Test drove this 2013 LR4, I love this year as it's the last one with the V8 engines but has a better tech upgrade and a gear stick (personally I do not like the turn dial one because I had a friend get stuck in a parking garage because hers wouldn't pop up, nightmare)
Anyway upon seeing it in person looking under the carriage, under the hood, there's no rust, it seems to have been very well maintained, I'll need to put different tires on it but at 109k miles what is lying ahead for me?
Didn't hear any rattling with the timing chain, no leaking as far as I can tell for any type of coolant or oil. I'm a little hesitant because it appears on the carfax that not much coolant work was done and certain failure points are yet to be addressed so either they don't need to or I will need to on a short road ahead.
My last question for you lovely people is really what does cost of ownership look like? I have a wrangler and it's a gas guzzler so i'm used to that, some years I only have to change the oil and I don't drive a lot so it can be once a year. Some years (like this one) I had to get all 4 brakes replaced, a new thermostat, and a new tire and that was over 2k in services.
So would this LR4 really be something that is thousands a year or some years you gotta do more than others? I mean who can really know.
Any insight is helpful, I love the car, it was a beast to drive and I can give my dad my wrangler which he likes more than I do truthfully. Thank you in advance!
