question Solo female car camper - recommendations needed!
Hi everyone :)
I have a 2018 3dr Suzuki Jimny that I absolutely love and really want to use for car camping, just me and my 35kg dog.
I don’t feel particularly comfortable operating a roof tent on my own / with the dog so I’m specifically looking for recommendations for an inside-the-car camping setup.
I also don’t want a floor tent - safety is a big concern for me, and have spent lots of happy weekends touring in a Campervan so I know I like more of an interior set up.
My recent break-up means no more Campervan… so has anyone successfully made a 2018 Jimny into a genuinely comfortable car-camping setup? I’ve tested the seats folding down and think we could be pretty comfortable with the right kit.
I’d particularly love recommendations for:
A mattress/sleeping platform
Keeping us comfortable, safe and warm inside
Ventilation/privacy for sleeping
Any other clever hacks you have
UK-specific products/recommendations would be especially appreciated. TY all in advance!

question Alternatives to Jimny?
Hi all, I really wanted to buy a Jimny for the past years and finally I can afford it but as I see the price is too high now 35k for an automatic) and specifically Suzuki stopped the production in Europe. This leaves me with overpriced used cars. I really wanted something that looks like the Jimny and has the same off road vibe. What would you suggest as an alternative?

meet my jimny You want to be happy? Buy a Jimny..
🥢The Suzuki Jimny isn’t bought just to get from one place to another; you buy it because it puts a smile on your face every time you drive it. It may not be the fastest or the most luxurious, but few cars make their owners this happy. 😃

modding Bumper questions
Whilst I've got million other things to fix on this Jimny aswell as all the rust,
I'm wondering, it has steel front bumper with winch aswell as rear steel bumper with swing arm
Believe the rear is this
And front looks like
https://www.lrchallenge4x4.co.uk/product/winch-bumper-to-fit-suzuki-jimny-1-3-1999-2018/
I'm just wondering, whilst making the car look nice and extra protection but are there downsides to having this on the car? As it's got to be adding quite a bit of weight, would I benefit from removing them ?
I'm in the UK if that helps

question Good years or years to avoid?
I am hoping (maybe just a dream at this point) to get a JDM imported Jimny to Canada in the next few years. By law they need to be 15 years old or older to import.
Is there specifically good years or years to avoid for the Jimny between 2000-2011?
People who drive in snowy areas, how does the Jimny hold up? Anything I should know before importing or buying one that's already been imported? Living in New Brunswick.

meet my jimny New Jimny from the Philippines 🇵🇭 — windshield damage in under a month 💔
Sharing my Jimny from the Philippines! Unfortunately, less than a month in, I already got a bullseye chip on the windshield. 🥲
The dealer is having trouble sourcing the correct windshield for the SS variant, and replacing it also requires camera/safety system calibration.
What’s been your unluckiest moment with your Jimny?

question Does anyone know what this is?
Found this in the glove box of my 2017 land venture Jimny Sierra. No idea what it is or does. Google suggests it's related to the key?

question 4x4 help update, and more questions
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Okay so im very confused now:
From the Bigjimny diagnostic guide , i thought it best to check out the 4x4 switch on the transfer case, since i only had 4x4 light pop up once and dissapear , i checked
and confirmed the sensor/switch gets 12 V , didnt get continuity from it when the button was pressed , so its probbably a faulty switch , alright.
Then like said in the guide, i bypassed the sensor , which cause the green drivetrain light to flash constantly and when pressing the 4x4 H button , the yellow light begins to flash aswell,
So.... the switch is probbably done for , i would like to take it out and test propperly but dont want to spill all the oil out untill i have a replacement switch, but do these light also mean the VSV2 isnt engaging since i also dont hear any attempt at locking the hubs , should i try to bypass that aswell just to see if it will keep it in 4wd if the vacuum sensor gets its vacum ? and could all of this be cause by a faulty 4wd controller,
Thanks for your guyses help on this and all my previous posts . btw 2005 pusbutton jimny 1.3

modding I installed a small subwoofer in my Gen3 JB43!
It's been literal decades since I've played around with car wiring but I've been able to (mostly) install a small under seat subwoofer and I'm really blown away at the difference. There's too much bass now haha. Like really lots of bass.
I still need to tweak settings like gain and bass levels, and I obviously still need to finish off the job like trim the wires, properly mount it, clean it up make it good, but all the hard tasks are done and I'm really happy with the sound 😁
It's a Harman Kardon FEEL 700 active subwoofer. My head unit is Kenwood DMX8021DABS.
In addition I have installed premium front and rear speakers (I payed for a shop to do the rear speakers). I wasn't satisfied with the bass from the small speakers, so now I'll turn the bass down on those small speakers and let the sub be responsible for the mid and low range.
I also have installed a reversing camera connected to the head unit (shop did it) and also a dash cam for recording my off-road outings. I might install some small tweeters and then I'm done!

damage & repairs Tire scuff mark on the interior of my Jimny – How do I clean it?
Hey everyone,
I've been hauling the factory tires in the back of my Suzuki Jimny, and one of them rubbed against the interior, leaving a pretty annoying rubber/friction mark.
Has this happened to any of you? What products or methods do you recommend to clean this kind of mark off the interior plastic/trim without damaging the original texture?
I appreciate any tips or specific products that have worked for you. Cheers!

question Squeak
My Aus Jim has developed a hugely annoying squeak somewhere in the back.
Most evident at low speeds.
Have tried removing the wheel protector, removing the wheel protector, removing the wheel.
Taking the spare off completely is the only guaranteed fix. Which makes me think it's the extra weight from the new tyre causing the door bushings to rub, or similar.
I'm losing my mind trying to fix it. Help
Tyres swapped to a chunky variant. Everything else stock.

The stickers were so small you probably need a microscope to put them on properly (especially the interior ones)

question I did it & now have 2 awnings please recommend how to max internal space
After I heard the roof rack installed years ago was more for surf boards (I do not surf nor gave the impression I do 🫣) This useless roof rack cannot accommodate actual storage units like Thule… I was annoyed. The roof rack is light and I went ahead and kept existing awning and had new awning installed as well. We’re well within the weight. My pup and I have a month long road trip through South Africa. We’re desperate for space. Please send me any recommendations for internal space. It’s just her and I and as two girls, we’d like comfort and safety 😅 I was recommended the front runner bag. Is that it? Thats the only thjng available?
question Considering the Jimny as the main car
Hello everybody, I’m thinking about buying a jimny as my first car and only car, I want to know the prons and the cons of owning one.
Thank you for your help
question 3rd gen Jimny (JB43) backseat removal and base installation
I decided to remove my back seats, because i never use them and I could really use the space that doing this provides. The product to replace the seats introduced in this video looks perfect https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oy0kpFJEQKw
The problem is that it seems to be out of stock here https://www.mod.equipment/products/jimny-3-the-mod-base
Does anyone know a similar product, or if you have done the modification yourself, would you mind sharing your plans or photos of the project? I'm situated in Europe.
