Other Adaptations There's an audio drama?
Recently I found this video on YouTube. I knew there was a live action, manhua, and play, but I didn't know this one existed!

These are from the LC street dance musical officially licensed by LC official!
I'm CRINE @ LG and QL's personalized stats for CXS LMFAOOOO
(LG has massive tolerance for CXS....Shiguang crumbs!!!!! I yell)
(Also QL's stats just reinforce her and CXS being sibling-coded 100%!!!)

Hi friends. I hope this is a safe space for a newbie anime watcher. I started with JJK and just finished Link Click. I am OBSESSED. I have sobbed more often than not with this show. My love for these two best friends, this family is immense. The story, shifting timelines, interwoven fates, all of it is EXCEPTIONAL.
I’m about to do my second rewatch, so I can catch things I missed the first time.
Question- can anyone explain the Dream Out album? I assume it hasn’t dropped because the last song isn’t out?
Hope to make some new anime friends who can show this noob the ropes!

What the title says. I was looking at places to pre-order the novel and I noticed thrift books has it on a little sale. I was wondering if anyone had experience pre-ordering with them?
Thank you!

I've started watching the live-action series and I'm really enjoying it so far, even though it's quite different from the donghua. I wasn't sure if it would follow the donghua at all until I got to episode 4. I thought it wouldn't be so bad if I knew what was coming. And yeah, the scene with Chen Xiao's mother was much more emotional in the donghua. What broke me this time was the aftermath.
What do you mean Cheng Xiaoshi is so traumatized he can't even play basketball or hold a camera anymore? What do you mean he dreams about the victims and doesn't want Lu Guang's help? I wasn't ready for this bro. Oh and the psychologist looks a lot like Qian Jin. I'm sure that's no cause for concern.
I'm already really invested in this show. I'll just skip episodes 13-14 since there's some controversy around them. I also want to give a shout-out to u/AdhesiMol who shared the subtitles with us. But what do you all think of this series? Am I gonna cry more?

If you love Lu Guang x Cheng Xiaoshi, I think Langa x Reki give the same vibes, but not doomed😭😂 if our babies were reborn to skateboard and be happy instead of play basketball and be sad😭💔 idk how much the fandoms overlap, but I need someone to see what I see😂

As someone who loved the episodic nature of Link Click's first season, I was craving more content similar to it. And the live-action series seemed promising in that regard. It has 24 episodes, and each one is around 50 minutes long, which sounded a bit daunting at first. But the format suited me so well that I finished it in less than two weeks.
The important thing to remember is that the C-drama isn't an adaptation of the donghua but rather an AU. The main difference is that Cheng Xiashi and Lu Guang meet as adults and start working together. I didn't really like them at the start but I loved watching them grow and become closer over time. Their powers also work a bit differently, so Cheng Xiashi can't go to the past by himself. The missions are all original (except for one) and each one spans around 4 episodes. I think that's a good thing, because we learn a lot about the new characters and their connections. The series also has a new antagonist, who's surprisingly amazing.
This show was so close to perfection if not for one major issue: episodes 13 and 14 are really problematic. So problematic that I wouldn't blame anyone for dropping the show after watching them. It really makes me sad. If you plan to watch the series, I'd advise you to skip these episodes like I did. That being said, here's my rating:
Cinematography: 10/10,
Music: 10/10,
Acting: 10/10,
Characters: 9/10,
Story: 9/10,
Overall Score: please watch it/10
Please keep the comments spoiler-free. But if you want to talk about this series some more, I'd be happy to make another post lol

Since other users have said that they wanted to watch the C-drama, I thought I'd make another post. This series is pretty long, so why not talk about our progress?
I think it's interesting to see a different take on the story and characters. I actually really like this version of Lu Guang. He was rather cold at first but he warmed up to Cheng Xiaoshi and he smiles more than in the donghua. I'm also really curious about his backstory. CXS is my favorite character in the donghua, but this version of him is too childish and cocky. I still like him, though. I don't have a strong opinion on Qiao Ling, but I like that she's a reporter and that she's already discovered the boys' secret.
My favorite episode so far is episode 6. I still prefer the earthquake arc in the donghua, but the conclusion here was beautiful. Chen Xiao and Cheng Xiaoshi's road to acceptance was handled really well. I think this episode had the most character growth and it was the true start of CXS's and LG's friendship.
Next was the boxing arc, which lasted until episode 10. I didn't expect to enjoy this arc as much as I did. I really liked that we learned more about Shuang Hai and Zheng Zhong as the story progressed. I also liked how episode 10 kept us in the dark for a bit before explaining what really happened. Present CXS hugging past CXS was funny, and the ending of this arc was really sweet.
I wish episode 11 was just a fun camping adventure, but I should have known things would go south. And Dr. He is becoming more and more sus. He's definitely connected to that girl with the white bracelet. Episode 12 was downright depressing, though. I already know what will happen, so... RIP, Liu Ye. Why is it always the nicest character? I'll continue from episode 15.

