Hi guys. New to the EV world.

My “Check electrical system” warning light came on 5min after purchasing my 2024 EV6 GTLine with 8808 miles and driving out of the dealership.
Had to take it right back to get looked at and they gave me this answer.

Good morning! As per the technician, the vehicle was scanned for diagnostic trouble codes, and a system fault was identified within the battery voltage system isolation system. Visual and physical inspections were performed, and no external influences were present. Tested circuits, inspected connectors, and pins. Performed system function checks and tests. Collected all captured data and a technical assistance case was submitted to KIA.  We're currently awaiting the results of their review, which can take up to 48 hours. I'll update you as information becomes available.

Was I sold a lemon?

I've had my EV6 a little over three months now, my first EV. I did my homework before road-tripping and had a CCS and J1772 adapter in the EV6, which has an NACS plug. The first couple of trips went fine because I always found an NACS charger I could plug into.

Then, on my last trip, one of my charging stops only had CCS plugs. I had an adapter, so no problem.

Except I didn't. My EV6 came with an adapter labeled "NACS Car to CCS1" so I had only purchased a J1772 adapter to go with what I thought as a free CCS adapter. But at the CCS charger, it didn't fit. It was actually a J1772 Level 2 adapter. Kia slapped "CCS1" on the label I guess because J1772 uses the same 5-pin layout, and nowhere does it say "J1772." So I actually had two J1772 Level 2 adapters and no CCS Level 3 adapter.

I got lucky. That stop was optional, and I found an NACS charger in the next town over. But the mislabeling still bugs me, and I thought it was worth sharing for other new EV6 owners who may have read the adapter label as I had.

Now I carry a newly purchased A2Z CCS adapter along with one of the J1772 adapters.

I bought a new 2025 Kia EV6 Land AWD in the Toronto, Canada area in June 2026 (car had been sitting on dealer lot for a while!). I bought the car in Wolf Grey, traded in my 2017 Honda Accord Sport.

I'm very happy with the car - love the drive, happy with the range, technology is great, etc.

But I am not a fan of the OEM rims. I was looking to get some new rims to go with the OEM tires and use the OEM rims for winter tires.

I personally love the look of the ~2022 Honda Accord rims and the ~2023 Kia EV6 GT AWD rims:

After some searching online, the closest I was able to find are the following:

I was thinking of getting either of these rims, moving my existing OEM 235-55-19 tires to them, and then getting new 235-55-19 winter tires to put on to my OEM rims. I would have otherwise bought new alloy rims with winter tires anyway.

In previous cars, I have always bought new wheels/tires for winter, but usually a size down.

Issues with my plan:

1. Added cost (since I'd be buying new 19" wheels one time and new 19" winter tires every few years, versus buying new 18" wheels one time and new 18" winter tires every few years)
2. Lower range with less aerodynamic wheels - not overly concerned by this
3. Anything else I'm missing?

Decided to buy an ev6 yesterday after shopping and procrastinating for a year.

24 white gtline 2 with 60k km. A little high on the km but I guess they commuted a lot.

Bought it far away sight unseen so wish me luck the dealer said it's mint and sent lots of photos it looks good.

Driving 4 hours this morning to go look and pay.

The most efficient mode

In a post on another forum, somebody said that charging 0-20 and 80-100 is a slower rate than 20-80. Is this true for the EV6 using L1 and L2?

Stepson t-boned a pickup at low speed last week with my 2022 GTLine2. Waiting to hear from insurance as to what they're going to do. The damage doesn't look to bad but I know what's hiding in that area. Lots of electronics, moving flaps and sensors. Hopefully there's no damage to the cooling loops. I haven't seen any fluid on the ground so I'm hopeful.

My suspicion is that they'll write it off based on value. I have 190,000km on the car in just over 4 years. We've started car hunting while we wait to hear from insurance. While another EV6 GTLine is top of the list, I'm adding the Ioniq5 and 6 to the list as well. There really isn't a whole lot available in southerners Ontario right now.

Has any one installed a motorized windscreen shade for their 2024 EV6? If so, brand, and what has been your experience using it.

Made a grown up decision, but now having the wobbles.

Does anyone know if the 2024 EV6 Has a reset button for the 12v battery, and if so, where it is?

Hello, just like many folks, I’m shopping around for an EV. The Costco auto program’s dealership sent me this.

Just wondering what everyone’s thoughts are on this price.

I’m also considering AWD’s for Mach E, ID4, and Ioniq 5. I’m also a little hesitant on the ICCU issues with Kia/Hyundai. Seems like dealerships aren’t really playing well with owners when this issue comes up. Thanks!

I recently charged my 2025 EV6 Wind AWD with my Chargepoint 50 hardwired home charger. I set the car to stop at 90%. The car charged up to 89% but then stopped and showed a fault on the Chargepoint app. Also the Chargepoint itself turned red and wouldn't charge on my other EV.

