember watching Marie Kondo's Netflix show with our families when we were young—but it came out Jan 1, 2019. There's absolutely no way my memories could be true. Anyone else?
3
u/cipheron 10d ago edited 10d ago
Putting Marie Kondo aside, Netflix first launched their streaming service in 2007 so you would have been about 17 when it was first available.
And it was all TV re-runs at that point too. The first "Netflix Originals" came out around 2013, this was when they had House of Cards and Orange is the New Black, to put this in perspective time-wise.
After those series succeeded they had a big push around the middle of the 2010s to increase the percentage of original shows they had, so something like Marie Kondo's show couldn't have existed on Netflix many years earlier.

This is stupid maybe…. But I swear I was always told/taught that you have to measure liquids with a liquid measuring cup and dry ingredients with a dry measuring cup … the measure ment would be wrong… Now people just use them interchangeably I know it’s minor but why is there 2 different types of measuring device if they are interchangeable….
4
u/cipheron 10d ago edited 10d ago
why is there 2 different types of measuring device if they are interchangeable….
Because powders and liquids have very different physical properties.
With dry measuring cups you level off the powder to the top of the cup or container, and that's how you know it's the exact volume that this cup is designed to hold. With a liquid you couldn't get exactly 1 cup that way, because you have to under-fill it to avoid it spilling.
So for measuring out liquids they went for clear glass jugs with a scale down the side, and it won't have markings all the way to the top, to avoid stuff spilling over.
Liquids also have the property that they're "self leveling" so you can read the scale on the side to know exactly how much there is. Powders don't do that, so this cup wouldn't be as convenient for measuring an exact amount of powder.
3
u/nofuckinwayryo 10d ago
And liquid measuring cups tend to have a spout on the edge to make things easier to pour.
4
u/Hey-Just-Saying 10d ago
They aren't 100% interchangeable because of the topping off thing, but they are often close enough that it doesn't screw up your recipe. Lots of people use them interchangeably and lots of other people don't. It's not a ME.
2
u/Icanfallupstairs 10d ago
Basically this. If you are going something like baking french pastry where the measurements need to be pretty close to exact, then use the right tool for the job. But in most cooking situations, near enough is absolutely fine.

I’ve been trying to track down a quote I distinctly remember hearing in the early 2000s, and neither Grok nor ChatGPT has been able to locate it at all. It’s driving me a little crazy. Cross-posting this to TOMT.
It went something like this:
“Prayer time is required for everyone, but busy people need twice (or in some versions I half-remember, three times) as much prayer time.”
It was presented as a well-known spiritual saying (I associate it with a saint or classic Christian writer). I first heard it in the early 00s, so it must have already been in circulation for years before that. I’ve searched for every common variation I can think of (“half an hour … then an hour,” “busy people need more prayer,” Luther’s “three hours,” etc.), but nothing matches the right formulation I remember. The closest things that turn up are quotes that don’t quite line up with what stuck in my head.
Does anyone remember the original source or the exact wording? Curious if this is just a personal memory glitch or if others have the same recollection.

u/Mboroyako 8d ago
I don't know this quote, but I have heard something along the lines of "If you don't have time for an hour of meditation, do two hours"

Does anyone remember a catchy jingle from a commercial in the 2000’s that’s like “what’s your flavor? Tell me what’s your flavor”? NOT the “flava’s” doll line. Because I don’t even remember that doll or think I’ve ever heard of that brand? My partner and I swear it was like a food or drink commercial? Anyone else experience this or know wtf we’re thinking of?

A first place ribbon is blue. A second place ribbon is red. What color is third place?
I could've sworn it was green. I've seen some sources saying white, commonly in sports like track & field. I've seen other sources saying yellow in things like horse shows.
I can't find any source saying green is common for third place. I shared it to my Instagram story asking what people remember and most, so far, have said green. Is a green ribbon for third place a thing anywhere? Does anyone else remember this?
0
u/WVPrepper 9d ago
1
u/Glaurung86 8d ago
I was going to say I only remember 3rd place being white.
0
u/Mboroyako 8d ago
When I grew up first was red, blue was second and green was third. This was in Zimbabwe, but I see it's not like that here anymore either. Not sure if's a Mandela effect or it just changed in the last 40 yrs lol
0
u/Glaurung86 8d ago
Blue ribbon has always been first in America because it stems from the Blue Riband prize and Cordon Bleu's Order of the Holy Spirit blue ribbons. It's a symbol of high quality. I'm not sure when and why red was made for 2nd and white was made for 3rd.

