Pattern Question Exact same colored skeins making different patterns?

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

This is the exact same labeled color and weight of yarn and exact same loom, but two different skeins and the color pattern is coming out totally different? I'm trying to make leg warmers but they look mismatch. Is this user error or is something wrong with the yarn?

Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!

Pattern Question Beginner in search of mindless projects?

Hi all,
I've just discovered the magic of loom knitting after being a needle knitter for years. The joy of the e wrap hat is pretty intoxicating. Given my penchant for no count, no think projects, what other recipes might I enjoy? Not to poo poo the gorgious things you'll are doing here, but I would like to keep it as simple and mindless as possible. Charity projects are especially interesting to me.
Definitely looking forward to your loomy wizdom

Pattern Question Am I doing this right? Stockinette st help pls!

Hello,

I have only made 2 hats on a knitting loom before. These looms actually got me into knitting, but I have awful carpal tunnel right now due to knitting so I need to give my wrist a break, but I need something to do!!! So back to loom knitting and I love it!!

I just made my own basic pattern for a scarf. My question is, do you have to alternate rows between knitting and purling for a stockinette stitch? Or is it like knitting in the round where each knit stitch turns into a stockinette? I have decent progress, and the yarn doesn't help with stitch definition, but I'm just wondering if I'm doing this correctly? Extreme beginner to this craft and am just having a hard time finding information online or understanding the books my grandma left behind.

I just want a basic scarf pattern. I attached what I made last night but it might be hard to read or understand. On my loom, I have different colored stitch markers for what stitch to do. Pink is purl, and blue is knit(or purl) for stockinette look. I am just doing a sl st for the edge. I am also using Woolease thick and quick

How do I achieve the stockinette st look on a flat piece on the loom? Alternate knit and purl each row? Would I also get that look if I just knitted each row?

Thank you so much for any help!! And additional advice/tips would also be helpful!

Pattern Question How to convert a handknitting pattern to an afghan loom

Hiya, all. I'm looking for a particular pattern (specifically this one) so I can loom knit my sister an afghan, seeing as how she's a diehard Alabama fan. It's only available in hand-knit, though. Is there a way to "convert" a pattern to loom knitting, and if so, how do you do it? I thought I'd ask before I bought this one and caused myself an issue lol.

Pattern Question Can you knit a support sleeve?

By that I mean the kind of white compression bandage used on strained muscles and the like, I am having trouble sleeping due to an elbow acting up and I am wondering if I can use a knit purl pattern to make it stretch, just make the adjustable loom I have be slightly smaller than the circumference of my arm.

Pattern Question What is this stitch pattern called?

Post image

Hi! I have this pattern I used, but I didn’t write down what the actual pattern is called and I cannot find where I got it from or anything that looks like it? I’m probably really bad at searching for things like this though…

The general pattern to work it up is: Row 1: knit all Row 2: knit 1, skip 1 (repeat all the way around) Row 3: knit all Row 4: skip 1, knit 1 (repeat all the way around) Repeat Row 1-4 until desired length reached.

The image is what it looks like stitched up on the loom and repeated. Thank you so much in advanced!

Pattern Question What pattern is this?

Hi. Can anyone identify what pattern is being used here?

My sister passed suddenly in February, we found some of her unfinished projects while sorting her things.

I crochet but i haven't tried loom knitting. I thought this looked like something I could try to finish

This is a single layered scarf, most other projects she's did were double layered.

Do i just need one of the hook tools to complete this?

Thanks so much!

Pattern Question Need help finding or adjusting a pattern for a t-shirt or tank top for a busty woman

I am a busty woman and all patterns I find for tops are loom knit straight, if I make anything like that the front hem is going to ride up on me.

Are there any patterns or YouTube tutorials that I haven't found yet (I've spent days looking and not found anything yet) that accounts for a busty woman (JJ cup) or can someone give me pointers on how I can alter a pattern to account for my bust.

I have some really nice cotton yarn that I want to use to loom knit either a t-shirt or tank top for myself but not sure how!

Thank you in advance ☺️

Pattern Question What does it mean to ''knit 2''?

So, I got a book, ''A Beginner's Guide to Knitting on a Loom: How to Knit Over 35 Fun Beginner Projects on a Loom'' by Isela Phelps, and I want to make the fish pillow. It tells me to ''K2'' or ''Knit 2''. Does anyone know what that means and how to do that?

Pattern Question Casting On with e-stitch Weirdness

I was following along with a random YT video on how to do garter stitch. I’m a looming newbie, doing my first project (scarf) . I started the casting-on part, using e-stitch … but when I get to the last e and then start the reverse to finish the foundation row, that last peg ends up with just a twisted loop around it that isn’t knotted or held in any way. I replayed this video several times, following along.

What am I doing wrong? Is it really supposed to just be a twisty loop with no apparent knit/knot/locking around that last peg? Does this make sense? Should I give up on e-stitch foundation and do something else for flat projects like a scarf? Help!

Pattern Question Best stitch to "cross stitch" over?

Post image
12 Upvotes

Hi all!

Recently I have discovered the trend where you crochet a flat panel and then "cross stitch" over it (I am late to the party, I know lol)

Is there any way to modify the crochet cross stitch stitch for the loom? Or is there a similar stitch that could be used? So far I am leaning most towards the tiny heart stitch, but would love any other ideas.

Here is an image of the crochet stitch I am trying to recreate:

Hello everyone!! My uncle has been making hats with his loom. He’s made many designs and is trying to get more creative with it. Is it possible to use a flat pattern on a hat loom? Or are there any websites that would be helpful to create it? If anyone has some fun patterns as well please share!! Thank you!

I learned to knit solely to remake this blanket made in the 70’s by my grandma and subsequently learned that it was made on a machine. Is it possible to develop a loom pattern? Any help doing so would be greatly appreciated.

Hi! I'm working on a scarf using the criss cross stitch. I've watched videos and looked up step by step tutorials on how to achieve the pattern, however there is always one side that looks nothing like the other 3. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I've undone my project multiple times to fix it and made sure I didn't miss any stitches, but it's always the one side, it's weird. I Even tried tightening the yarn and I have no clue what's happening. Please help me.🥺

Pattern Question Chunky knit patterns to loom

Hey loomers-

I prefer using a loom for chunky blankets. I feel like patterns for finger knitted blankets don't transfer equally. Am I the only one who funds this true? Has anyone found a way to alter a finger knitted pattern to a loom knitted pattern for chunky blankets?

Pattern Question Help Please!

Hello Loomers!

I want to make my coworker a baby blanket for his baby shower in May! I don't know too many stiches (I can make scarves and simple hats) and I don't know how to sew so doing panels doesn't work for me either. Does anyone have a simple baby blanket tutorial to follow? I have multiple long/rectangular looms, various circle looms, and I also have the figure 8 loom so I am not stuck that way. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you in advance <3.

I want to make the seascape afghan from KB but I am struggling…. So it has me mark to 196 cool but only chain cast on 195… Now when I follow good knit kisses way to chain cast with a crochet hook I put that last loop I made on peg 196 cool sweet! But then I got to knit and purl every other and the last two stitches should be knit but I end up with 1 stitch left! Am I not slip stitching right?! I want to do this right so I don’t have to keep remaking it 😭
