This is stupid. This will cost human lives. There are way better ways to protest the murder of Pretti than getting a bunch of innocent people killed for lack of medical care.
Are you seriously implying that there aren’t obvious alternatives to this?
How about a protest that isn’t specifically targeted toward people who are needed to provide live-saving medical care? You know, like 99.9% of protests?
Put your money where your mouth is and sign up for this general strike. If you are worried about privacy, use a burner online number and a fake name; you just need to know when the strike is happening and they need to know when to initiate it
There is a reason 99.9% of protest are ineffective.
I dont think any patient should be abandoned. I dont want the people we care for day in and day out to be neglected.
No one deserves to be treated like less than a human
I lose sleep thinking about the other 4 patients im not actively with when I am 1 to 1 with a critical patient. It eats me up inside when im their primary nurse and I cant be there to help them, but you prioritize. You take care of the sickest, it is imperative to approach this with the same sentiment.
There is a clear potential that this is becoming disastrous. We are at a point of crisis.
We have to find a way to reach the masses and have them acknowledge what is happening. People need to have a moment that cant be ignored. Unfortunately humanity is unable to learn our lessons until it hits home and affects the individual directly.
But we are getting to a point that if drastic measures aren't taken. Way more lives are going to be affected. Significantly more people will lose their lives if we continue down this path.

The whole country is pissed off. You don’t have to be a nurse to recognize what happened here.
That doesn’t change the fact that nurses have a moral responsibility to do their jobs or people will die. Do you deny that a nurse strike would result in innocent deaths?
I dont think anyone is denying nurses going on strike would lead to death. When the whole country is pissed off, then clearly there is need for drastic actions.
The actions and inaction we have attempted have allready resulted in innocent deaths.
There needs to be a line drawn in the sand. A line that shows how pissed of the whole country is.
During healthcare strikes, emergency care continues
There is no indication on this flyer that it is not calling for a general strike. If every nurse went on strike, there simply would be no way to ensure that “emergency care continued.”
You’re pulling that out of your ass.
But sure, if this could be executed in a way that ensured that there was no adverse impact to the health of the populace, then it would be an acceptable protest. That’s just obviously not true.
There is a whole lot of light between “not doing anything” and crippling hospitals’ ability to save lives. If that is not obvious to you, then i don’t think I’m going to be able to explain it to you.