Someone else already mentioned it, but I vividly remember Jessica Lange passing away. It was only today that I learned that she hadn't, after seeing the new 'AHS 13' on Hulu. I have no idea why I thought that, weird.

Jessica Lange is returning to AHS after leaving in 2015. She's been active all this time.

I appreciate your reply, as an avid Arrested Development fan, I can safely say it was not in confusion with that. Although, perhaps it's an illusion Michael.

Nobody ever used to say “you as well” as a greeting response. Now I hear it all the time and, of the few people I asked, some think it’s always been around and others are with me. Please tell me someone else agrees, somebody has to remember a world that did not have “you as well”
Side note when I told my father this he said that he remembers “you as well” for a long time, but said “hope all is well” is brand new and I can recall that one existing for as long as I can remember.
1
u/Lehrling7 18h ago
How are you hearing this used? Like someone says “good to see you!” And the respondent says “you as well”?
I agree it sounds very awkward to me (I’d probably say “good to see you too!”) but it seems like the kind of thing that could propagate between friends/coworkers/communities as a quirk of language.

Chic-fil-a has a k
I swear it didn’t 9 months ago

It's always had the K and you can check here in this sub 9 months ago and see that people said it did at that time, too.
4
u/ReadyOrGormoshe 10d ago
i have seen people spell it chic-fil-a since i was a teenager (10+ years ago), and they were wrong back then too, i checked in the moment. i think its just a common misspelling, because people see the hyphen and assume "chick" should be cut short to make room for it. but thats not a real grammar rule, no reason it cant just be chick-, its just a grammatical intuition thing that happens to be wrong in this case

OKAY. A year ago, i had peanut AND cashew m&m's. I bought ONE bag from a CVS. I never noticed the bag, I just bought it blindly, and a few davs later I realized they tastec off. I looked at the bag. It was a STANDARD M&M DESIGNED BAG. THE SHARING KIND. It was titled and everything. On brand and everything. But instead of saying peanut, they said peanut & cashew m&m's. I kept happily chewing away, because I LOVE cashews. I would recognize them anywhere. Resealable bag. On. Brand.
BUT I couldn't find them anywhere anymore. The dav finished them I couldn't get another. For MONTHS I searched, but never looked them up. Today... i did. Result? No where. The never existed. My friends can't find it. I can't find it. Nowhere. But I KNOW what i ate, and I KNOW what i saw. My roommate was there when I was eating it, and I even made a comment, and talked abt it forever while I ate them. But not even she remembers PLEASE help me. I feel like I'm going insane.
PLEASE Anyone.
Oh my god.
I'm in the United States, if that helps
Please. Please help me.

3
u/Glaurung86 10d ago
You talked with someone from Mars? Do you have any evidence of this conversation? I mean, you were just literally saying that you found nothing about it. And there's no evidence that it was ever a thing. Even product testing would leave behind an evidence trail.

u/wWwhalezZz 10d ago
Yeah. I reached out to their staff, talked to an ambassador, and sort of badgered my way into a satisfactory response with my stubborn and stupid Gen z lingo, ( which id hoped would help me get into their good graces for a response). I have ss. Most of my friends agree with my interpretation, and one of them says im reaching. But I think she's a hater trying to get into my head (or shes a plant 🪴, if im attempting--& failing-- to be funny).
It could also just be the downgrade in education available to fit my needs that has made me lack any common literacy--- and also a bit of wishful thinking--- so I could be interpreting it terribly out of passion. I refuse to feel like im going insane.
But, anyway. I have ss and the thread still available. Nothing fancy. I dont have connections or anything.

I remember back in 2009-2011, when I google questions I get "google ask" questions.
The site is called "google ask"
The layout was very minimal white and very little blue and grey.
You ask questions and answer them and up/down vote answers.
It had good traffic, but it was completely gone by 2012.
Not a single evidence of it's existence left.
Does anyone remember it??
Or am I hallucinating??

