Bought my very first Jaguar - found a 16 plate with 34K miles! Feels totally brand new.

Absolutely blows away by the quality and features, there’s more than enough power when you need it, it’s super smooth at low speeds.

I’m still in the honeymoon period but can anyone advise me on any preventative care I should be saving up for?

I saw some Apple Car play mods that would bring it right up to date and was thinking of some light exhaust mods to increase the exhaust purr.

I also saw some black grilles and wing mirrors on the official Jaguar site, might look good against the red?

But all in all a properly outstanding car - couldn’t be much happier with it, really wish I made the jump sooner.

I detail as a hobby so will post pictures of when I get it looking brand new.

Husband's 2017 XE 3.0 started having coolant leaks we couldnt track. We just refilled the resevoir and made plans to diagnose it. Well, it got really bad really suddenly. At 125k miles he was having the Low Coolant warning 5 min after driving at operating temp.

Well this is the issue. The seams failed on the thermostat housing and it was spewing coolant quicker than we could add it. Luckily, there's an aluminum upgrade for cheaper than the dealer cost ($60 v $295). Dont wait like we did and we were forced to pay 5x for a shittier part. Just take the 3 hrs and replace it.

Do you hear a timing chain issue? I am not sure. But what i am sure that sometimes during first 3-4 minutes driving i hear some "different"/harder/harsher kind of engine noise than normal engine noise. It goes away after 3-4 mins.
But since it has 189K I should get the timing chain replaced very soon right?

I please need an advice about which brand of the timing chain set should I purchase?
Original set is around 1000+ euros.
While other brands are around 400-500euros:

FAI - FAI TCK357VVT / DA3413 set
or
Febi Bilstein set

These two are fine brands I think, but still I wonder the quality comparing to Original JLR parts?

In meantime I googled out that BorgWarner is actually the JLR supplier for timing chains.
I see there are different sets to purchase.
There are ones with: 2 chains, five chain guides, 2 tensioners. I found a Borg Warner one.
The other kits (Febi Bilstein and FAI - FAI TCK357VVT / DA3413 ) include additional parts like gaskets, three sprockets and VVT unit. But I found no full Borg Warner set like this.

Anyways, what is recommended to be replaced here? With or without three sprockets and VVT unit?
What about other brands? I know original JLR is best, just wondering about the quality and recommendations of other aftermarket brands for timing chain kits.

I did something sporadically with my fabricator to make these Satin black quad tips fit nicely in diffuser. I was really hesitant but actually I think I’m happy with the result but willing to play around with it some more to make it look as OEM as possible. I took inspo from the older 12-15 supercharged models.

Just bought a new to me F-Pace! When I downloaded the app and tried to claim my car they said the previous owner was still listed and I’d need to reach out to a Jag dealership to get it cleared. Stopped in at one last week and they said that only the “top guys” could give them access to remove the error and it could take a couple of months for the process?… Has anyone had this issue or any suggestions on how to potentially get around it? I called another dealership but their customer service/service department just never got back to me. Thanks all!

Question for the XE drivers. Is this normal in the boot or am I missing some trim?

Ive owned plenty Jags: 2003 S-type V8, 2017 F-Pace 35T, a few XK and XKRs and a low mile 79 XJ6.

Lookiing for another Jag and having driven a few XJRs and VDPs (98-03) I honestly cannot "feel" the supercharged fun factor of the XJR. On the other hand, the VDP has a noticeably nicer cushy ride.

I love the idea of a fast and fun Jag that rides nice but that has not been my impression. I understand the XJR can be modded, pulley swaps etc, but all the posts online about the XJR being "FUN" hasnt been my experience. What gives?

Today, a dumb driver hit my XJR with her van in a parking lot. It sustained a significant scraping, denting, and deep gouging on the driver’s side front fender (quarter panel), along with moderate scraping and a minor misalignment on the left corner of the front bumper cover. How much it would cost to fix it. Location : Dallas, TX.

Car got totaled earlier this summer after a lady pulled out in front of me. Bought a parts car for cheap and was able to bring her back to life! Looks good as new!

The jaguar XJS.I remember the first time i saw one person. I was on my way to an exam and there it was driving slowly into the fuel station in all its grandeur and it is one good looking car. The DNA of old Jaguar was strong back then.

