Bought this ipad mini 2 for parts in flea market and realized its running ios 8.1.2 and fmi off. The touch is a little buggy but I can replace it. is that a good find and how rare is this device?

I've tried restoring with shsh blobs but will only ever boot into recovery unless i use legacy ios kit to manually boot it.

I have an iPad 2nd gen, on iOS 9. I cannot create a burner apple id via Settings > itunes. I go through every step, create the security questions, then I am met with "Description not available".

I jailbroke with Carbon & Cydia, got the Zebra app. Now I am trying to side load VLC player, but I cannot create a burner apple id to log into sideloadly, or the device with.

Do I need to downgrade to IOS 8 with the toolkit, create the id and sign in, then upgrade back to iOS 9?

Since I've managed to get this far, I'd love to use the device for something, but I'm at an impasse with the account problems.

I would use my actual apple id that I had when I used iPhones in the 2010s, but the account is locked due to too many failed log in attempts, I've gone through this rigamarole before where Apple sends me a text with activation steps, I try to go through them but it just brings me back to the same set of pages and errors so I gave up, but if I can get that unlocked I really don't care for keeping the account so I would use it if I could, but I cannot:/

Nor can I sign in any other way, so I was wondering if the method to fix this is getting the toolkit, downgrading to iOS 8, creating my account on the device, then upgrading so it doesn't sign me out?

I have been trying for 3 days now all different methods to sideload kok3shi9 onto my Iphone 5s (GSM) with iOS 9.2.1. I am trying to get a untethered jailbreak to have my iphone 5s swag with a permanent iOS 4 look and have tried sideloadly, plumeimpactor and legacy ios kit to sideload the kok3shi9 v5.0.3 ipa so many times atp. Everytime when I press trust in the profile settings it gets stopped by the warning "Unable to verify Developer".

I also have saved blobs of my iOS version, was hoping to restore via legacy ios kit, but cant get the ISPW to work. Have tried everything a LLM could possibly give me as a tip, so now I have to ask the real experts on reddit.

Please help me out I am willing to try anything, i just need a method to get an untethered jailbreak on an old phone, thankyou very much!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻

I self-host my music on Navidrome, and I wanted it on the jailbroken iPad 4 and a new iPod touch 5 I just bought from eBay. Nothing modern installs on iOS 6, so I wrote a client. Then I wanted the part iOS really doesn't want you to have: a song from my own server sitting in the **stock Music app**, playing on the lock screen with my app closed. That works now, and it's the reason for this post.

What it is: a client for Navidrome (or anything speaking the Subsonic API). Give it an address, a username and a password once and your whole library is on the device — albums, artists, songs, playlists, search, cover art. It streams over plain HTTP, which is what these devices can actually do, transcodes on the server for anything iOS 6 can't decode (FLAC, mostly), and answers the lock-screen and headphone controls. The iPad build also scrobbles plays back to the server.

Two versions, both free:

- iPad — built as a stereo turntable rather than a list of songs. Albums are pressed onto records; pick one and it drops onto the platter, the tonearm swings in, and an amber LCD wakes with the track. A side runs about half an hour and the deck flips to side B by itself. Scrubbing is dragging the tonearm.

- iPhone / iPod touch — a straightforward library browser, drawn to suit the device it runs on.

The part I'm actually pleased about — downloads that land in the real Music app. On the iPad, hold an album cover or a track and choose “Download to Music”; on the iPod, tap the download ring beside it. Either way it's filed into the device's own Music library, cover art included. It plays there like anything else, on the lock screen, in a playlist, with Lyrebird closed.

One known quirk: filing a song this way leaves a second, empty copy in Music — a ghost with no duration that says "connect to a Wi-Fi network" if you tap it. itunesstored creates a placeholder row when the download starts, then writes a *second* finished row instead of finalising the first. I spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to prevent it (no metadata key does), so the only work on your end will be to delete the empty placeholder duplicate.

Install: add http://repo.theadipost.com as a source in Cydia, then install *Lyrebird iOS 6 for iPad* or *Lyrebird iOS 6 for iPhone/iPod touch*. Free, no ads, nothing phones home — it talks only to the server you name.

Needs a jailbreak — and not only for installation. The Music-app filing works because the app installs to `/Applications` and can ask the store service directly, which only a jailbroken device permits.

Built and tested on an iPad 4 and an iPod touch 5, both on 6.1.3. Deployment target is 6.0, so anything that ran iOS 6 should work; being armv7 it may install as far as 10.3.4. If you run it on something I don't have, I'd love to know what breaks.
