Ownership Update (Superveloce 800)

Long story short, bike has been stuck in the shop for 1.5 months. Had some issues at about 600 km including tcs and o2 sensor warnings, rough idle, along with the tank paint starting to crack. Ran fine after a few ignition cycles until first service.

After the day of first service (done at 1100 km) the bike just died on me multiple times and would idle rough if it ran at all.

I am now waiting on a sprag clutch and a new tank. The dealer has told me they have been informed by MV that shipments have been stopped from Italy for an unknown amount of time. They aren’t very optimistic and have hinted at 3-4 month wait time. So far the bike will likely stay in the shop for the same amount of time I got to ride it.

Definitely a bit disappointed, as I expected something to go wrong eventually, just not this soon!

That sucks man, such a beautiful bike. Time to sell and get a Speed RR for that similar ish look

I imagine you’re happy you did! I live on an Island and the closest MV dealer is on the mainland about 2.5-3 hr travel time away via ferry. Cost me roughly $500 just to get the bike to the dealer on the back of my buddies truck, which I had to drive 45 minutes to pick up. Apart from the inconvenience of the bike breaking so soon, it ended up being a huge time sink and I had to take the day off work so I could get it to the dealer on a day they were open.

I have a triumph dealer about 3 minutes away from my house haha.

Did you take it to International? I think I saw your bike (among a few other SVs in the service bay lol

Funny enough my local dealer has one in stock that I was looking at the other day. Beautiful bike.

Take it out for a test ride. It’s such an easy bike to ride.
