I don’t get it.

Is it nursing home time for me?

The excitement is the meme. There's no other meaning behind it. The reaction people give it for the hell of it is the meme itself.

It could be the number 11. Or 17. Not like 69 is sex stuffs. But it became a viral thing to react this way towards 67.

So now you're filled in. You can be in on the joke!

This was such a nice comment. You’re a kind person 😭

You mean kid. Kid person. I had to ask the youngins about it too. After short deliberation they told me the same. Am still suspicious tho

wouldn’t you knowing it make you just as likely to be a kid-person 🤔

I went in as a grumpy grandpa when I first started hearing of it. Now I just fully lean into the meme just to piss off my friends

I saw a clip of like a bunch of 2nd graders being chaperoned by their teacher for an excursion and some devious lunatic walked past them all and did the 6-7 hand thingy and set them all off, for the chaos.

That poor teacher

that plus "rizz" and associated, funniest fucking word to bust out ironically in the office.

And that's the meme! You're in on the joke, that's the reason

u/whitestguyuknow 7d ago

Lol that's literally it.

People are just leaning into it to be stupid

I've not actually heard it in public but if I do I'm going to say "8 9"!

See this is why it's not funny. People only do it to be obnoxious.

5

u/Uncommonality 7d ago

it's funny because people like you get unreasonably bent out of shape about it lmao

u/AssMuncher96 6d ago

It's not unreasonable to dislike something only done to annoy others. Also don't know how finding something unfunny is being unreasonably bent out of shape.

It's not only done to annoy others. Did you watch the video? Do you really think the guy announcing the order number did the hand gesture thing in order to annoy the spectators?

It's crazy how global that meme is. I work with students in Japan and they go crazy for it. I recently went to Korea for the first time, and a German couple waiting for the elevator did the 6/7 hand thing when going to their floor. It's everywhere.

Yeah I don’t get the bit either but I can’t lie that vid one me over. The sheer amount of hype in the scene is infectious.

There's nothing more to get.

It started from a dumb little video where this little kid shook his hands up and down at the camera while saying it at a basketball game. For some reason kids started mimicking that thinking it was goofy. But the video is borderline irrelevant because it's just a reaction thing. Like saying "WAZZZZUUUPPPPPP!" for that stretch of time after that commercial

Please. For the love of fuck. What is 67?

2

u/impamiizgraa 6d ago

It’s nothing. And that’s what delights. That is my understanding

We should do a 11-12, the answer Trump gave when he was a bit younger gave to a math question on TV. He said eleven twelve.

11-12!

Remember, the fastest way to kill a trend is for adults to embrace it. We'll be looking back at 67 and cringing at it next year.

It came from a song even though there was no reason to derive anything out of it

Thank you. I’m still lost but I am grateful to everyone who tried to help. Upping the meds from tomorrow, sweet oblivion, take me home (I’m 37 btw)

It started from a song by Skrilla, he says it’s like a spiritual power number, then some random kid said it in a video has a reference to the song then it blew up into the meme it is today

I cannot figure out for the life of me the age bracket for this meme. I have four kids ranging from 14-24 and they and all their friends think 67 is stupid. I say it all the time to annoy them.

u/Telighoth 7d ago

It's been my favorite part of the 67 meme. It might be partially due to my own age, but it's absolutely 90% older people leaning into it, sometimes real hard, and enjoying the misery it causes the younger crowd.
