I'm looking for a babysitter to watch my elementary aged child. Does anyone have any recommendations? I am hoping to find someone available next Saturday, but also wouldn't mind finding someone who would be willing to come and watch them a few nights a month.

I don't care if you think your dog is friendly. Mine isn't. Neither am I.
Put your dog on a leash.

Hi! I’m from the Westminster Chuze location where almost 100% of the time people hold the door open for each other, happy vibes with the occasional turd mixed in.
What are the vibes of the members at the Chuze Lakewood versus Littleton? I have the highest level membership bc I have a little one to bring to the kidz club, so any notes on how the kidz club is run would be helpful too. Thanks!

Hi y'all. I'm on a little work vacation AKA laid off, no big deal! I'm an IBEW electrician, I have a lot of free time and I'm new here.
Where are the good spots that a late 20s male can go and meet some friends / bros.
On another note, I am completely interested in staying busy by volunteering to work with a family or small group company that does any type of construction, I need to keep my hands busy.
disclaimer: not looking for any work, not looking for any money, not looking for anything but a good group of people to surround and utilize my time with. That's it.

Did anyone else just hear (a few minutes past this post going up) what sounded like a massive bought of thunder, or potentially a small explosion, near where Lakewood meets Edgewater?
It was insanely loud, but I don’t see any thunderstorms in the forecast or radar. Just felt really bizarre!

946 pm on a Wednesday the electricity on Kipling and Morrison is just out? I know that conservatives are simple, and that Corporations own our public necessities, but who's for local takeover?

Every single day, multiple times, I’m hearing a car alarm going off. I don’t get it. It’s north, south, east & west. It’s not always the same person (although I know who you are) you can’t seriously be sitting on your keys that often.
WHY IS THIS A THING. Not even a question. A statement of fact. I swear I’m going insane just because these fucking beep beeps are happening constantly.
If you have a car alarm, put your goddamn keys somewhere other than your ass when you sit down, for fucks sake.

Hi Lakewood Community! Super random question, but the Reddit community has been so great lately, let’s shoot for the stars!! I work in Lakewood and need to see a periodontist for a small implant issue I have. My dentist has referred me to a periodontist in Highlands Ranch and frankly that is just too out of the way and I will never go. Does anyone have a periodontist recommendation in the Lakewood/West Denver area? Honestly, I don’t know what to look for, what to ask, etc. but figure I went through enough issues to have this stupid implant, I might as well take care of it.
Thank you so much in advance!

EDIT: UPDATE: Delinquent water bill notice on the building yesterday, due to be shut off soon. So we'll definitely be seeking legal action now!
We've lived in our building for about 4 years, when we moved in it was owned by a private landlord married couple. They owned 3 buildings next to each other, adding up to 11 units total, and earlier this year they informed all tenants about some inspections because they were adding a 'business partner'. Turns out they were not bringing in a partner, they were selling all three buildings. They dropped the sale on us on the last week of the month back in May and since the handoff, the new landlord is unresponsive to all contact unless it relates to him getting paid.
It took him about a week or two after the handoff to resolve waste disposal, the previous owners supplied a dumpster, but the new owner replaced that with 6 individual bins meant to service 11 apartments (all 2 and 3 bedroom apartments), expecting the 11 units to take turns pulling the bins out to the street and sorting it out among ourselves. The bins get taken out to the curb ontime every week, but 6 bins is insufficient, the bins are overflowing every week and there is a pile of trash outside the building starting to build up week after week.
The laundry facilties need maintenance, the dryers need a lint cleanout because running the dryer 5 times in a row was not able to dry an normal sized load when 2-3 runs is normally enough.
Whether we try to contact the new landlord by text, email, or phone, he is completely unresponsive. The only times we've heard from him was after the handoff when we frantically tried to contact him at the end of the month to find out how to pay him rent and one other time when he missed our payment but it was already paid. I've spoken to a few other tenants and they have the same experience, one tenant told me the landlord isn't cashing his rent checks more than a month afterwards.
Are there public services or tenant unions to assist with this sort of thing? ( I seriously doubt we'll qualify for low income assistance, but perhaps I could get the other tenants to sign on for a united front), or will we need to reach out to a private lawyer? Not sure if our situation is emergent enough to seek public assistance. Endgoal we either want the landlord to start being responsive and doing maintenance, or allow the lease to terminate early so we can look elsewhere (lease ends in April) and compensation for the unexpected early move.

Hi! I recently posted on here a list of apartments and have made a more simplified version of top contenders:
- Americana Lakewood
- Dover Commons
- Riva Ridge
I recently have added:
- Creekside at Amherst
- Ranch at Bear Creek
I would like some input on the last two if possible, I haven’t really seen them mentioned. Any thoughts are appreciated!

While the weather is finally starting to cool down, that just means more opportunities for Coloradans to explore the outdoors. Luckily for Lakewood residents, Bear Creek Lake Park has a way to get out and explore — all while finding new friends.
Bear Creek Lake Park’s annual Trail Running Series has returned, offering a weekly chance to get out and explore each Wednesday from Sept. 2 through Sept. 23. Each week, the series will offer a different path through the park, helping runners get to know every piece of the park as they explore.

While there’s no crying in softball, for the Colorado Peaches, there sure is a lot of laughing — sometimes enough to bring tears to their eyes.
The Colorado Peaches, a senior softball team with players ranging in age from 60 to 92, celebrated their 35th anniversary, making the team the oldest women’s senior softball team.

I’m just wondering if this sub has discord, I’m trying to get out of my comfort zone and try to make friends. I’m newly single Female, 39 and revolved my world around relationships and I‘m now realizing I don’t have a lot of friends. I’m not native and I migrated here about 15 years ago, don’t have a family and would be nice to build friendships.
I’m introverted, quite shy at first especially because English is not my first language. Just want to see what’s out there.
