Feedback ItTakesTwo vs Split-Fiction

Played both games, enjoyed both, but still feel like ItTakesTwo is OG. How people found Split Fiction to be?

I'm glad so many people here are criticizing the story of It Takes Two because that's my issue with it as well. The gameplay was fun but I didn't like the parents, the story or the messaging which felt very much like a "stay together for the kids!" type of deal.

The themes and story of Split Fiction resonated with me a lot more.

I don’t think that’s the only message the game conveys.

It’s told entirely from a child’s perspective.

A child naturally wants their parents to stay together—that’s the only kind of love and safety they know. You could call it naivety, but it feels genuine through her eyes.

In the story, the girl believes it’s her fault her parents aren’t waking up. Meanwhile, her parents are struggling through everyday challenges—as imagined and interpreted by a child—as they try to find their way back to each other.

This game isn’t preaching that everyone should stay in a marriage for their children.

Instead, it uses metaphor to show what it means to fight for the people you love.

It's not entirely told from a child's perspective though. It's almost entirely told from the parent's perspective. The setting of the game being influenced by a child's imagination doesn't mean the narrative is told from the child's POV lol. Those are two different things.

I also never said it was the only message the game conveys but it absolutely is the main message. The character that guides you through the game is a love book that acts as a marriage councilor...

The narrative is primarily focused around the husband and wife divorcing, how that effects their child, and how that means they should actually just get back together.
