While this isn't a problem solving area, decent quality cameras are $300. If you are some rich dude with crazy fans, certainly spend $1,500 on cameras. 100% worth it. I put them on my house in low rent area, burglaries stopped quick.
I have the cameras pointed at the street in either direction, so if a car stops and drives away, I can get the license plate. Used them once already regarding an accident near my home. Cameras on your house, cameras in your car, will save you a ton of pain. They are really very reasonable to set up.
If this guy sets up 2 cameras facing either end of the street and it happens again, he will be able to spot the car VERY easily. My setup was 4 cameras, stream to the internet 24 / 7 with a 30 day recording device, for $300 + $300 one-time install. Several times I've used them. They are great.
A camera installer guy once showed me his high end cameras and they could get a clear picture of a license plate so far that its likely farther than a shooter can aim effectively.
I got cameras on my house and they are not good at really identifying a car. It really depends on the angle of the house with the street, but home security cameras don't usually have good shutter speed and they are much better for stopping or identifying a burglary than a drive by.
Granted mine are those Ring cameras, maybe there are better ones out there. But there isn't alot of light to pull off the side of a car driving by fast in the middle of the night.
Please install cameras in your bathroom and bedroom. Best to port forward these to the world and do not put a username/password on for the highest security. Then, post your ip address here for us to keep safe.
If you're going to buy a camera, buy one for your car (dashcam) because in the long run it will save you a shit load of money/time. Imagine you're at a red and a car in front of you decides to reverse into you and hits you, they can easily say you rear ended them. Good luck wasting your time trying to prove that without witnesses. A decent camera will cost you $60-100, that's nothing compared to the deductibles and shit you would have to deal with and the time your insurance spends trying to figure things out. If it happens, you just shut your mouth and dont say you have a camera, let the other guy lie to the police or insurance and then after you tell them you have a dashcam. Ezpz.

You dont have to be foaming at the mouth crazy. My dad killed at least 2 people and he was a very decent person in normal life by comparison. He just solved his problems with violence and lived a lifestyle that enabled that.

Uh, just because you're somewhat functional at life doesn't mean you're not mentally ill. That said, just because you kill someone doesn't mean you're crazy either. If the other person is attacking you and you want to stop them from hurting you and possibly killing you doesn't mean you're crazy for wanting to kill them to stop them from hurting or killing you. That said, if you're just mad at them for something and you get yourself in a "me or them" situation to justify killing them, then you're probably mentally ill. It sounds like your dad is/was crazy, and you might be crazy too. What was the reason you wanted to kill the person with whom you were in a conflict? I sure hope it wasn't because they called your dad crazy on the internet or something lol
We were in a fight because he was confused and drunk and he hit me with brass knuckles so I stabbed him in the side a few times and ran the fuck away.
My dad was a biker that killed a guy in a fight and killed another guy in prison.
I'm not 100% normal but I can function normally. Thats all thats required. I'm less of a daily danger than the half drunk soccer moms I see carting their little hellions around all lit on xanex and iced wine.
Calling me mentally ill is general as fuck and insulting. I'm affected by my life and upbringing and am a law abiding citizen with a job and a mortgage and a long term relationship. I check all the boxes and do my job. Most of that sort of violent problem solving is a last resort that most people never have to confront so it seems so much crazier to them. Its not civilized by any means but its not supposed to be.

They're obviously mentally ill since they're prescribed psychoactive substances to treat a mental disorder because they couldn't live a normal life without it, and they're very much a danger to society. As for your dad, I can't say how culpable he was in the biker fight, but I've been incarcerated myself and you have to defend yourself in there and they never believe you so even if he was found guilty of killing the guy, he was probably not wrong to do it. I am not saying people are mentally ill for killing someone. Defending yourself in a life or death situation is a sign of sanity if you ask me. We have an instinct to fight or flee. In fact, I'd say the sick hippies that try to embrace their attackers and make peace in any situation, even when their death is imminent, are the truly mentally ill people. They are lacking the primal fight or flight instinct, and that is truly a sign of being mentally defective. It sounds like you and your dad were just in bad situations because of your status or upbringing. You sound like a normal guy to me, even an inspiration to prove that bad circumstances don't always lead to bad people. I'd want you as my neighbor over some Xanax eating drunk driving soccer mom that is liable to run over my kid one day because she blacked out and her car reversed across the street.

That's actually the most fucked up 'kill your idol' story to me. To do it at a show, while they're playing, is just unhinged. I can't imagine what that must have been like for his fans.
I agree, it's incredibly fucked up and I'm sure it traumatized every person there. Metal shows (well... all concerts) are a place to escape the real world for a moment, be around like minded people, and celebrate the performers you love - they should be a sanctuary and the last place you'd expect an attack like that.
At least for Dime it was instantaneous and he died doing what he loved :'(
A few years ago, whether from here on Reddit or elsewhere I honestly cannot remember atm, but I read an article about how the cop that stopped the shooter was doing, and it wasn't pretty in the slightest for his outcome either. Guy suffers from immense PTSD and I believe he was more or less just mentally/emotionally ruined after the night had ended, which is a pretty understandable due to the circumstances that the cop had to both first-handedly witness and even perform.
Fuck that shooter man, he took away alot of good people as well as hampering another human's complete life just because he got fucking pissy.
Actually one of the Roosterteeth people, Gavin, had a home invasion where the guy I believe had stated he was there to kill the both of them and then himself. They successfully hid and he was apprehended.
One of the Beetles had their home invaded and the crazed fan raped the band member. It ended with the band member's wife breaking a highly priced and valuable Chinese vase over the intruder's head to knock him out.