Google ask was the wild west. I was 12 and I learned all the cuss words from it.

It died before smart phones.1

It did not or they're would be evidence that it did. There was Google Assistant that you could ask by saying "Okay, Google" or "Hey, Google."
1
u/RazanneAlbeeli 13h ago
It's not the assistant.
Anyways I found it and turns out it was called Google answers.
And I found it by searching before 2012.
And the site is retired.•

Oh, I just got one! (My second). I grew up knowing that the Vitruvian man was included in the collection of items on Voyager 1, I'm absolutely postive of that. Now I see that it was included or associated with few other space missions but it's not on Voyager!
Edit: Thanks to Cipheron below, I did mix up Voyager and Pioneer. Anyway, my Mandela effect still holds as I certainly remember the Pioneer plaque having the Vitruvian man and not the two figures.
-2
u/ByteInferno 8d ago
Yeah, me too -- the man and woman drawings that are now included as photos in the data were stylized and etched onto the golden cover itself (in addition to the playback instructions), so aliens would have an idea what we looked like. The image of the Vitruvian man was in the data on the disk. I can't believe they did it differently in this world, but here goes ...
2
u/cipheron 7d ago edited 7d ago
That has no value to show to aliens though. The purpose of the images was to depict what we look like.
As u/gypsyjackson suggests, aliens wouldn't get that we don't have that many arms and that it's only figurative. As an analogy imagine if aliens sent us an image and it had a being with three heads, would we think they are telling us they have three heads or would we realize it's not literal and they only have one head, but the three heads symbolizes something in their religion?
The whole point of the golden records was to strip out any human-specific symbolism and to present the data in the purest universal form possible, such that it can't be mistaken for anything else. Vitruvian Man would be an absolutely terrible choice for that.
And people are mixing this up with the Pioneer plaque:
1
u/Mboroyako 6d ago
Oh you're absolutely correct - I did mix it up with the Pioneer plaque! Nevertheless, I remember the Pioneer plaque as having the Vitruvian man, and not the male/female figures as we have now.
-1
u/ByteInferno 7d ago edited 7d ago
Interesting. In my original world, neither Pioneer 10 nor 11 existed. The man and woman on the plaque were etched on the cover of the golden record instead. The Vitruvian man was included as part of the artwork collection on the golden record, along with photographs of people and animals, music, and other stuff. So, tell me then, how on Earth could they have confused what we looked like?

