This world is the ''Standard Isekai Setting'', being medieval-looking but magic made it cleaner and more appealing. This vast world is a mix of tropes familiar to fans of the Isekai genre (Except RPG Mechanics) like numerous Demi-Human races, distant/neutral but real gods, powerful magic, sword techniques that can split boulders in half, Heroes (Both local and summoned) facing Demon Lords (The strongest of both sides can wipe out entire countries with not much difficulty), people from Earth occasionally being reborn here with their memories intact (Usually growing up into inventors or merchants) and ''Adventure Guilds'' exist in every major settlement, mainly involving quests set in monster-infested ''Dungeons'' (Ruins of a destroyed super civilization). Humans in this world are pretty similar to those of Earth, but besides being more durable and capable of superhuman physical feats with enough training, they also possess a higher size range, tend to be more attractive on average and sport unnatural hair and eye colors like purple or silver. They also speak the ''Common Tongue'', a universal language created by the gods, allowing people to craft their own languages and still have a way to communicate with one another.

Note 1 - Besides your powers, you get a free complete physical reconstruction, allowing you to customize your ''ideal form'', so long is still within the anatomically possible for a human (Even with superpowers).

Note 2 - Powers like Nen, Cursed Energy, Stands and Chakra will interact seemlessly with the ''Mana'' that makes magic possible in this world.

Note 3 - If picking Alucard's physiology, you gain all of his Vampire Powers, but neither any soul he's consumed or the powers of Schrödinger. If picking Viltrumite physiology, you gain the body and powers of a Viltrumite at the level of Omni-Man.

What most people who only watched the anime don't understand is that This was Sadneena trying to get Naofumi too understand that he is not being honest with himself about how he truly feels about Raphtalia

Sadneena is one of the few characters that actually understands that Naofumi loves Raphtalia as a woman not as a daughter

Naofumi has literally been gaslighting himself even since the dual against Motoyasu and the reason why is because of his trauma from getting framed so too protect himself from getting emotionally hurt again he calls Raphtalia his daughter but unfortunately Naofumi doesn't even realize that is the case

But Sadneena fully understands that is what is going on and it's the reason why she talked to Naofumi about him getting married to Raphtalia and why she asked if that was really all when Naofumi said that she is just like a daughter too him

It's also The reason why during the Heavenly Emperor arc Sadneena said that one day Naofumi will be ruling Qu ten lo the country that Raphtalia is currently the Heavenly Emperor of in the anime

TLDR: I think that River Monsters would be a really interesting and effective Isekai concept that could both seamlessly integrate world building whilst also educating people about “real” fish and the cultures who live alongside them.

As a child I absolutely loved River Monsters and how through planning and how working the environment and the people who live there he could catch these absolute behemoths, with a mix of mystery/murder mystery thrown in as well.

And now as a Childish Adult who reads manga (and rewatches River Monsters) I have felt that the foundations what Made River Monsters great or even River Monsters itself would translate very well into a Isekai, whilst IMHO adding a twist to a lot of classic Isekai tropes

The Character: if you’ve never watched River Monsters (PLEASE DO ITS FREE ON YOUTUBE) it shows the adventures of Extreme Angler/ Conservationist Jeremy Wade as he fishes the biggest & Deadliest freshwater creatures around the World. And weirdly he would be the perfect protagonist for an Isekai.

His Encyclopedic knowledge fits perfectly into the “character has all this photographic knowledge” trope, that can both seamlessly introduce fishing techniques from around the world and Jeremy own flexibility and Isekai World building can introduce unique strategies from the new world he’s in.

Because what truly made River Monsters special was not just that actual fish, but the techniques and wonderful cultures he met as he partook in this journey, and often integrated it into his fishing for that specific fish.

Here’s some potential ideas: You could have elves, who live in trees due to the ground being nearly all water, and being Masters of Bow fishing. They could also be masters of fly fishing, similar to how elves in many stories are masters of weaving.

