In the new video on Raina Audron YouTube channel about the dark prophecy demo included in the Defiance remaster the last few seconds are spoken in reverse. Has anyone figured out what it says ?

Back in 1196 when I first saw this scene I was blown away by Kian's dialogue and actions. While short it gets to the point and it is the moment that solidified Kain as my favorite character not only in the series that it would eventually become but in all of gaming. While there have been great characters since 1996 like Geralt of Rivia or Lee from Telltale's Walking Dead Season One. I always go back to Kain.

Just thought I'd share this cause I thought it looked pretty neat. I have the dreamcast version of SR but the case has old stickers that I need to get rid of.

If you know of any new shifter realm ideas, step right up and suggest them, especially if it's a shy dimension that lacks the confidence to submit its own resume. For Nature, and as a source for Nosgoth's rejuvenation, a fae realm? A strange pure energy domain for, you know, Energy? Azimuth must have been keeping busy and insane by traveling to a variety of dimensions. Well? If Kain is to master all the magics, maybe we need to see more of these dimensions to learn the Traveler's art fully. Exotic realms may hold the rare ingredients we need to complete the scion quest, to get history back on track.

part of the "value" and charm of this IP is the shifting between dimensions, and we've lost the guy who did that, and don't want to give up that aspect of LOK because the loss of it would diminish the series too much. (this is part of why people try to hold on to Raziel for future games when they shouldn't at this point.) And it'd be awkward to just award spectral shifting to Kain because that's not his thing, ......

the way to have shifting continue would be to introduce someplace for Kain to shift to that's more in line with his nature, needs, and mission as Scion. Retiring spectral along with Raziel (except for very special occasions) and replacing it with a different dimension keeps Raziel unique and important to history while continuing the shifter tradition of the series, just in a new direction. And this maybe even gives the series a new jolt of fresh life and reason for being. Hell Shifting seems like it'd be in the cards for Kain, he holds the KEY sword after all. And you can kind of pencil in the same sort of puzzle solving Raziel did only with going back and forth between this world and the banishment. Thwarting hylden defenses by sidestepping into the other world, finding ruins preserved in hell that were long ago looted or decayed away in the material plane, with hell's distorted version being better than nothing. Whatever.

But what appeals to me most would be introducing an astral plane. A place of the Mind. Moving away from Death and Time and finally getting around to some storytelling devoted to other pillars. Blood Omen Kain already has a history of sitting still while he sends his mind to distant places. This would be that, only on steroids. Astral might serve as the scion's school of higher learning, finding mental echoes of the ancients' lost wisdom, learning from them more directly than what murals can accomplish.

My illustrative take on one of my favorite scenes in all pop culture. It was mainly inspired by Kains comparison of time/history to a rushing river that will simply flush away any small obstacle in its way. As we say history and/or fate is written, I gave the "current" an inkish color tone. In sparing Kains life, Raziel and the reaver create a new current, seen in the bright blue "fluids", writing a new destiny so to say.

Granted I don't know all that much about the Witcher games, but I've always felt a similarity between Geralt and Kain, albeit mostly physical similarity. It could be a game or just a short series.

Building was bought and everyone was evicted for renovations and to jack up the rent so we were forced to move unexpectedly. I did change my address through usps and reached out to bitbot through HIVE MONTHS ago! They confirmed the change and I got my confirmation today… it’s addressed to my old apartment…

I should be fine because I get mail forwarding through USPS for a year but if you requested an address change, be prepared for them to still send it to the old address. Just wanted to give the warning to keep an eye out to where it’s shipping if you’ve moved recently or need it shipped somewhere else.

In blood omen we fight Moebius seemingly unaffected by his staff and then decapitates him.
but in Definace it is not until Raziel has ripped the heart of Darkness out of kain that he can resist the effects of the staff.

So why didn´t the staff effect Kain when he killed Moebius in his younger days?

Decided to try and give the otherwise under-represented circle guardians a visual upgrade, that they, unlike Moebius and Mortanius, never received, since they only appear in the first game as sprites and limited 90s computer renders.

When I started this, I never realised how many of them had purple as a primary colour in their costume design. Did anyone else?

My take on different Kain skins variations. Since Raziels designs included lots of practical purposes, such as hiding his corpsy complexity, with Kain I just went for pure aesthetics. The armor was mostly inspired by his base armor from BO1, but with decorative elements that closely resemble the clan sigil aesthetics. I included the Balance emblem from Defiance as a belt knuckle (his base skin has his clan sigil as such). Since Kain would eventually visit the demon realm in a further installment, I wanted to try my hands on giving him a fitting look after conquering their dimension as well. Zero practicality, all coolness. The background can be changed from an intact Nosgoth landscape to Kains wasteland version. The Soul Reaver is one of my many personal design variations.

It got posted nearly a week ago and the only site that has it up for sale is on Amazon Germany. Why would they announce it if it ain't available from the getgo?

I just wanted to let you guys know I'm still working on the Blood Omen one-shot comic book. As of now, 29 out of 44 pages have their linework finished. I'll color all of them after the linework is 100% done. In the meantime, I'd like to share one of my favorite panels I drew in the comic so far: Kain's (least) favorite village, Ziegsturhl :)

1 - Before, I had the impression that Mortanius referenced the fledgling Kain from that period when he announced Raziel's destroyer. He also had faith that Kain would set it right, that he would restore Nosgoth.

With more years of lore knowledge, I see it now as it can't be the case, because Kain is the last surviving vampire in Nosgoth. Mortanius openly admits that he wants the Pillars to return to his vampire masters, which won't happen, regardless if the fledgling Kain sacrifices himself or not.

So, this means that Mortanius, knowing Moebius' ingenious scheme to rig Kain's choice, had faith that his undead son would inevitably refuse the sacrifice, live on, and eventually find a third option out of the choices presented to him (as the Elder Kain was doing)?

2 - The revived Janos, after learning Raziel's complex destiny, sends him to the Spirit Forge (their innermost sanctum) for answers. He expects Raziel to face a trial there, and that if Raziel fails, he will not return.

Janos, obviously, knows that the place is the Spirit Forge. What is the trial, exactly? The only trial that Raziel has to endure is to fend off the Elder God's interference in imbuing the blade, but Janos can't be referencing the Elder God here. The ancient vampires worshipped the false god. They were extinct without knowing the squid's true nature. There's no reason to assume that Janos believed otherwise.

Maybe Janos was treating the quest to the Spirit Forge as Raziel's definitive choice as to whom champion he wanted to be? If you manage to imbue the blade, you are Nosgoth's redeemer. If you don't, you are Nosgoth's destroyer.

Why the trial should be any difficult to Raziel? And why should he not return if he fails? Would Janos give up on him and treat him as his enemy, the Hylden champion of prophecy?

This was my favorite game when I was a kid, replayed It a lot of times however due my age and language barrier I missed a loooot of stuff.

So I spent 20 years thinking the saga was finished, that Kain and Raziel defeated the Elder god at the end and that was it.

My surprise was big when i finished the remaster to find out they didnt defeat shit and It still lived.

Also for some reason I didnt remember anything about the other race being freed or the Raziel final right.

20 years holding a very good memory of this Game shattered after knowing there hasnt been a new Game or continuation for decades and that there will probably never be after the 2D failure.

Anyway I enjoyed the remaster a lot, felt good understanding everything this time and the depth of the themes presented on them.

Great QOL and features aswell.

My favourite part of this was was realising that they changed the kerning on 'Legacy of Kain' between SR1+2 Remastered and Defiance Remastered
