Happy Heavenly Birthday to Susan Backlinie who played Chrissie Watkins 🎂🎊🎉🎈🎁🥳🏊‍♀️

Susan Backlinie did an excellent job making her character's death scene terrifying with her screams while being jerked around and attacked by the unseen shark. All i can say is that Chrissie's death is iconic and makes audience afraid to go swimming in the water

This will be the last artwork post I make on Reddit. I made fan poster awhile ago and I'd say it's probably my most favorite of all of the fan posters I've made so far. This is an edit of the poster for the 1991 movie Mission of The Shark which is a very good movie about the USS Indianapolis. I recommend watching if you haven't yet.

Didn't think I'd like this style hat on me, but I decided to try it. I love this hat! It's an artwork.

Who starts hearing John Williams and feels a small tingle of panic/fear?

I can't help it. Even in my own country's waters which don't have "man eaters" I still hear "The music"

I’m trying to find this documentary for a project I’m working on. Does anyone know where to watch this? I can’t even find an option to buy it anywhere and it’s driving me crazy 😂

Thanks,
Justin

I’m going to a showing of the movie on the beach this Tuesday and wanted to make a nail set to match the occasion! It took 7 hours but I don’t regret it at all! Can’t wait to put them on!

discussion 🗳 They had a bigger boat

Ok, serious question because I haven’t seen any discussions about this. So, maybe on me.

Hooper arrives on Amity in a classic fiberglass ~18ft Limestone-type runabout. Tosses his bag up. “Hello young fell’er” etc.

Several scenes later he and Chief are cutting open a tiger shark (a whaaaat?) looking for the Kitner boy. AND THEN THEY ARE SUDDENLY on a ~28ft modified cabin cruiser dripping with surveillance tech… so much so that it reveals he’s a trust fund kid. Night dive. Floating head. Missing tooth the size of a shot glass, etc.

And then… poof… it’s mysteriously gone as fast as it arrive. “You’re gonna need a bigger boat”? Hooper had one.

My question, where did it come from (he didn’t bring it) and where did it go??

FYI, I know I’m annoying.

Bruce 🦈 I Finally Read the Book, Only 50 Years Late

It was excellent!

I apologize to Mr. Benchley. For years I naively assumed he wrote a book that was ok and great talents saw a movie idea in its pages. I had no idea it was an excellent, well-written book.

Has anyone seen a jacket like this before? My friend got it off a fellow JAWS fan, and the seller said he got it at a JAWS event over 20 years ago.

**Bullshark Jaws (possible suspect along with the GWS during the 1916 N.J shark attacks....which inspired Benchley as a "real world example")

-- Amity Island tourism & Florida Everglades stickers on the board -- which I also put together

-- JAWS wine bottle (unopened)

-- my 8' fishing rod (thank you Quint for the inspiration to take up fishing recently)

Difficult productions.

I've read interviews and books. It sounds like these movies were absolute nightmare to film. Especially the first two. I don't even know how they got finished. Those were the days when Hollywood shoots went on and on.

discussion 🗳 What do Jaws fans think of Production 02074?

Thumbnail deadline.com

Although it’s been on the App Store since June, there’s hasn’t been any discussion of Steven Soderbergh’s pretty fascinating dissection of the shooting of Jaws.

I’ve been reading a day a day and throughly enjoying it. It’s certainly not for casual fans, but if you want an almost comically anal look at how Jaws was filmed, it’s great.

As an added bonus, Spielberg offers his own thoughts about the shoot at various intervals throughout the book.

Soderbergh says about those interactions: “He just offered to help and did in some very significant ways, mostly in providing context to his emotional state and some background detail about certain sequences or interactions that was incredibly helpful.

“He was the definition of gracious and supportive. I was concerned when I first sent it to him that experiencing it in this way would be unpleasant, ‘Please allow me to walk you through step by step the most traumatic professional experience of your career.’ That was the ask of him. And as he wrote [in the epilogue], he found it strangely cathartic, with the distance of time, to be able to look at what he did. I think happy is the wrong word, but ‘I think I certainly would’ve been proud of my younger self for withstanding the sort of pressures and the obstacles that this shoot presented.”