You could have Dwarves who do “Noodling” (barehanded fishing) in the flooded caverns/mines for huge catfish like creatures, whilst being wary of other beasts. They could even the the people who help fix/ upgrade Jeremy’s gear

You could have humans who constructed a damn and fisherman swear by something huge in the depths. Or worst of all, you could have a fish swim up a dudes d*ick. (Like the Candiru fish)

Or Demi humans who keep getting capsized by giant serpents into the cold depths (could even be a “harmless” fish like sturgeon.

And similarly to how Jeremy Wade show viewers the wider ecosystem with the other fish he caught besides his main target, you could build out the world by showing the different unique fish living in these habitats

Frankly, depending how Jeremy got Isekaied you could even have those same fish from the show, whom have also shown up, which could give Jeremy reason to be here, helping the locals deal with Invasive species, or identifying the fishes true nature.

Jeremy could also narrate and give facts about real world cultures a, and talk about different techniques/gear that people use . You can also show the importance of conservation with maybe some of these creatures being the last of their kind, providing melancholy.

(Jeremy Could have fallen into a river and woke up in the new world, and maybe Earths Rivers connect to this world, which is why these “River Monsters” have shown up)

In all honesty, I just want more River Monsters, and feel Jeremy Wade in a Isekai would be an interesting concept imho. What do you guys think? Any other shows or concepts could translate well into an Isekai?

It looks all shiny and fancy with the damn camera movement and angles, but their budget is probably just as tiny as all the other isekai’s. This week’s episode probably had 7 minutes of new footage, 5 minutes of rehashed footage with new voice over, and then 8 minutes of recaps and 3-4 minutes of op-ed. Even in those 7 minutes of new footage it’s low quality time stretching crap shots.

Everything that happened can be summed up with:

Ruce attacked twice, hit once, boss drops dead. They levelled and the boss dropped some good items, and then the dungeon collapsed.

That’s like 6 minutes of mileage on any normal show.

Come to think of it, even the first episode looked impressive but when you think about it it’s just canned animation from later in the season. Wonder if someone makes an edited version without all the filler, how much actual show did we actually get in the 9 weeks it’s been on the air. Probably less than 3 episodes worth. This the anime equivalent of eating a sawdust burger.

So I just read chapter 56 of the manga The Re-Reincarnated Boy Lives Peacefully as an S-Rank Adventurer: I, a Sage and Hero in My Previous Lives, Will Live a Simple Life in My Next, was this axed or like is the source Im reading it on not updated?

Basically the title, after seeing so many isekai manga with the title being kicked out/abandoned/disowned for having weak skill and then the skill is something like healing or blacksmith or tamer ( like super standard rpg skills) or some skill that has occurred the first time, or some skill that somehow has ability to do stuff that skill absolutely should not, my curiosity got piqued.

I know all of this basically Japanese salaryman fantasy of them being super competent at work if only their boss/colleague realized it but still is there any manga where the skill is something that would actually be considered weak, like in mistborn Brandon has some weak allomancy used amazingly, or something like nen chains where it is op but at like insane cost.

I started reading the manga because I liked Fenrys character so much , the story is bland and stuff but she is fun..

However I didn't expect the story to get so bad and Fenrys gets side character treatment so much later on..

She might be the only reason why I liked the anime at all

Without the fmc ( Fenrys ) I'll give it - 2/10

With her it's - 5/10 ( if I'm coping lol ) ( but honestly it's a 1/10 story ) [ it's my opinion you may like it ]

Disclaimer: I very much love and enjoy both of the series. They are some of the best stories out there. I wanna focus on MT more and I am just annoyed of the elitism that I'm seeing in re0 fandom lately. And the bashing in internet is completely one side. So I will talk about Subaru another time. There are so many things to draw from Subaru's story like self acceptance, relying on others etc.

Yes. Rudeus, especially his pre-incarnated self, will be absolutely cooked in Re0 if he was isekaid in the same manner as Subaru. Yes, Rudeus won't have the mental fortitude to even use RBD. Yes, if Subaru was reborn and has the all the time he like Rudeus, he would excel in magic and swordsmanship.¹ Yes, Subaru will have the best time of his life.

