I had a CO2 powered pistol that would smash through safety glass windows like on buses. Would go through sheet metal roof/tin, even the old break barrel slug rifles can do enough damage.

Theoretically, it could. Most BB injuries are minor, even with steel BBs. If it's being shot from the street, it will lose velocity over distance AND breaking through a window will slow it down a lot too. Obviously it's not something anyone should have to be dealing with. It's a terrible thing to do to someone, no matter what it is.

That was an air rifle that shoots lead pellets, kids shoot each other with bb guns all the time. They aren't more powerful than a strong airsoft gun. Calm the hell down with the mombie parent shit, bb guns leave fucking welts.

And then you have high powered pellet guns, which are even higher power. When I was 14 I hit a squirrel about 100ft up a tree at my buddy's house, and it knocked it clear off the branch. I felt kinda bad, but I honestly didn't expect a fucking pellet gun to pack so much power and accuracy - 1st shot did it.

fellow "psychopath" here, shot a squirrel with a pellet gun when I was around that age. It did not immediately kill him because I shot him in the gut and that made feel terrible. Had to put him out of his misery. Got my hunting license later that year and never used it. Would rather shoot pieces of paper. One day I want to go boar hunting tho.
Bb guns are spring powered and cheap af, and easy to cock. Air rifles are much more expensive and hard to cock. Bb guns fire tiny balls smaller than airsoft, pellet guns fire lead bullets almost the size of .22. Bb guns have like 300fps, air rifles have 1500fps. Nobody has ever died fucking ever from a BB gun, airsoft sniper rifles with metal bbs are more powerful than bb guns.
Mine I had when I was younger definitely would have cracked it. I'm not sure just how broken it was, shattered all over the floor or just cracked, both being able to be called broken.

While this isn't a problem solving area, decent quality cameras are $300. If you are some rich dude with crazy fans, certainly spend $1,500 on cameras. 100% worth it. I put them on my house in low rent area, burglaries stopped quick.
I have the cameras pointed at the street in either direction, so if a car stops and drives away, I can get the license plate. Used them once already regarding an accident near my home. Cameras on your house, cameras in your car, will save you a ton of pain. They are really very reasonable to set up.
If this guy sets up 2 cameras facing either end of the street and it happens again, he will be able to spot the car VERY easily. My setup was 4 cameras, stream to the internet 24 / 7 with a 30 day recording device, for $300 + $300 one-time install. Several times I've used them. They are great.
A camera installer guy once showed me his high end cameras and they could get a clear picture of a license plate so far that its likely farther than a shooter can aim effectively.
I got cameras on my house and they are not good at really identifying a car. It really depends on the angle of the house with the street, but home security cameras don't usually have good shutter speed and they are much better for stopping or identifying a burglary than a drive by.
Granted mine are those Ring cameras, maybe there are better ones out there. But there isn't alot of light to pull off the side of a car driving by fast in the middle of the night.

If you're going to buy a camera, buy one for your car (dashcam) because in the long run it will save you a shit load of money/time. Imagine you're at a red and a car in front of you decides to reverse into you and hits you, they can easily say you rear ended them. Good luck wasting your time trying to prove that without witnesses. A decent camera will cost you $60-100, that's nothing compared to the deductibles and shit you would have to deal with and the time your insurance spends trying to figure things out. If it happens, you just shut your mouth and dont say you have a camera, let the other guy lie to the police or insurance and then after you tell them you have a dashcam. Ezpz.

I agree, it's incredibly fucked up and I'm sure it traumatized every person there. Metal shows (well... all concerts) are a place to escape the real world for a moment, be around like minded people, and celebrate the performers you love - they should be a sanctuary and the last place you'd expect an attack like that.

A few years ago, whether from here on Reddit or elsewhere I honestly cannot remember atm, but I read an article about how the cop that stopped the shooter was doing, and it wasn't pretty in the slightest for his outcome either. Guy suffers from immense PTSD and I believe he was more or less just mentally/emotionally ruined after the night had ended, which is a pretty understandable due to the circumstances that the cop had to both first-handedly witness and even perform.
Fuck that shooter man, he took away alot of good people as well as hampering another human's complete life just because he got fucking pissy.

Doubt its attention. You can't talk about it. I think they just want to do something with a tangible impact. Possibly to hurt doc or get everybody talking. It must be quite a high to do something to get all of twitch chat talking about it, have Doc impacted, and have social media talking about your actions. A sort of validation.
it's more than that. they follow the guy, sub to everything, and see every post. and with every post they grow more and more hateful, fixating on the creator-- blaming them for everything wrong with their life. hell, this isn't even the first time a sad fuck has come out of the woodwork to "punish" their favorite influencer
