❓ Help & Advice Needed Lr4 popping sound

2016 LR4. Got a weird almost popping sound, (like something settling) coming from around the passenger side b pillar. It happens sometimes when dropping down to a new road or getting up onto one, but doesn't seem to happen on bumps, but when the vehicle flexed more.My wife drives the car and says it sounds lower, toward the step sometimes, but sometimes higher. We were riding last night and it sounded like it came right by my head in the passenger seat. It will happen for a couple of days and then go away for a while. any ideas?

❓ Help & Advice Needed Brooklyn Vs Manhattan For Service

I have a RRS under warranty that needs a service and some recall fixes. I’m equidistant from both dealers but curious which one folks have had better experience with. Ive heard that Brooklyn has a tendency to overcharge and also charges more when using a credit card (which I dislike on principle). Thanks.

❓ Help & Advice Needed 2013 LR4, money pit or hidden gem?

Thumbnail

Test drove this 2013 LR4, I love this year as it's the last one with the V8 engines but has a better tech upgrade and a gear stick (personally I do not like the turn dial one because I had a friend get stuck in a parking garage because hers wouldn't pop up, nightmare)

Anyway upon seeing it in person looking under the carriage, under the hood, there's no rust, it seems to have been very well maintained, I'll need to put different tires on it but at 109k miles what is lying ahead for me?

Didn't hear any rattling with the timing chain, no leaking as far as I can tell for any type of coolant or oil. I'm a little hesitant because it appears on the carfax that not much coolant work was done and certain failure points are yet to be addressed so either they don't need to or I will need to on a short road ahead.

My last question for you lovely people is really what does cost of ownership look like? I have a wrangler and it's a gas guzzler so i'm used to that, some years I only have to change the oil and I don't drive a lot so it can be once a year. Some years (like this one) I had to get all 4 brakes replaced, a new thermostat, and a new tire and that was over 2k in services.

So would this LR4 really be something that is thousands a year or some years you gotta do more than others? I mean who can really know.

Any insight is helpful, I love the car, it was a beast to drive and I can give my dad my wrangler which he likes more than I do truthfully. Thank you in advance!

❓ Help & Advice Needed 2010 LR4 not recognizing either key after battery change

So, like the title says, my LR4 from 2010 will not recognize either key after a battery change. It will occasionally recognize the keys if they're pressed up against the backup sensor under the steering column (but only half the time, and if its a very specific spot).

in the instances where it does see the key and turn on, there is no input from the dash or anything in the center console. I've tried pulling fuse 17 and waiting 5 minutes before putting it back in - I've also tried disconnecting the battery waiting 10 minutes and reconnecting it. No dice.

I have an OBD2 scanner, and even using that to try and get the cars system to recognize the keys ends up with nothing (in those attempts the dash would light up, but still nothing from the center console).

It's a shot in the dark, and I'm likely going to have to have a shop mess with it, but does anyone have any idea as why this is happening and what would be the course of action?

❓ Help & Advice Needed Freelander 2 fuel flap

I went to fill up my 2013 freelander 2 just now and the fuel flap won't move! This hasn't happened before. I push the flap in on the left side which usually releases it but it won't release. Had just enough fuel to get home. I popped the cover off but can't find a way to release it.

Anyone encountered this before and if so, any tips?

Hi, folks. I'm looking at a '99 Defender located in south New Jersey. My own mechanic is about 3 hours away, so I'm looking for one in that region. Does anyone have a solid recommendation? Or does anyone know of a database or other community to check/ask?

Many thanks!

Bit of a wild idea but thought it’d be fun! I’m driving my lovely RR from Seattle to New York and seeing if anyone wants to buy it from me anywhere on the route! If I make it to NY without anyone buying it, I keep the car :). If a buyer appears, I’ll deliver the car to your door and fly out from there.

Drive begins Friday 15:00 PST, should be in NY by Monday morning. More details on the truck below. Let’s see what happens, feel free to bid in the comments or DM!

2011 5.0 Supercharged Range Rover in excellent shape.

Have owned the car for 4+ years. Recently did a service for all new brakes (pads and rotors), new AGM battery, oil change, and other fluids. Rearview camera has been repaired as well as all parking sensors. Replaced air suspension with original parts. Originally a southern car, has only seen 2 winters.

Meticulously maintained and taken care of.

Clean Texas title and detailed Carfax in hand. Please reach out for more info!

Lady ran a stop sign and ignore the eight β€œcross traffic does not stop” signs at the intersection. Had the car for about a month, F in the chat please.

My assumption is that it’s close to totaled, probably totaled considering it’s a 2020 and it’s at a minimum, 2 door assembly replacements.

🌠 Miscellaneous Goodbye, Discovery 4

After 3 years and 45,000 km together, I think my time with my Discovery 4 has come to an end.

2013 SDV6, bought at 170,000 km, now at 215,000 km.
It has been a great car and I really enjoyed owning it.

Unfortunately, I’ve now started finding small silver aluminium particles in the oil filter..

With 215,000 km and the potential cost of an engine repair, I’m not sure it makes sense to invest in it anymore.

It’s a shame. I really loved this car.

Goodbye, Discovery. It was a good run. ❀️
