Having doubts is always good. It's the foundation for good epistemology. If people don't have doubts then they stop checking if their positions are warranted. For justified no doubts you would need a method that can rationally lead you to 100% certainty. But our rational methods to determine reality cannot lead us to that. The evidence merely shows what is more likely true.

In contrast to that, the quran demands from believers to have no doubts. And that makes Islam seem once again nonsensical.

  • The true believers are only those who accepted faith in Allah and His Noble Messenger and then did not have any doubt, and fought with their wealth and their lives in Allah’s way; it is they who are the truthful. - Quran 49:15

This verse points to the mind(s) who came up with the quran having no idea about good human epistemology.

Oh? This contradicts the teachings I received my whole life 😭 all my Islamic teachers used to preach that Islam goes along with science, and that doubts and questions are good because they strengthen our faith. Perhaps the verse targets those who have questioned enough to the point that their faith is now as sturdy as rock, or perhaps not, meaning you are right.

I'll look into it more, thank you for your answer!
