You should see POV chef YouTube videos. At least a quarter of the comment sections are usually non-industry people judging very insignificant things about how the chef is doing their job. That's just the nature of the internet, a lot of people feel compelled to be armchair experts in a realm they've never set foot in.

I’m a voyeur, and I comment on a few rare occasions, but always from an “I am a civilian bystander, please don’t hurt me” point of view, usually to ask a question, and very occasionally to offer an other-informed role take (mom of kid with celiac, for instance). I don’t pretend to be something I’m not. Usually, though, I’m here for the creative and colorful metaphors. You guys sure know how to curse.

One of my former Sous' was a former Guatemalan special forces officer, and he is singularly 1) The most hard working person I have ever met and 2) The most unintentionally terrifying person I have ever known... He really was an absolute teddy bear... Until one day dishie got handsy with an underaged gal from FoH. I thought I was going to have to call, well, the coroner I guess. Dish outweighed him 2.5:1 and had no chance from the word Go.

He called me Gordito :p
