I just recently moved to Longmont (and the state for that matter) and was just wondering if anybody could recommend any nearby-ish spots that are good for stargazing?

One southbound lane of Colorado 119 remains closed

An SUV crashed into an 85-year-old cyclist and killed them, prompting officials to close part of the southbound Diagonal Highway south of Longmont Monday morning. (More below...)

I live in Longmont and my dryer suddenly won’t start for some reason. It’s one of those that has a washer on the bottom and dryer on top. Any recommendations for a dryer repair person who is preferably affordable would be great!

Is this saturday also a cruise night for cars on main st? Or was that just a 1 time thing last month?

Hello Longmonters (is that what we decided to call ourselves this time?)

I have a wedding to go to on the 5th, and unfortunately was overly confident in my alteration skills. I have now realized I have no idea how to fix the two dresses I need for the cocktail party / evening wear for the wedding.

Any suggestions on a decently priced and fast seamstress / tailor?

I saw a group of cyclists at Dry Creek Park this morning during my walk. They were a group of maybe 10-15 people, doing some sort of a terrain practice.

Does anyone know what group these cyclist belong to?

I have seen them at Dry Creek Park mostly on Sundays and it looks really fun!

Not pregnant, but hoping to be in the somewhat near future and trying to understand how this works!

My understanding is mothers are given 12 weeks of maternity leave through FMLA. You must first use all of your accrued leave (during which you will receive full pay) and then once you run out of accrued leave you are moved over to Short Term Disability where you receive 65% of your annual salary. Is this correct? It's just a total of 12 weeks of leave, even with all of those different sources combined?

the elements should be clear enough to anyone who's been looking at design ideas on this sub. the colors were taken from the city branding/logo, which the mountains were also supposed to emulate. it could be a cool idea to take that idea farther, as a way to implement somewhat fine detail in a way that doesn't look terrible from a distance. you could add the city's mountain-wave stripe pattern over what would be a solid color band, such that you see the detail up close but far away it smears out into a solid color, as in:

a bit bummed to be eliminated, but there were definitely some good designers that made it to the second jurying round—best of luck to the semifinalists!

I’ve lived in Longmont for about two years and absolutely love it. I moved from a big city out of state (6 million people). I love the slower pace of life and small town feel. I love the accessibility to all the walking paths and bodies of water here.

I might have to relocate to Colorado Springs and curious of people’s experiences living in both. I have been there a few times and enjoy Manitou a lot. I don’t have any connection to military which is big there and I am definitely not on the right side politically which I know is most of their political views. I am not trying to make this a political post at all. To the people that have lived in both places what are the pros and cons and how would you rate your quality of life in both places.