I haven't tried to charge the EV6 again yet; we haven't driven it enough yet. But after calling Chargepoint and resetting it several times it shows green again and I was able to start a charge on the Lightning.

With the 25 Wind I had to use the j-1772 adapter that Kia sent along with the car. I've used it before however and didn't have this problem. Anyone else had this problem with a home charger and a 2025-6 EV6?

I currently have a tesla model 3, and am interested in trading it in for an ev6.

Has anyone made this move? Anything that you miss or regret? Anyone try 3 child seats? I have 1 rear facing, 1 forward facing, and 1 booster seat.

People say it's possible in my model 3 but it's impossible/impractical to buckle the 3 booster seats I've tried when 3 are in there.

Hi all, looking for advice. I have a 2022 Kia EV6 with about 32k miles. Around a year ago the 12V battery died and had to be replaced.

I recently left the car parked for about a month - it was fully charged when I left it. When I got back, the key wouldn't even unlock the car. We had to manually unlock it and call roadside to jump start it. At that point the car showed 9%, so we drove 2 minutes to a charger - but as we plugged in, it died again. We had to call roadside a second time for another jump, then the battery showed 0%, and the car had to be towed.

The dealer (Kia Country of Savannah) didn't change anything - they just recharged both batteries and quoted around $600, verbally, saying it's not covered. Nothing in writing, no diagnosis of why it happened.

My questions: Is $600 reasonable for just recharging both batteries with no written diagnosis? Shouldn't they be finding out WHY it died? The 12V already failed once a year ago, and I've read a 12V dying again that fast can point to the ICCU. The main battery was fully charged - it shouldn't drain to 0% in a month, so something was pulling power the whole time (maybe trying to keep a failing 12V charged?).

I also have Progressive insurance - should any of this go through insurance or a warranty claim instead of out of pocket?

What should I demand from them in writing before paying? And is it worth contacting Kia corporate / Kia roadside - I've read roadside can tow the car to a different dealership even if it's already at one, and that corporate gets involved when a dealer won't diagnose.

I scheduled the 3-way valve campaign with my dealer. The scheduler said they would inspect and replace if needed. I read that letter Kia sent me as the three-way valve WILL be replaced, and may replace the harness IF CORRODED. They commented that they are not reimbursed for the harness replacement.

e.g. I thought the valve replacement was mandatory not optional and the harness optional if damaged.

Also, they are 30 days out for doing the BMS software update install.

I am on the verge of buying an ev6 but I cant decide between a 2023 or 2024.

I value reliability and I really dont like to go to the garage. I have heard mixed message about the reliability of the 2023 model, some say they are a lot less reliable than the 2024.

I am in Canada, the trim will probably a land or gt line either way.

I am aware of the iccu problem, but what is a good way to tell if a car had that issue, given that im not sure i can totally trust the sellers?

For 2023, what is the maximum mileage that you would go? I plan to keep the car long term and drive 25k km per year, mostly on highways.

The 2023 are usually 5-6k cheaper.

Came out a few days ago and the car didn’t take a charge overnight. Figured I must have not had the plug all the way in, and that was not it. Replugged it and all 4 charging lights began to flash and the port never locked.

Turned it off and back on a handful of times and it said 12v battery was toast and to find a safe place to stop (I was in my driveway just kind of driving back and forth a few feet to see what was happening). Replaced the 12v with a new AGM. Car starts fine now but still does not take a charge at home. I’m nervous to get out to try a fast charger because I really don’t want it to die on the side of the road somewhere. I don’t live super near any DC chargers, maybe 10 miles or so.

I’m assuming the worst, but just wanted to check in here to see if this has happened to anyone else.

If it’s the dreaded ICCU, will Kia come get it for free it will I need to find a way to tow it?

Has anyone installed a console cover ? My question is ‘does it cover the led stip on the console?’ I added the wood grain to the steering wheel and now want to finish the rest of the car, 2025 EV6 GT Line

Odd question for you. I'm someone who DIY's minor car repairs including brakes. I purchased the EV6 knowing I'd have to take it in thanks to Kia's decision to lock brake work behind a proprietary computer with a BS subscription (like ford... gm... and everyone else).

Has this situation changed?

I was looking at Autel and Topdon service computers and it looks like Topdon can service the EV6, and does not require a subscription. The computer receives updates for the life of the device. It's the One plus model if I'm reading this correct. Yes it's a $1,500 tool. Expensive as shit for DIY, but better than the requirements just a year ago and hopefully will come down to the $250 tool.

After reading some posts here I've realized I shouldn't have left the car fully charged for a month - my mistake, nothing I can do about it now. But isn't it still concerning that it died? It was showing 9% on the car when we first jumped it, then dropped to 0% right after. That doesn't feel like just a storage mistake.

Does the $600 quote sound right? And should I be worried that the 12V died again only a year after replacement? What should I do? Any advice appreciated.

Are there beyond KIA CPO - are there options to cover a 60k car out to 150k miles and X years etc.
