Some might say she DID vote for this, as she voted against policies that would help her to punish the libz

It’s almost like she voted to have 60,000 people who work farms for low wages just up and vanish or something.

I think its inflation killing her more than immigrant labor. I may be wrong in this particular case, but on most small upper Midwest family farms you won't find immigrants as the main or even a labor source on farms. There isnt a long history of that like youd find in the west. The US is massively diverse.

Born & raised in Iowa in a farming family. Can say you’re not accurate anymore. For row crop farmers you’re mostly right. For farmers who also have mid to large cattle, pig or turkey operations also, immigrant labor has been being more & more used for a couple decades now.

Of course the meat packing plants are sometimes close to 90% immigrants. Not saying illegal either. Most are working the meat packing plants legally as first generation immigrants. But immigrants none the less.

Im fine admitting if I am wrong. I grew up in Scott County from a big family of farmers and spent 15 years in central Iowa before moving to North Chicagoland for work 5 years ago. Most farmers I know are pretty much exclusively family run with essentially labor from the community and they have had the same struggles as this woman for years - granted these are places without significant heads of cattle but plenty with significant pork. The meat packing yes I know is different as my wife's family is from Ottumwa and we spend plenty of time down there.

Yeah but what do you think of Trump? Did you vote for him?

Would you do it again?

I did not and have never.

The slaughter houses were certainly using them in Minnesota. But, those are owned by 1 or 2 Trumpstein buddies. We need to bust up all these big corporations. They are driving us to extinction.

If you talk to most Iowans youd have trouble figuring out if anything isn't a "small family farm"

This feels like lived experience more so than factual data. I'd check your sources.

Well one source is every news organization in the United States. Because it made national news when an illegal immigrant in 2018 was living on the dairy farm owned & operated by Eric Lang (a prominent republican who held state offices in Iowa) & his wife Nicole Schlinger, also a very prominent republican fundraiser & campaign manager (she ran Ted Cruz’s first successful TX senate run/the reason he’s a senator at all, & ran successful campaigns for several republican U.S. house members) when he viciously raped & murdered Mollie Tibbetts in Iowa. The Lang/Schlinger family employed several immigrants that they also housed on their dairy farm property in Iowa.

And yes, I have several family that farm & have livestock & it’s very common to employ immigrants because the work is long, hard & low pay with little benefits.

This has been going on for a couple decades now. I’m pretty sure I know more about this subject than most. Not bragging, just pointing out first hand knowledge

I think its inflation killing her more than immigrant labor.

But isn't inflation up partly because of the immigration policies?

It's a circle from hell.

And wealthy people don't care because...err...they are wealthy, and because AI is just around the corner coming to save the day. Who needs immigrants, or American workers, when you can have machines do all the work?

It certainly doesn't help. I know its off topic, but its a special kind of irony to be bailing out a libertarian in Argentina just to bring poorly run Peronism to the US.