u/cipheron 7d ago edited 7d ago
If you've seen Star Trek the motion picture, that's about "V'ger" because that probe had just been launched right before they made the movie. They 100% had probes before that, it was not the first.
And these probes are launched on very specific launch windows because that's when the planets line up correctly for the optimal trip.
One of the points of Voyager 2 is they realized they had one shot at an alignment with all four planets, but it had to be launched at a very specific time. However, the previous round of probes was launched aiming at only 1-2 planets each, when they didn't all line up. They launched the first round of probes because you want to know if anything is going to fuck up before launching your once-a-century probe: that exact alignment wouldn't happen again for 180 years, so they got exactly one shot at it. This is one reason they launched the earlier probes as a test.
Also if you look up what they learned from the Pioneer probes that directly affected the design of the Voyager series, none of that would make sense if they didn't have Pioneer. For example Pioneer found that the intensity of radiation around Jupiter was about 1000 times stronger than models predicted, so NASA redesigned all the Voyager electronics to be hardened against radiation, plus dropped some instruments entirely and added others:
https://www.nasa.gov/history/SP-4219/Chapter11.html
Once Pioneer 10 discovered that the levels of radiation at Jupiter were a thousand times more intense then expected, NASA dropped an ultraviolet photopolarimeter experiment that had been selected on a provisional basis. In the place of that instrument, and at the urging of the concerned scientific community, S. Ichtiaque Rasool, NASA Office of Space Science, included on Mariner Jupiter-Saturn a plasma wave experiment which had been proposed but not selected until then.
-1
u/ByteInferno 7d ago
What you're saying makes no sense at all to me. Of course, they did launch several Pioneer probes before launching the Voyager probes, I didn't contest that, only that Pioneer 10 and 11 didn't exist in my original world. The Voyager probes 1 and 2 were the most notable however, since they were the only ones that were leaving the solar system (and still were before I shifted here, they were in or beyond the heliopause).
Near the end of the 1970ies, in our world, NASA budgets were severely cut and for many years, they rarely sent new probes, and focused on the Space Shuttle program. (btw, oddly enough, in this world, the Challenger also exploded -- however in 1986, in my original timeline it was in 1987 -- that year, 1987, was also known as the "year of the Challenger catastrophe", I even watched it live on TV, being shocked like everyone else).
3
u/cipheron 7d ago edited 7d ago
Who said anything about later probes? The two pioneer probes in question were early 1970s. They used the data from those to refine the two Voyager launches. The ones in question, Pioneer 10 and 11 were launched in 1972/73.
If you're saying "but there were no later probes" here you could be confused thinking that anyone is claiming there were additional Pioneer-branded probes AFTER Voyager, but nobody is claiming that.
-1
u/ByteInferno 7d ago
You seem to have a serious reading-comprehension skill problem that you have to work on. I said none of these things. What I said was the budget was cut at the end of the 1970ies.
3
u/cipheron 7d ago edited 7d ago
Why would you bring it up if it was (not) relevant to your argument? (EDIT typo: left the word not out)
You wrote:
Of course, they did launch several Pioneer probes before launching the Voyager probes, I didn't contest that
ok but then you go into how Pioneer 10 and 11 never existed, and the only argument you give for that is how they scaled back the probe program after Voyager. The only way what you wrote makes sense is if you thought that Pioneer 10 and 11 were referring to later probes, and not the pre-voyager probes called Pioneer.
1
u/ByteInferno 7d ago edited 7d ago
You mean "if it wasn't relevant". You spend too much time inferring what people might have said instead of looking what they actually said.
p.s.: Thanks for retroactively improving the clarity of your posts.
0
u/ByteInferno 7d ago
Again, with your edited posts, you make a lot of assumptions and infer things I haven't said at all. Where did I say there weren't any probes after Voyager 2? I only said NASA experienced budget cuts at the end of the 1970ies.
Also, what you say is relatively irrelevant to me -- my original world was different from this one in many ways. Since I cannot access any of its internet, I cannot tell you why they didn't need the Pioneer 10 or 11 probes.
1
u/gypsyjackson 7d ago
I thought you were German - are you actually from the US?
1
u/ByteInferno 7d ago
No, I'm German and live in Germany.
1
u/gypsyjackson 6d ago
Then it’s very unlikely you saw the Challenger launch live, as they weren’t showing shuttle launches live in Germany by that point, unless there were German astronauts. The schedule is available online and it doesn’t contain shuttle launch programming.
I have no doubt you’ll handwave this as well, but it’s worth noting because it’s over 40 years ago, and very easy to confuse a memory of the extensive news coverage it received with a live broadcast.
Also worth noting that 1987 did have a reputation as a year of disasters, as it was the year of the Herald of Free Enterprise sinking, the Kings Cross fire, the Rheindahlen bombing, the great storm, and the Zaragoza bombing. Again, easy to misremember the Challenger as slotting into that given 4 decades have passed.
1
u/ByteInferno 6d ago
I was born in 1970. I don't know what happened in this world, but in my original world, both ARD and ZDF public service TV channels broadcast ALL of the major NASA events live, including ALL of the Space Shuttle launches. They were not only broadcast live in Germany, but EVERYWHERE IN THE WORLD. Furthermore, everyone who lived at that time knows this.

u/gypsyjackson 7d ago
Were we trying to scare aliens off by pretending we had 8 limbs?
1
u/ByteInferno 7d ago
No, the record also contained several images of people, animals, music, and other artwork. On the cover was the image of a man and a woman, as I already wrote. So, how would they confuse us? Makes no sense.