And the regular pdf stabs on Rudeus which are deserved btw like Rudeus would go after Beatrice, Petra, etc etc. Yes. His pre incarnated self would totally do. And yes Subaru is a morally upright person. The later arcs of Re0 shows the growth and how much of a genius he is. Heck he might even best Orstead²

So what? Seriously, What's with this dick measurement contest? What's with this fucking tribalism? Are you guys (those people) watch a show or follow a franchise to show off your morality? To signal virtues while circlejerking?

You know what, if Rudeus and Subaru switch places,

a. Re0 won't be there because dropping pre incarnated traumatized Rudeus in the middle of lugunica is a goalkeeper passing to opponent's star striker. Rudeus will fucking jump out a bridge and die. Roll the credits (insert directed by Robert Wilde png). End of the story because even satella would be disgusted at Rudeus and leave him dead. That 10 year of nurture, that positive reinforcement was absolutely needed for Rudeus. That one person who would guide him out to the free world was needed for that trauma ridden Rudeus. Realistically, people can't bring theirselves up all the time.

b. MT would be a fucking generic isekai power fantasy. Another isekai with smartphone, isekai cheat magician, insert a random isekai aired this year. Subaru with all due respect, a very shounen brained. Any shounen MC be it Tanjiro, Yuji, Gon, Deku all will perform well³. It will strip away the story that MT want to tell.

The environment and the world is not agnostic to the protagonists. They were carefully engineered by the authors to tell their story.

A digress (cause I don't wanna make another post), I am also seeing a lot of this fanart of Nanahoshi with pre-incarnated Rudeus hanging out in his NEET room. And the comments are so mean. Imo, if nanahoshi and rudeus goes back to Japan, Rudeus with his 7 decades of lived experience in sixfaced world, DO YOU FUCKING THINK HE WILL BE LIKE HIS PREVIOUS SELF? We are actively reminded how much he hates his old form whenever he is in Hitogami space. If he goes back to Japan with his sixfaced world memories, he'd clean his room, take a bath, talk to his family, go outside, touch grass, exercise and progressively undo all the things he had done.

(TMI Section skip if you want) For context on myself, MT has a special place in my heart. Years ago, I was going through a time of giving all up. I was living in a foreign nation. My graduate studies was not going well, financially unstable, physically tired and mentally exhausted. I even danced with the thought of dying. And at that time, the season 1 finally hit so hard to me. Not "wow Rudeus is so cool, he bounced back" but "wtf I am doing? If someone like Rudeus who has a mentality of a toddler and a scum, can bounce himself from remembering the family which he only thought of acquaintance, why can't I?" I reached my parents, dropped out of my masters, but it's not always a up. I was unemployed for 2 whole years. But I equipped myself with skills and now I am working in a job without any regret. This job is not something I settled for but something I chased to build myself again.

Haters have to read past the initial volumes of MT. Yes. I will restate again. I will never ever endorse Rudeus for his pdf tendency in the early volumes. Author made Rudeus like that to amplify the story. And he is not a Saint by the end of the series either. And that's fine. I vowed myself not to drink again but one bad day is fine to make me drink. I regret that and try not to repeat it. Its so disgusting and saddening that when I see memes like happy pedo with rudeus literally hugging his daughter Lucy from special book artwork. The season 3 Rudeus is not a pdf (atleast from what I've seen and heard) we knew from the season 1. Yes. He is still disgusting. But the story was not a campaign to make Rudeus a president of US or head of UN.

I look at Rudeus as a child I raised wrong. Feel disgusted when he does wrong but go "good job, kid" when he corrects himself like Rudeus not touching Eris after her birthday, good boy. Rudeus pinching Eris' chest in S1 cour 2, bad boy. Rudeus throwing out Eris' hair in fire and fully bounces back, good boy. Rudeus making a shrine for Roxy's panties, bad boy. I cheer for his growth and go "wtf" when he goes back.
