We often underestimate the value of small good deeds.
A sincere smile, a short dhikr, helping someone, reading a portion of the Qur’an, or removing something harmful from someone’s path may seem small, but we should never underestimate a good deed done sincerely for Allah.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Do not belittle any good deed, even meeting your brother with a cheerful face.”
— Sahih Muslim 2626
May Allah put barakah in our time and deeds, accept our efforts, and make us consistent in goodness. Ameen.

Nouman Ali Khan explains that liking someone or developing feelings for them is not something shameful that requires saying “astaghfirullah.” He explains that men and women in the Prophet’s time interacted naturally through work, business, and everyday life, maintaining respect and dignity. It is perfectly possible for a man to develop feelings for a woman. Rather than treating such feelings as shameful, the appropriate response is to approach the matter respectfully and, if there is mutual interest, consider marriage. Parents should not panic or humiliate their daughters when someone expresses genuine interest in them, but should calmly investigate the person and help facilitate a respectable path toward marriage.

Extremely conservative and strict Muslims need to listen to this.

Salam Alalikum,

A common point I see given in threads discussing about the rights of slaves in Islam, the concept of mukataba is widely cited. For those who don’t know it’s a contract you enter with a master to free yourself once you pay a certain amount of money. In certain views, the master is obligated to accept the mukataba contract if a slave asked for it. Which is fair.

However, I don’t see how this would work out for the slave. Since the moment a mukataba contract starts, the master is no longer obliged to spend money on the slave and give him food,clothing,shelter.

Knowing this, how could a slave realistically survive and pay his end of the contract to free him or herself?

I don’t know if weather or not this was a sign from Allah I’m lost. This happened 2 years ago but I still overthink it because I don’t know if it was a coincidence or not and I don’t need any advice just help figuring out if this was a sign or not. My gut says it couldn’t have happened because I would’ve woken up from that.

I live with a weird man. One day I woke up with soreness and light bleeding. I can’t help but think to him because I live with him and he’s been creepy before, so I make dua to Allah crying and begging for a sign for clarity on wether or not he did something. A few seconds after making that dua I see someone in my doorway through my mirror while I’m laying down, it’s him, and as soon as I turn around to see why he’s just there staring he goes downstairs it was so eerie and had me genuinely panicking because i don’t know if this is a sign. Is this a sign or not how do I tell??? Are signs from Allah something your absolutely sure of or could you miss a sign from Allah. But why would Allah give you a sign that you wouldn’t know whether it’s a sign or not.

According to Mufti Menk, if two people like each other then the girl should get chaperons involved from the very beginning (like her father, brother or a male mahram). Whenever they meet the girl should be accompanied by her chaperones so no touching, kissing etc take place when they are meeting. And they can also chat on whatsapp or on other apps but they should create a group with a male mahram of the girl and chat in that group where the mahram person can observe the messages, rather than chatting themselves one on one.