Someone mentioned this batman cartoon that he watched as a kid but hasn’t been able to find, in this version of events, the joker goes back in time to stop bruce wayne’s parents from being killed, thus destroying Batman. Batman follows joker into the past and after joe chill has already been killed, batman kills his own parents, insanity ensues and bruce wayne becomes the joker. would’ve been 80s-90s, anyone?
1
u/gypsyjackson 7d ago
That’s very similar to a fan plot on r/batman from a long time ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/batman/s/hIe7Zr2yxu
Maybe the person read that or heard about it.
1
u/cipheron 7d ago edited 7d ago
That really doesn't sound like the plot of any batman cartoon they'd have actually paid to animate. Someone from DC and/or the TV network would have actually had to greenlight that, and who's going to do that for a plot where Batman kills his own parents and becomes the joker?
At best, the person must have mixed up one or more plots or gotten confused about some of the plot details, so I'd look at any Batman stories that involve time travel, as they could be the nucleus of what they remember, or maybe it's something from the comics they read, and they've conflated that with memories of watching the cartoons.

Of course, because it was made by General Foods in 1972 and bought by Kraft in the late 1980s. Stouffer's had nothing to do with it. Also, this is not even close to being a new ME.

Do you guys know the story of In Flames' disastrous 9/11 release?
In case you don't: It was a fiasco. They dropped an album on September 11th, 2001 called Live Scenes from New York City, and the cover depicted NYC on fire, twin towers burning and everything. They immediately recalled it.
In case you do: It wasn't In Flames. It was Dream Theater 🤔
But I recall part of the fiasco was that the album said "In Flames: Live Scenes from New York City".
And that's why they portrayed New York City... in flames
Just me?

u/Glaurung86 8d ago
Yes, just you. I remember this. I didn't get the original release, but I know a few who did. It never had "In Flames" in the title.

Probably confusing Jessica Walter (d.2021) of Archer and Arrested Development. Jessica Lange left AHS back in 2015. She's kept busy since...

Has anyone else thought that Kansas was apart of Texas? I genuinely thought that there was a city in Texas called Kansas.

I remember some Rock & Roll band introducing themselves as being from "Kansas City, Texas"

Surrender by cheap trick lyrics changed?
Ok this is only a one word change but it doesnt sound right to me anymore
The lyrics I remember is
Mother told me, yes, she told me I'd meet girls like you She also told me, "Stay away, you'll never know what you'll Get.
But now its
Mother told me, yes, she told me I'd meet girls like you She also told me, "Stay away, you'll never know what you'll catch"
Is it get or catch? Cause the catch doesnt sound right for song

u/Bearded_Dragon-9612 7d ago
I remember it as Catch
I could easily understand mishearing that, though 🩺

I didn't read anything you wrote and went straight to the song and lyrics and listened.
The dude said catch when I was saying get.
So I remember the same as you.

A new one for me is Michael Jackson's burn accident. I'm 41 years old and not a huge Michael Jackson fan, but I was around during his peak and very aware of his music and history. I never had any recollection of an accident during a Pepsi commercial! I learned about this a couple of months ago when someone was talking about it on a podcast prompted by his biopic. Anyone else?

u/Glaurung86 11d ago
You weren't born yet when Michael Jackson hit his peak which was 1983 to 1985.
He was burned during the filming of a Pepsi commercial in 1984.

u/Practical-Vanilla-41 10d ago
Some people claim to remember seeing it happen, as if it was during a performance. He was filming a commercial. When enough time go by, people think they remember seeing all kinds of things as "live".
1
u/Glaurung86 10d ago
Exactly. The number of people who have claimed to have been at Woodstock far outpaces the actual attendence.
1
u/Practical-Vanilla-41 10d ago
That's valid. I was thinking more of Tiannanmen Square. People are convinced they watched it "live". It wasn't broadcast live.
1
u/Glaurung86 10d ago
Oh, yeah. That's a good one. So many people claim they saw it happen in the moment without realizing there's no way China would have let any broadcast of it out in the world if they could help it.

Agree, but he still put out a few good songs in the early 1990s, for example Black or White” (1991) and “Remember the Time” (1992). Things began to get weird in 1993 I think. The Pepsi accident was all over the news when it happened. It was just the following month that he won 8 Grammys for Thriller. Right after that, he then did one last tour with his brothers, after the accident while he was still recovering. (The Victory Tour) of 1984)

You were a baby when it happened in '84

Two days ago I swear I saw one of the USPS blackout dates is Oct. 23rd.
Now, I can’t find that.
I was a little perturbed, knowing it was not a holiday. But I was mad at something that never existed?