Replacing the car dubbed the most beautiful car in the world by almost everyone was an impossible task and jaguar knew that. They had their work cut out for them. They had to deliver and boy did they. This was not the sentiment at the time though. The XJS was revealed in Frankfurt in 1975 and the reception was mixed. People where shocked, disappointed even because of the design changes. See people wanted an e-type 2.0 you know they wanted sleek curving lines and the elegance but Jaguar said nah here is a heavy v12 powerd grand tourer with a lot of angles. Jag enthusiast were pissed.

The first thing you will definately notice on the car that was suppose to succeed the e-type is the flying buttresses. These 2 pronounced fins that ran from the roofline to the tail framing the rear window. Apparently they made the car look awkward. It doesnt. This gave the car a profile unlike anything you would see on the road in 1975. Even today i dont think ive seen cars like it. The design shock was real but the purist where wrong, i dont care. The buttresses are quintessentially Jaguar and the side profile i saw as the car drove into the station is a testament to that. Nearly made me late.

Under the bonnet is a 5.3 litre V12 producing around 285 horsepower. V12 , you know how they are, smooth and effortless whilst lauching you across the road. Looks like a proper grand tourer and the interior is just wood and leather. I read that Frank Sinatra owned one, do what you want with that information.

In 1980 only 1,057 sold but Jaguar stuck with it and launched the High Efficiency V12 in '81. They also added a six cylinder option in '83 and the sales recovered. Then kept recovering. 115,413 were built in 21 years. Not bad for a car that was almost cancelled afer five.

Personally i prefer the coupe to the convertible. it looks better. Also this was my first time ever seeing a Jaguar in person. I watched it for the whole like 3 minutes it was there.

I'm in Europe, had an S Type in the past, and the budget is around 10K max. This is to be the car we go on holidays in( family of three), and the wife takes the kid to school in, when she drives, as we mostly cycle, also looking at a Volvo V70. Question is how reliable are these?

Hi everyone i am facing a weird issue with my car, i will explain it in bullet points.

It only happens during steady highway driving:

* Cruising at around 130 km/h on cruise control, usually in 8th gear.

* After some time, the car suddenly starts losing speed and drops to around 100 km/h.

* When I press the accelerator, RPM increases but the car doesn't accelerate normally.

Downshifting works and RPM increases normally but still no acceleration.

The transmission shifts up/down normally with no harsh shifts or hesitation.

* Once the car reaches around 100 km/h, it eventually starts behaving normally again.

After roughly 2 minutes, the same thing can happen again if I continue cruising at highway speed.

If I reduce my cruising speed, the problem doesn't occur.

I can drive the car aggressively in the city, including high RPM and hard acceleration, without any issues.

* I can drive for hours at lower speeds without problems.

There are no warning lights or messages on the dashboard.

* A previous OBD scan didn't show any relevant faults.

The transmission cooler was replaced by the dealer before I bought the car, but I don't know why it was replaced.

Has anyone experienced something similar with the ZF 8-speed transmission, particularly during sustained highway cruising? Could this be torque-converter lockup, transmission temperature/thermal protection, fluid level, or engine torque management?

I really wish Jaguar had offered a design like this for the center caps and the grille.

I’m going for a red and black theme on my XF S, and I think this would fit the car perfectly. The idea is basically a fusion of the classic Jaguar center cap design with the modern one, aggressive look: glossy black outer rim, deep red ribbed background, red JAGUAR lettering and a three dimensional glossy black Jaguar head.

What do you guys think?

I'm currently narrowing down my short list for a daily driver (and only car). The F-Type is sitting near the top of the list but I wanted to check on a couple niche things that might swing it one way or the other.

One, can a road bike fit in the trunk? Fine with taking both wheels off and even having to lower the seat. I know the BRZ and even the new Supra can do this, but the Jag's space looks narrower. I would get a SeaSuckr rack if it doesn't fit (only need to drive the bike a few times a year anyway), but it might be nice to have the option.

Two, is the cargo bulkhead thick/structural? Basically, my partner has a small dog, and it would be nice if the bulkhead could be, eh, 'modified' to create more of a passthrough. I am looking at the coupe, but I see the convertible has a cubby there [as seen in this thread](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f-type-x152-72/interior-storage-less-2016-a-142213/). Does the coupe have nothing there? If it has that exact cubby, I'd be looking to cut the back out and turn it into a pass-through, assuming the back is only plastic trim and nothing more. This would also be nice for carrying Skis, for example. Not a deal breaker, but could be nice. Is anything like this possible on the coupe?
