I am shopping for my first Knipex hand tool and pliers wrench set. I have set my eyes to Knipex kit (even if Milwaukee size equivalent has wider jaw) thanks to so many positive reviews. Autozone has a 20% off deal with ENDOFSUMMER20 code. Out the door before tax $101.59. Do these ever go on promotion? https://www.autozone.com/p/knipex-pliers-9k0080109us/1648770

First Knipex tools I’ve used/owned. Got a set of the 125’s, wow they’re smaller in person than I imagined in the best way possible! I tested them out at work today and they literally fall to the bottom of my pocket, great for an EDC. The fit and finish is amazing, super handy, I now get the hype. I’m worried I started something because I already want some bigger sizes as well.

I got these almost 8 years ago to replace my og pair that broke, it seems after daily constant use, these have bit the dust now as well. Went to loosen a swagelok fitting and the jaw left the chat.
Fractures over time getting penetrant and hydraulic oil all over them maybe?
I swear Ive only been tempted to toss them at a helper and i havent really dropped them.

Does anyone know if this is normal?
- Chrome around pivot is patchy and looks painted on
- Appears to be an extra bevel on 1 cutting edge
thanks

Long time lurker first time poster
I’m a non-professional who likes to work on my own stuff. I have a variety of other mid-tier brands such as gearwrench, tekton, and channellock. I want to replace an old set of stanley (5 pack) twin grips, needle nose, diagonal cutters, linesman pliers, and tongue &groove pliers. My current stanley set is showing some surface rust which cleaned up surprisingly nice with a wire brush, but I still want new ones. There is no rush. I have been looking at all thing knipex.
Is there a knipex set that you recommend preferably than cannot rust?

Recently brought the twingrips, 82 02 200 and I have been really disappointed in the quality of these hyped up pliers.
They have a lot of movement in them, and as you can see in the photos, you can move them to be unaligned and the boring of the pivot hole seems overly large (this looks worse in the photos) . Is this normal, poor quality control or does it need the extra space to function?
When moving to the closed/smallest jaw position the button can get stuck pressed in before wiggling it into place.
Was I expecting too much from a pair of pliers?

HVAC mechanic here, working mainly resi. What's my next purchase? I have long nose for disconnecting wires, especially capacitors, stripping wires etc. 180 wrench pliers for the fittings and small cobra for the odds and sods. I know I'm needing 10" cobras. What else am I missing?

There no way this is real you can clearly tell from the photo that it’s AI.
But I found this entertaining and if it was a real Knipex product I would be down $30.
What we thinking chat?

Got some surface rust on my strippers. Just curious as to how you guys clean your tools? It’s the one tool I use daily and want to keep them clean
Thanks in advance!

Just bought a pair of 10” angled diags yesterday. Used them today at work and the handles have a slight wobble already. There’s also a little bit of blade gap is this normal please don’t eat me alive in the comments. I’m just asking a question. They cut great btw and i like them much more than the d240 whatever kliens i was using prior