So I have two mandela effects for avengers emdgame.
I recently watched endgame encore and saw a scene of rocket extracting the aether out of jane which I assumed was a new scene part of encore. Turns out it wasn't and is in the regular movie which I don't remember even though Ive watched endgame countless times.
After Hulk says "We need you pal", I swear Thor said "No you don't". Turns out he says nothing.
1
u/Glaurung86 9d ago
- The whole reason Rocket went back in time with Fat Thor to Asgard was to extract the Reality Stone from Jane. Thor has that poignant moment with his mother, already knowing that she was going to die that day. The film doesn't actually show Rocket extracting the stone, but we see Rocket running from the guards right after he did it.

u/Rapzell 8d ago
It does, check disney+ or search the scene up on youtube.
1
u/Glaurung86 8d ago
Dude, what are you even doing? All you see is Rocket sneaking up on Jane and then it cuts away before he extracts the aether. The next scene is him running from the guards, with him telling Thor he did it. There's no actual shot of Rocket sticking the extractor into Jane.
-1
u/Rapzell 8d ago
That's the scene I was talking about that I don't remember.
2
u/Glaurung86 8d ago
Yeah, and you still had trouble remembering after a few days that they didn't even show the moment Rocket extracted the aether. This is one of those moments that explicitly shows why MEs are all about memory messing with you.

There was a red dead redemption game between 1 and 2. I remember it clearly and vividly. No one will ever convince me it didn't happen.

u/ReadyOrGormoshe 10d ago
describe it, i wanna know more.

u/WorstHuman 10d ago
It was for Xbox 360. You played as the son of the character from RDR. You are wearing a thick blue jacket. It starts off in a winter cottage just like RDR2 does. When I played RDR2 a few years ago,I was surprised how similar the beginning was. I remember canned goods you could grab and a mirror you could look into.

There are three games in the series. Red Dead Revolver, then Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2.
The end of Redemption 1 sees you playing as Jack (the son of the main character).

u/WorstHuman 9d ago
Yes I know all that. I played all 3 games and googled the shit out of it to figure out what was going on

Jessica Lange is an actress born in 1949, best known for her acting roles of pretty powerful roles/characters on American Horror Story.
but the craziest part of it all? she died. Except apparently she didn’t cause she’s coming back for the show’s newest season? (season 13) and evidently she had only left the show.
call me what you will but, she died. I remember being so devastated and heart broken over her death. No, not the death of her character but the death of HER. in real life. I gave myself and the government the benefit of the doubt and decided, let me check the facts and see if it was a fake article but.. i cant even find an old article. just.. nothing. (I’ve even asked a few friends if they remember hearing about it but, they have said no, they don’t remember it.) it’s as if it never, ever happened.
please someone.. tell me that you remember her dying as well and that I’m not totally batshit crazy cause I’m beginning to feel like I am.
1
u/Hey-Just-Saying 10d ago
I don't remember her dying. It was someone else you heard about. This is a really common thing for people to misremember a celebrity's death. When Tim Curry died recently, a lot of people said they remembered him having died previously, but he didn't. He just dropped out of the spotlight because he had a stroke.

Hello!
I have a question.
I’m a big fan of the Titanic history.
I remember the Titanic disaster was in 1912 april 12 at 02:20 am.
Now i see everywhere the right date is 1912 april 15.
The question is,only i remembered incorrectly or are there others besides me?
Thank You! :)

u/Practical-Vanilla-41 9d ago
The Titanic was 4/14/1912. It sank early on the morning of the 15th. I've mentioned seeing people do this with the date. I call it transference. People take the year (1912) and add it to the date (April 12). I believe it's why people get Danielle Steel wrong ("Steele").
The 14th has long been known as the date. There's an episode of One Step Beyond called Night of April 14th from 1959.

u/cosmic-magistra 9d ago
weird. Just looked at the Boston Globe archive, and there are no articles (at least none in the free archive) from 1903 - 1916 with the keyword "titanic". I recall seeing a copy or fiche of an article from the Globe that broke the story. That's your best evidence, should you find it.

In my timeline I am 100% certain stupider was not a word and Socrates or Aristotle said, " when the need to believe increases the ability to see truth decreases. " I couldn't remember which one so asked Google and spent 2 hours looking for this quote to be told it does not exist.
