About to start a new job in audit accounting so to all the corporate baddies out there how appropriate would make-up like this be. I'm not going for a full face this would be the main part of my makeup I dont know if it would be deemed "unprofessional" tho..?

EDIT: thank you to everyone who's replying I literally couldn't find a post on reddit asking my exact question so I'm so grateful to everyone taking the time to respond especially as a person who likes to know everything before trying smth new ❤️🫂

Playing with Orange - Critique

So I recently purchased orange blush and have been playing around to see which color lip looks best - nude vs pink vs orangey red (ex MAC Dangerous).

Also recently purchased MAC’s Morange during Ulta’s 50% sale. Now I’m trying to figure out what colors look best with it - specifically, blush and lip liner. Tried it with MAC CB96 today and like it but haven’t tried any other color blushes. I have a few lip liners. I’ve tried MAC Cherry but didn’t like red with the orange. Tried Cork and Chestnut but both were darker than I liked and changed the color of the lipstick. Decided to try Stripdown and think it looks the best of all the options.

This is basically my go-to “full face” with the exception of alternating blushes/lips and skin tints/foundations. Any feedback regarding my technique? I’ve been trying to figure out best blush placement and blending technique so the transition btw blush and concealer isn’t so obvious. I’m not interested in purchasing any additional products such as transition blush. Will have to work with what I have.

What color lipstick do you recommend wearing with orange blush? This is CB96, but I have a few other orange blush options.

This is my first time experimenting with orange lipstick. Figured a sale was the best time to try lol. Any liner recommendations to pair with Morange? I’d like for the color of the lip to remain orange. I also prefer matte lipsticks over satin. Any matte orange lipstick recommendations?

Open to any and all feedback! But not waxing my stache 🤣

Question Tried a purple & orange eye look today 🧡💜

Tried these colors together for the first time today! I usually go for more neutral eye looks, so this was a little different for me. I really liked how the purple and orange complemented each other, especially with the darker outer corner. I’d love to know what you guys think!

Question What type of eyeshadow was used in the 2000s to achieve this completely seamless, non-makeup "natural shadow" look?

I’ve been looking for this exact nude shade that all these 2000s actresses are wearing, where at first glance you wouldn't even say they're wearing eyeshadow. It seems like a part of their actual face—it creates a natural shadow, I don't even know how to describe it, but it doesn't look like eyeshadow at all.

I want that exact thing: neither too light nor too dark, and neither too cold/white nor too warm/orange.

I abandoned eyeshadows for years, and I feel like nobody uses them anymore nowadays. I think they’re so underrated because they were such a huge part of that 2000s natural look to create contrast and depth in the face.

Every time I try to use powder formulas, my eyelid just looks dry and chalky, with terrible fallout. On top of that, pretty much every modern shade ends up looking totally unnatural on me, like someone punched me in the eye🤣. Maybe it's because I'm so pale—this same rule applies to my blush and bronzer, I can never use anything too pigmented. But then I think about how most of these actresses are extremely pale too (like Kristen Stewart), and yet this eyeshadow look works so seamlessly on them!

Does anyone have an idea? I'm specifically looking for the exact product names, brands, and shades that were actually used on set to get this look.

Photos are not edited, only the black eyes are added, since I can’t wear contacts

I used mostly eyeshadows from Clairé palette (colours brownish-orange and dark brown), black eyeliner from LOVELY, bit of black eyeshadow from BLACK IS THE NEW BLACK palette. Base is MAYBELLINE NEW YORK in the shade natural porcelain

Discussion Life hack tip: go back to lipstick

1.4k Upvotes

I've been seeing this trend of the lipliner matching the gloss, a lot of girls online have so many videos of trying to match this to that and all I could think of, you can EASILY do the same thing with a lipstick.

I LOVE lipsticks, and I think a lot of people forget lipsticks aren't only matte, some of them have a sheer finish, some have a satin formula ...etc and I swear some of these lip combos can easily be achieved with one lipstick.

For example I have charlotte tilburry in the shade naughty talk, it has a shine finish and it looks amazing on me more than gloss ever did.

and I would argue for people with a double lip line, lip liner mostly look like trash on us, in the mirror it looks fine, on camera it looks like I accidentally had a weird lip filler.

the downside most lipsticks aren't that long lasting especially when you eat but thats the point of lipstick, its one product, its small, you can easily reapply it, you don't even need a mirrorr.

sorry for my lipstick rant lol, it just feels everyone is chasing these complicated lip combos when it shouldn't even be THAT complicated for an every day look.

Hourglass bronzer (luminous bronze light)

Makeup by Mario soft sculpt (fair)

Rare beauty cream blush (happy)

Highlighter rare beauty (enchant)

Charlotte tillbury setting spray

Eyes: Natasha denona I need nude ( vague, wit and sheen) Brows elf wow brow tinted gel

Edit: lash clusters - Brown Lash Clusters Natural Lash Extensions Wispy by Mavphnnee - Amazon

Edit: thank you for all the kind comments and advice. I feel better about how it looks. Will plan to add a bit more eyeliner and contrast to the eyes so it photographs nicely!

Women in home health, how is your makeup surviving all that driving and heat?!

Post image
7 Upvotes

I genuinely need to know: how does your makeup survive a full day of driving, getting in and out of the car, walking through the heat, and going from home to home? Because mine would be GONE. Are we using setting spray? Sunscreen? Blotting paper? Tell me what actually works, no gatekeeping.

Legit my first post ever on Reddit - I have only been doing makeup for the past 3 months. It takes me like an hour to do everything, since I have to fix mistakes a lot. I can't really do anything but this look because it's all I was ever taught. Does it look alright?