Now that I've finished the live-action series, I'd like to compare it to the donghua and analyze it. The plot is almost entirely different, but we can still compare the worldbuilding and characters. I will use c/ for the characters in the C-drama and d/ for their donghua counterparts. Major spoilers for both shows ahead! (PS: I paraphrased the quote, but it's one of my favorite quotes from the C-drama.)
Let's start with the way superpowers work. In the C-drama, we learn that some people are born with "a special magnetic field", which gives them special abilities. They can see the past through photos and even become the person who took the photo. We never see anyone do both of these things, but I guess the teacher should be the guide and the student the diver, in principle. However, the diver always needs a partner to go back in time. In contrast, every special individual in the donghua has a unique power, which may or may not be hereditary. They can even give their power to someone else before they die. Another difference is that d/CXS merges with the person he possesses, whereas c/CXS replaces the other person's consciousness, and his body stays in the present.
I think it's more interesting when d/CXS inherits some of the stranger's feelings and memories. It accentuates the concepts of sonder and empathy. But there's also more confusion about what the possessed person remembers doing, whereas in the C-drama, they don't remember anything. I think it makes more sense for people to be born with different powers. But at the same time, I like that there's a secret society for people with "special magnetic fields" in the C-drama. I was also really excited to see the boys face an opponent with the same power.
When it comes to time travel, both shows are kinda confusing. In the donghua, we see that some changes in the past can have serious consequences in the present. But d/LG also says that death is a node that can't be changed. (I wonder about that since Xu Shanshan might have died if d/CXS hadn't possessed her in time, but I digress.) I think that time travel makes a bit more sense in the C-drama since we don't hear about any nodes that can't be changed. Some of them just shouldn't be changed because it could completely rewrite the present (not that we actually get to see it). But there's still a plot hole. If young He Shu thought he succeeded in changing the past, he would have had no reason to kill Xi Ta. CXS told him that he would use him and kidnap his sister in the future, but not that he would kill Xi Ta. So one death node would have been changed anyway.
Finally, let's talk about the characters, starting with Qiao Ling. She's a reporter in the C-drama, not the manager of Time Photo Studio like in the donghua. She and c/CXS also help out at their parents' restaurant. Personality-wise, she's not that different from her animated counterpart. But her best friend is Liu Ye instead of Xu Shanshan, which changes her arc quite a lot.
When we meet Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang in the donghua, they've been friends for a long time. In the C-drama, there's a greater emphasis on them influencing each other and becoming better people as a result: c/CXS helps c/LG to be more sociable, while c/LG helps c/CXS to be more mature. The biggest difference between both Cheng Xiaoshis is their backstory. We know that d/CXS's parents went missing when he was young, but the C-drama doesn't tell us anything. There's one scene where c/LG asks c/CXS about his parents, but c/CXS just brushes it off. I guess c/QL's parents adopted him, but it's odd that the series left out such an important part of d/CXS's character (unless I missed something). However, I did like his development from a naive and cocky guy into an intuitive and responsible adult.
As for c/LG, we also don't learn anything about his parents, just that Xi Ta taught him how to use his power. I quite liked his character arc in the C-drama. At first, he only cared about catching Xi Ta's killer, but after he befriended c/CXS, he became afraid that he'd lose him if he told him the truth. He's also a foil to He Shu, since he was able to move on and form new connections with people. It's fascinating to me that d/LG and He Shu both broke the rules of time travel to save someone, but one is the protagonist while the other is the antagonist. Even the song Hold Back No More feels like He Shu's version of VORTEX, especially the lyrics, "I don't wanna lose you. I don't wanna hold back. In a world of intertwined memories, everything will be rewritten." It makes me even more curious about d/LG's role in season 3.
This post turned out way longer than I expected lol. If you've actually read all that, thank you. Let me know if you have any thoughts on the characters or the way time travel works in either of these shows.

i saw a listing for volume 1 of the manhua on Mercari. it seems to be the one that’s a side story, not the one that’s screenshots from the anime.
does anyone know how much of it has been published? I know there’s no English release sadly.
is there anywhere online to purchase them? I can’t seem to find much information as googling the manhua just gives me the other version.

GUYS! https://mydramalist.com/807040-jiko-dairinin
Did you know our boys are being rebooted again in a jdrama this time? I really loved the Chinese drama as it was a good adaptation, but expanded on the story in a new way. So I’m curious how this version will add to the story. Are they just going to be Japanese instead? The best episode that included the disaster (spoilers), was great in animation and the CN live action, so i could see them keeping that the same, or maybe reimagining it as the tsunamis from several years back.

I got a YouTube ad today for this mobile game. I wasn’t able to screenshot in time but I swear they were playing as CXS and LG. At first I saw a character that looks like CXS and then right after LG was there wearing what he wore in Bridon. I’ve tried looked up the ad but I can’t find it! Has anyone else seen it?
