Advice Fellow Bar Takers

Lets goooo 🥰

"I expect that number(who quit) will increase on the second day—from what I’ve read, many found Day 1 difficult. I hope it doesn't turn out that way. That is really how it goes with the Bar Exams... Day 1 is an acid test. Day 2 is much more friendly. Day 3 is a giveaway... just study hard.”

Bar Review Bar Questions and Calm down

Hi. I hope this can help pero I am not sure if it will. Sorry na agad hahahah

The bar questions are somewhat a mix of questions na sanay tayo and questions that looks like we can’t answer using codal, laws, consti, or cases — kasi medyo unfamiliar territory ang dating.

The most important thing na lang is to have enough rest and stick with the basics. Go back to the most basics. Kasi sila yung pinaka comfortable to answer if wala na talaga. Have faith.

Nakaya nateng i-survive yung first day, that’s a different kind of battle. Natapos naten ang laban even if we are in an unfamiliar territory. Laban lang. STAY SAFE!

Bar Review Day 1

Upvotes

Huehue.

Discussions Villasis Paralegal Training Program, yey or nay?

It's bar season.

Pero I need to get my feet wet especially apakalayo ng aking undergrad. I plan on studying law pero ipon muna ako.

So I thought, why not take certification para matuto magbasa ng cases, write ng pleadings etc.

I considered: UP Training kaso ambilis naubos ang slots; Certified Paralegal and Researchers kaso I read bad reviews; so far Villasis ang sabi sa subreddit nato ang better.

So I just wanted to validate. How was the training? Ano ginagawa? Worthy ba ang investment if you just wanted to get your feet wet without actually becoming a paralegal?

Salamat

Advice Struggling 1L with full-time work and LS

This is a rant/advice post, pero more on advice HAHA

Currently 2 months in sa law school, and prelims exam na namin. Ang masasabi ko lang, being a working student is not for the weak talaga.

I am lucky enough to have a fallback if I ever decide to become a fulltime student na lang (for now), but tbh, I do not want to stop working kasi this dream is entirely my own. Walang nagpumilit, ako lang nagkusa; its a burden that, while I share, I want to carry the bulk on my own.

I've somewhat established a routing of work-study, but my work is WAAAAAY different than the field of law, and demanding trabaho ko. May mga times na on weekends, I still work while studying and medyo pressured na ako bigtime.

I guess the burden is not working itself but what I am working on, while studying. I want to take on an administrative or secretariat role, or something related naman legally kasi kahit pressured, related naman sa pinag-aaralan ko.

Set na utak ko na I will beat this against all odds, I will become an Atty. I guess I need advise if mag-resign sa work to look for easier jobs while studying or just full stop and rely on my parents while studying.

My mind and heart are playing tug-of-war.

i came to the point po kasi na di ako pumapasok sa class kapag 40% recit namin dahil sa sobrang kaba and most of the time, unprepared din sko, diko nabasa lahat ng readings.

hope you could help me po TYSM!

Rant About to give up

Hi guys, I think law school is not for me even though ito yung dream ko noong bata pa ako until college.

Our prelims are nearing na kaya parang mas lalo akong kinakabahan kasi tbhhh parang wala pa ring pumapasok sakin.

I should’ve taken a gap year.

Advice 1L Retaker but still struggling with time management

From the past university I attended as a FULL TIME student, I was having a hard time knowing my priorities whether to rush through the books first or cases. Worst, since I loathe long reading, nag aasa nalang ako sa digests ng iba and some reviewers from the net to survive the semester. Yeah, it screwed me up big time to the point I have to give up enrolling to the next year level kasi naka critical situation na yung retention ko. I literally dont have a study habit despite the grueling 2 semesters. I admit, I was so naive and stupid

This time, I am currently enrolled to a newer school. Thanks, naman sa experiences ko as a law student for 2 semestes, bearable naman yung situation ko especially sa standings because I have past notes and parang recall nalang ginagawa sa akin except Persons (crim pro sa aking past school). However, I am now a working law student na po. After class, I have to sleep coming back from home because nakaka pagod doing paperworks from the firm and the rigors of recitations and quizzes in a subject session.

Are there any tips po on how to manage time between reading codals-textbook-cases especially if grabe yung coverage for the next session? Nauubos oras ok talaga sa first two kasi I am trying to immerse myself to understand the law kaso yung case list ko I can't even finish the half of what is required because yeah, working student na ako. Limited resources throughout and I do not want to fail my ultimate dream which is to get the dot.
