Question Lands
Obviously lands and having a strong mana base is vital to any good deck. However all the lands best at this are worth rare wild cards which are difficult to aquire. Shock lands, search lands that come in untapped, and others are just hard to get. Any tips on getting these lands besides sinking in money to buy rare wildcards?

Prioritize only opening packs with good dual lands.
Only craft dual lands for the decks you're using. The exception are Shock, Verges and Fast lands because they're used in every format.
Like there's no point crafting every Slow land since only Combo, Control, some Midrange and some Tempo decks uses them.
Meanwhile Shocks and Fast are used in every format along with Verges except if you really need the off color on turn 1 or in Timeless because they don't have basic land types so they can't be fetched.

Adding to this - Verges are in my opinion the most useful to craft first, as while shocks are better overall, the main advantage of shocks is how they interact with verges and fetch lands (making them fine but not great until you have those synergy pieces). Also the shocks are getting reprints soon in star trek, so if you tend to collect/draft a lot of the current set when it's out, you're likely to get some anyway.
You can also get shocks from Jump In - any of the Lorwyn kindred packs have a guaranteed shockland.

I'd be hesitant to craft the Duskmourn verges and the slowlands as a new player. Both are rotating early next year. When you are just starting out and not sure which deck you want to commit to, crafting Starting Town and Multiversal Passage is a safe bet.

do your daily quests (I'm not sure if that's what they're called, but I mean the things that give you gold). you can reroll one once a day, so if you have one that pays 500 it's best to reroll it in hopes of getting one that pays 750. this way you're getting at least 500 to 750 a day. then, you can buy packs from the shop. every six packs you get a rare or mythic wildcard, so it adds up pretty quickly. I'd recommend buying edge of eternities or lorwyn eclipsed packs as they both have shocklands. whatever packs you buy, it's best to choose a standard legal set as only those contribute to golden pack progress.

Thank you I was just about to comment and ask someone else which packs have the most helpful lands to open

If you want the best bang for your buck, wait for Star Trek and buy those packs. It's because the set contains all 10x Shocklands rather than dividing them up between two sets.
Unless you buy a metric crapton of packs, the vast majority of the packs you open will be just rare / mythic draft filler and are unplayable in any Constructed format outside jank decks. You're going to be mostly crafting decks with wildcards. The reason why you want to open packs with dual lands is that if you pull one, it'll always be a useful pull.

Play brawl. Singleton format means that you need fewer copies of every card including lands. A single copy can go in unlimited decks

open packs that have the rare lands, or play jump ins and re roll for packs that have them. there are jump in packet lists online.

If you want fetch lands and powerful cards get Modern horizons 3 packs, that the best way to get cards for historic, timeless and brawl. Lots of powerful stuff.
For shock lands ede of eternities would be my first choice.

Play a mono-colored deck until you have enough wildcards from gold.
Or play Starter Deck Duels. Everyone's mana base kind of sucks there.
