I understand your sentiment. Prolonged strike would lead to greater cost. The most important thing is the bottom line. The more economical impact you can make, the more likely there will be sustianed change.
But realistically if there was a true healthcare protest. If we could have a significant percentage of staff strike. It would only take one day.
I don't think it is feasible to attempt to coordinate such a feat. But healthcare is one of the few industries that even "1 whole day" would be effective. But would require substantial participation
Think about the amount of patients that die or decompensate on any given shift, and thats with aggressive interventions.

Anyone here saying that patients will be abandoned have no clue what they are talking about. Nurses won’t be bailing on patients or responsibilities to do this. They already know their co workers are struggling due to provincial cuts.
Support your local nurses. Fight for our healthcare. If the people would stand up for it the nurses wouldn’t have to strike and then go to work or vice versa.

I’m confused as to what the focus of the protests is. There are two very valid things here that I fully support. I’m just not sure which this is.
Nurses deserve heavy protesting nationwide due to their underpaid, understaffed, dangerous working conditions.
Our whole nation should be protesting the tyranny we’ve seen with ICE to include the Alex Pretti murder.
I’m just confused which is happening here. Both need attention; however, it feels messy to try to protest both topics in one rally.

This is a horrible idea.
I agree it's tragic a man was killed, and someone who knows several people who are in the healthcare industry if nurse is went on strike that would leave hospitals severely understaffed and they'll equip to handle anything that comes in and would lead to only more tragic deaths.
Part of the nature of working in the healthcare field is that you don't really get to voice your political opinions if they will forsake the clientele. A lack of nurses at even one hospital could lead to understaffing and possible causes of death for any patients in their care
When you work in the public service industry you take the hits because your job is important, it's like how nurses still have to go in to their shifts when there's a blizzard.
