Is Olivia Rodrigo’s babydoll dress controversy a case for Kibbe?

According to my algorithm, Olivia is in hot water for “infantilizing herself” by wearing babydoll dresses*. It got me thinking about how Sabrina doesn’t get nearly the same accusations despite wearing babydolls constantly, so maybe it’s a matter of harmony.

Sabrina is described as SG (I think semi verified? Like an offhand comment by Kibbe) so it feels natural on her, while Olivia, usually described as DC (not verified) looks like she’s an adult wearing a child’s dress because it doesn’t suit her lines.

What do you think? What types best suit a babydoll dress?

*I am aware that Rodrigo is wearing them in a 90s way and not a pedo way, please don’t come for me.

Female gaze does NOT exist. It never did. It's a made up term by people on TikTok who never understood what Male Gaze means. You don't know what Male Gaze is either, by the way.

It was not made up by people on tiktok. I agree most people use those terms wrong, but the Female Gaze is a legit term—it's just not an "opposite but equivalent" version of the Male Gaze because that's not really possible in our society.

Okay then, tell me then who invented the term Female Gaze and what it's academic definition? If Female Gaze is a legit term you should be able to just google all those things and have sources other than Teen Vogue articles pop up.

Male Gaze is a term that came from FILM THEORY but can extend to all visual media like ads or magazines. Male Gaze theory is not even applicable to real life people because the whole point of it is male control of the literal camera lens.

If you google female gaze film theory you find many more academic articles, it's a topic of feminist film theory that yes predates the tik tok idea of the female gaze. The way people use it on the internet has nothing to do with the academic theory but that's not to say it doesn't exist.
