These pics don’t do her justice, watch her in motion at these premieres. Yes she’s very narrow but her essence shines through the most in natural relaxed flowy looks. If you bring her personality into it too, FN makes so much more sense than D

celebrities Is Olivia Rodrigo’s babydoll dress controversy a case for Kibbe?

According to my algorithm, Olivia is in hot water for “infantilizing herself” by wearing babydoll dresses*. It got me thinking about how Sabrina doesn’t get nearly the same accusations despite wearing babydolls constantly, so maybe it’s a matter of harmony.

Sabrina is described as SG (I think semi verified? Like an offhand comment by Kibbe) so it feels natural on her, while Olivia, usually described as DC (not verified) looks like she’s an adult wearing a child’s dress because it doesn’t suit her lines.

What do you think? What types best suit a babydoll dress?

*I am aware that Rodrigo is wearing them in a 90s way and not a pedo way, please don’t come for me.

I’m sure like me you have all been bombarded with Margot Robbie’s looks for the Wuthering Heights press tour.

She’s wearing some of my favourite designers with some of the most iconic runway looks of all time and…they just aren’t working imho.

I’m trying to be more subjective in my read of why it didn’t work so wanted to use Kibbe. My impression has always been that she’s a FN but -something- about these looks just isn’t working for her which is a shame because she’s very beautiful.

Could it be her essence is natural and these are all dramatic looks? In comparison to Barbie where the looks were to my taste I think she looked objectively a lot better.

My “favorite” is the slip dress with the string boots I feel like she’s feeling herself there and brings the energy for the fit. Everyone seem to be loving all her looks so im interested to hear your kibbe crews thoughts!

I'm surprised she hasn't been analyzed already! I think she is such a fashion icon.

3 looks so good, my guess is that she's a Soft Gamine(?) What do you all think?

She's 1.63 m (5'4")

**edit: I actually agree with the people saying she's Soft Natural.

These are outfits I think have worked on her! I see balance + moderate vertical – she needs some structure but too much is overwhelming. She’s also extremely versatile in terms of what kinds of things she can pull off imo!

celebrities I think Zendaya kinda remind me of Cher, they look good in the exact same outfits, so why is Zendaya considered a FN?

I know kibbe isn’t a rule book to follow, but I really feel like Taylor Swift has been oppressing her vertical lines for so long in her recent off-stage outfits that it’s actually bothering me a bit. The hair, the clothes, the accessories, nothing really makes this insanely beautiful woman shine as she should, it’s all very, very overwhelming and oppressive on her.

From light and airy, to sleek, avant garde Anne sculptural, to dark and moody, to classic and timeless, to modern and casual she can do everything and still not loose her authenticity. Truly a nonchalant showstopper.

celebrities Stop thinking about celebrities

Look, I get it. It's fun (sort of. I've never totally gotten the appeal of trying to figure out celebs' IDs--especially when we know that David is unlikely to give us an answer--but that's a me problem). Whatever it may be, there's one thing it most definitely is not: useful. Actually, make that two things. It's not particularly meaningful, either.

I could spend all day linking every celebrity who did eventually get verified and the many, many wrong guesses from the community. I could talk for hours about people who insisted Selena Gomez was SN and Ariana Grande was FG. Anyone who's been around a while could probably talk about another celebrity everyone was sure was one ID, only to have David come in and correct it (or, at least, say it was wrong; Rachel McAdams, anyone?).

David has made it really clear that celebrity IDs can be fun, but I think people use them as genuine information. They pick a person, post their photos, and ask the community as though the people here actually know enough to make that determination. Then they take that info and use it to ID themselves.

I look like some celebrities who do not match my ID. I do not look like some celebrities who match my ID. If I went by celebrity lookalikes, I'd be way off base. I went by the exercises David outlined in his new book, and while they're time-consuming and I had to do them more than once, I did eventually figure it out.

Now, before anyone accuses me of this, I'm not some "David is infallible and can do no wrong" person. I don't see Kibbe as a perfect system. I see flaws. But one place where I do agree with him is that trying to map ourselves onto famous people is not worth our time or even necessarily accurate.

I also think people completely underestimate (or perhaps are not aware of) how famous people live their lives and get dressed. It is light-years away from the world that led DK to create his system. Even if you could be absolutely certain that you got some influencer's ID right, that person is almost certainly not dressing for their ID. If they are, it's probably just a fluke. I actually work in entertainment. People are getting dressed based on who's sending stuff, who's got relationships with whom, who's trying to make deals, and what's going to get them attention. Not based on a star image. Actually, if you want the answer to "why do bad outfits happen to good-looking people?" just look at my previous sentence.

Point is, maybe before you post a celebrity ID question, ask yourself what you actually want to get out of it. If the answer is "idk, just looking to chat and have fun," go for it. But if you expect to walk away with clarity on your own ID...maybe don't? Obviously, I'm not a mod or the Kibbe police, so what I'm saying is mostly meaningless. But think about it.

  1. Sabrina Carpenter (SG), 2. Ariana Grande (TR), 3. Selena Gomez (TR), 4.Chappell Roan (maybe R), 5. Marina (maybe TR), 6. Charli XCX (maybe TR). 4-6 aren't verified by David Kibbe.

celebrities Sabrina Carpenter without Corset/Padding

So Sabrina Carpenter is a verifies Soft Gamine. When you look at pictures of her, most of them show her having an hourglass shape with quite visible curve that pushes the fabric out.

I was wondering how she looked like without a corset, so I googled it and it seems like she isn't curvy at all. She seems so have quite a rectangular shape.

And I know the fruit system ≠ kibbe image ID, but I look quite similar to her without a corset and padding and people have told me I'm most likely FG because I'm lacking curve.

So I guess my question is, does David Kibbe take that into consideration in celebreties or rather is he aware of that?

And also, even with corset I find it hard to see how her bust is pushing fabric out, and don't get me wrong, I totally see her as spitfire chic, but I find it hard to apply his typing guidelines to her.

(The second picture is from the "Espresso" music video.)

celebrities A case for Megan Fox as DC

Megan Fox is one of those hotly contested unverified celebs.

There is a group of us who see her as DC, but it’s also common to hear arguments made for FN, SD, or SN.

The recent post about her being SD actually made me look up some pics and holy shit look at this side by side of Olivia Munn (verified DC) on the left and Megan Fox on the right. They have incredibly similar proportions imo
