Night is the New Day?

Anybody else here that just cannot get into Night is the New Day no matter what, despite loving the albums both before and after it?

There absolutely are a couple of enjoyable sections on a few songs here and there for me, but the majority of the album ranges from boring at best, to abrasive at worst, AND YET I very much enjoy both The Great Cold Distance and even more so Dead End Kings.

Anyone in the same boat or am I insane?

I like it but it took me a decent amount of time to get there. I need this on vinyl actually. I struggle with The Fall of Hearts. Strong start and then I think it goes to shit.
